Second Base

You cuddled into Zoro's right side slowly opening your eyes in the dark room. They still stung a bit as you blinked allowing your vision to adjust.

"Shit." Zoro muttered under his breath.

You noted the glow of his phone softly lighting his face.

"What are you doing?" You wiggled yourself under his arm resting the back of your head on his shoulder while he held his phone above you both.

"There's a gym just outside our building. Some asshole kid kicked me off before I could collect my coins." His eye remained on the screen that was still too bright for you to focus on.

"A-are you playing Pokemon?" You squinted.

"Shh. Lemme beat this arcanine." He absentmindedly kissed your head.

"This is a dream, right?" You chuckled, "You aren't going to beat it with a jolteon that's for sure."

"I had a bad line up." He whined.

"Should have traded out for a water type instead."

"There wasn't any time." He huffed as his jolteon accepted its fate, "That was your fault."

"How dare you." You gasped.

He slid his phone across the night stand before turning all his attention to you.

"Are you feeling better? You crashed faster than Ace on a full stomach. I thought you were done for the night." He shifted to his right side pulling you onto his pillow.

"Gold stars for the analogy." You smirked, "Sorry. It has been a weird week I didn't sleep very well."

"Me either." His left arm rested just above your natural waist.

"You missed me. I knew it." You teased.

He snuggled into your throat trying to hide the warmth on his face.

"I told you I didn't." His breath fanned across your neck and chest sending a flash of goosebumps over your arms

"Mhm." You hummed, "Keep telling yourself that."

You caressed the back of his neck and shoulders.

"And you didn't miss me?" He asked quietly.

"Not even a little." You replied earning a nip from the greenette, "Ok, maybe a tiny, like, microscopic bit."

His hand roamed down your side before slipping over the small of your back and pulling your body against his. He licked and kissed leaving a trail of tingling warmth from your neck to your right shoulder. You squirmed, breath hitching as he'd immediately found your sweet spot and nibbled mercilessly. Soft moans escaped your lips while he guided your leg over his waist and ran his hand up your thigh stopping at the curve of your hip. He kissed your lips sliding his hand under your shirt hesitating before pushing his fingers under your bra. He hummed into the kiss pleased that you finally let him touch your bare chest. You arched and squeaked as his ridiculously warm hand kneaded your breasts. While you were lost in the moment of warm fuzzy feelings he shifted sliding his other hand down passed your waistband. Your hips instinctively bucked into his fingers, shivering when your skin made contact. A yip escaped you as Zoro chuckled and nuzzled the crook of your neck. Your entire body quaked while he continued to glide his fingers over your most sensitive place. You fought moans between deep breaths and gripped his shoulder. A ball of static began to form and radiate through your extremities. You clamped his wrist between your thighs whispering his name as he added pressure and speed. He kissed you stifling the groan tearing through your throat as the static gave way.

"That was sneaky." You huffed.

He snickered kissing your forehead before rising off the bed.

"What about you?"

"Not while your cousin is here." His cheeks flushed, "I won't let you stay quiet."

With that he stalked off to the bathroom.

"She's got you so whipped you're making her coffee in the mornings?" Law rocked back in the dining room chair watching Zoro mill around in the kitchen.

"Hey, it's the one domestic thing he's good at. Don't take this away from me." You shot your cousin an annoyed glance.

"I'm going to pretend that was a compliment." Zoro added kissing the top of your head before placing your coffee on the table.

Law watched the two of you interact for a moment before speaking again.

"I'm not gonna lie, I didn't believe you were actually a couple." Both of you froze and turned toward him, "I was sure you were faking it to shut Mel up. Actually, she thought so as well."

"W-what?" You sputtered.

"She told Cora-ya that she thought you were lying. I have to say I was surprised you were already living together." He continued.

"That bitch." You muttered.

"My apartment burned down." Was all Zoro could contribute before heading back to the kitchen for the other two cups of coffee.

"It was kind of cute watching you fumble around on the dancefloor." He added tapping his chin.

"We've also been through a lot since then." You sipped your coffee as Zoro took a seat next to you.

"Yeah he told me about the accident." Law raised his mug to his lips, "I'm glad you turned out to be such a caring person F/N-ya."

"Monsters don't always raise monsters." You noted, "So what's this plan you wanted to talk about?"

"Not so much a plan as it is an idea, I guess. It'll take some time to work it out. Cora-ya has some old contacts he's getting in touch with. But we'll need your cooperation, both of you."

You shuddered not liking his ominous tone.

