Epilogue : Morning

Not one for a big to-do, he popped the question one night as you cuddled up to him in bed. It came out so naturally matter-of-fact that you had no idea what was happening at first. Of course once processed you gave the appropriate response, a giddy, "hell yes."

Maybe not the grand romantic story to tell your grandchildren one day, but it suited both of you just fine.

Six months passed before you signed the proper paperwork at the court house. Your entire life you were told how huge and opulent your wedding would be. It amused you to think of how Mel would lose her shit that you married an orphan blade-smith in a court house meeting room. Law, Nami and Uncle C witnessed the occasion not that your moody cousin had much of a choice. Corazon would have dragged him kicking and screaming, you honestly wouldn't be surprised if that's exactly what happened.

There was a reception. The Newgate boys insisted on hosting it at their bar.

"The best part of a wedding is the party yoi." Marco had said palming you shoulder.

Once they decided on something there was no going back. It was one hell of a party...from what little you could remember. After recovering the two of you took a short vacation. Nothing too extravagant just a visit to a small beach town, it was fall after all. For four days you enjoyed each other's uninterrupted company.

It had been three years since your parent's sentencing. Mel and Doffy both got 60 years with no chance of parole. Basically for them, life. Your mother was the oldest, surviving 60 more years would be impossible and even if Doffy did he'd be over 100. Your father on the other hand was released on good behavior not long after your wedding. You didn't have much reason to contact him, though you did answer when he called. Your relationship just wouldn't ever be what it once was.

It was early. The light pushing through the blinds was still soft and gray. You grumbled and closed your eyes trying to force yourself back into slumber. This was your day to sleep late but that almost never happened anymore. Your body knew what time it was though your brain knew Zoro had already slipped out of bed long ago to ensure you'd get your precious sleep. Your ears focused on his muffled voice in the next room. You were glad he was so helpful and willing to lose just as much rest as you to get things done around the house.

Madara shifted on the bed as the bedroom door eased open.

"Let's just try going back to sleep." Zoro murmured earning a soft grunt in response.

He pulled back the blankets as a small dip formed in the mattress at your back followed by more small huffs.

"Let mama sleep." Zoro said softly removing the lump from your back.

"She could sleep if dad wasn't being so damn noisy." You chuckled rolling over.

Zoro laid on his back propped up on his pillows with the tinier greenette sitting on his bare chest supported by his father's large hands.

Never in your life had you seen an infant scowl the way yours does. Though he's fairly even tempered he looks exactly like his father. The only resemblance to you at first were his freckles but now reaching his seventh month his eyes have started to match your unique shade rather than the deep blue-gray they had been at birth.

You watched Zoro nuzzle his face into his son's chubby little hands earning delighted giggles. He was so proud of this kid before he was even born. In fact you were positive he was more excited than you the day Sunny arrived. Not that you weren't overjoyed to finally see and hold him, you just had quite a bit more pain and nerves to deal with than your other half.

"Look you went and woke her up Sunny ~" Zoro scolded playfully holding the baby's attention.

You wiggled onto Zoro's shoulder kissing Sunny's onesie covered foot, "Good morning Mossy."