"She isn't bait." Zoro snapped defensively, picking up what needing your cooperation meant.

You turned back to your cousin, who continued to sit calmly and sip his coffee.

"If that's what it takes to put both of them away, I'll do it."

Zoro crossed his arms and frowned, "I don't like where this is going."

"Well its already September so we don't have much time to come up with anything else." Law rumbled.

Zoro sighed, "I guess as long as I can be there."

You rubbed his forearm.

"Of course, Mel isn't going to buy it if you just show up willingly." Law mused, "You'll have to let them come for you."

Zoro shifted uncomfortably.

"Ugh." You groaned, "Doffy's lackeys are so gross."

That statement didn't seem to make Zoro feel any better. He grunted and closed his eye. You could have sworn he was counting under his breath. Suddenly Madara's head was resting in his lap. Zoro exhaled massaging the dog's floppy ear. This was obviously some weird cool down ritual the two had developed without your knowledge. It was pretty cute to witness. Law grimiced at the ridiculous smile that crept over your face.

"You guys are gross." He muttered.

Zoro opened his eye giving your cousin an inquisitive glance.

"Shut up." You spat, "So, when and what exactly are were going to do?"

"I just came to get you on board. I'll let you know when Corazon has worked out the details." Law pushed the now empty cup across the table and checked his phone, "I should get going."

______________

You pushed the swing back and forth with the toe of your boot. Zoro and Luffy were tossing a ball around in the yard.

"So, what happens next yoi?" Marco asked leaning against the support beam that held the roof up.

"Dunno." You admitted with a shrug, "Uncle C is getting ahold of some of his government contacts. Once they work everything out they'll let me know what the next steps are."

"Seems complicated." He plopped down next to you adjusting his hoodie.

It had been two weeks since you heard from your cousin. Fall was creeping in striping the trees and adding a crispness to the evening air. Normally you welcomed the cooler weather, but this only reminded you that time was fleeting.

"F/N?" Marco nudged you, "You OK?"

"Uh yeah. Sorry I zoned out."

"It'll all work out I'm sure." He said leaning back in the swing.

"Oi. What the fuck Luffy?!" Zoro shouted drawing your attention to the yard.

Luffy had launched himself onto the greenette's back.

"Zoro give me a piggyback ride!" The teen chuckled playfully.

"Dude you're not a kid. Seriously get off!" Zoro flailed.

"Ace has spoiled that kid yoi." Marco commented.

"Take 'em down Luffy!" Ace hollered stepping through the screen door.

Suddenly it turned into a wrestling match. You laughed hard for the first time in days as Luffy shifted around clinging to Zoro's neck.

"All that kendo and training and you can't take down a 100-pound teenager!" You called.

"How did he get so strong?!" Zoro turned to the brothers with a bewildered expression.

Every time Zoro reached for him he moved, climbing all over the greenette like a monkey. Ace hopped off the porch and ran at them.

"It's going to get interesting yoi." Marco nudged you.

Luffy and Ace laughed wildly as Zoro shouted curse words swinging his arms and grunting.

"Something happened." Marco drew your attention back.

He was staring at you with a thoughtful expression.

"What do you mean?" You asked.

You jumped as Thatch piped up from behind you.

"I don't think you ever got a look like that." He said to his younger brother.

Marco nodded and shrugged, "She's got it bad yoi."

"That obvious huh?"

"You haven't told him?" Thatch asked sitting down on the steps in front of you.

"In a roundabout way...yeah?" You shrugged, "I don't know why I'm being so weird about it."

"You'll work it out." Marco assured.

Zoro freed himself and sprinted toward the porch snatching you out of the swing. He flung you around pressing your back to his chest as he coiled his arms round your ribcage. You squeaked tugging your jacket down to cover your exposed stomach.

"F/N is my shield. You have to get passed her." He huffed over your head.

"I'll take care of this." Ace advanced holding both hands up like claws.

You already knew what was coming.

"N-no! I hate all of you!" You were already laughing hysterically when Ace began to tickle you.

Your flailing caused Zoro to stumble sending you both into the grass.

"What's wrong with you Mossball?!" You swatted at him halfheartedly.

He grabbed your hands yanking you in to peck your lips and earning wolf whistles from the idiot brothers that surrounded you.

"You're in so much trouble when we get home." You grumbled rubbing at the grass stains on your elbows and knees.

"I'm not scared of you." He smirked rising and pulling you to your feet.

Your phone buzzed in your pocket.

Traffy: Call me when you have a few minutes to talk.
