Tuckahoe, New York- 2:00 am -1/4/21

I woke up in a cold sweat. I looked around my room in fear. It felt like I was being watched by cold, evil eyes. I sat up from my bed. I placed my bare feet on the cold floor. I stood up from my bed because it felt like I was laying on concrete. I waddled over to my window and peered outside. The ground was dusted with snow. I realized I was shirtless and wearing nothing but basketball shorts. I threw on a yellow sweater and some gray sweatpants. Shaking, I tip-toed to the kitchen to get a cup of water, being careful not to wake my dad. He had passed out on the couch after a long day of work. He is a construction worker, but he longed to be an architect. I grabbed a Starbucks cup out of the cabinet. It was green with a yellow lid and a yellow straw. Slosh Slosh went the water as it drizzled into the cup. It was so mesmerizing to my sleepy brain that I almost let it overflow. I twisted on the lid and went back to my room, being sure to grab my phone and a blanket on the way. I got back to my room and slowly closed the door behind me. Click went the door. I was alone once again.

I checked my phone. It was 2 am. I checked the temperature of the house- 67 degrees- brrr! I decided I could start recording a youtube video because I have nothing better to do. I only have about 6 subscribers, but I need to keep going if I wanted to get bigger. I put on some socks and slid over to my computer. I logged onto Hypixel and decided to be super original (not) and play some Bedwars. I wanted to play one round so I could get in the mood. Click, Click.  I wanted to play Duos for once. Aw, man! None of my friends are online. I thought about it for a second and remembered that it is 2:06 in the morning... Well, maybe I can make some new friends!

Starting in 3, 2, 1, GO!

I backed up into the generator and looked over at my teammate's name.

Ha! I thought. GriffinPuff! Like the vine! 10 million points to GriffinPuff! Frick you Snape, GriffinPuff wins!

I chuckled to myself and proceeded to look at our color. Yellow! Yellow is my favorite color, and I always have the most luck on the yellow team.

"Woah," I said out loud, even though no one would hear me. This guy was good at the game! I wondered how old they were. Maybe we could be friends!

Only one team left, I thought. I went to go buy fireballs, but before I could get to the merchant, a familiar word popped up on my screen. 

VICTORY!

They got the final kill! I also noticed they have the YouTube rank. Oh my gosh- THEY HAVE THE YOUTUBE RANK. Crazy! I sent them a party invite, and surprisingly, they accepted it! We ended up playing about 18 more games.

"Grayson!" A familiar voice filled the hallway. Crud! What time was it? I checked my phone, and it is 10 am! I have been playing for 8 hours! I didn't even record anything! I private messaged GriffinPuff.

Ok, few things to clear up. No, this is not Purpled and me,  no this is not purpled at all. I have not decided if it is me or not, but I am leaning towards no. Now that that is all cleared up, thank you for reading the first chapter of Press Start! This is my first story, so please be kind. Let me know if you want me to continue this series. Below, I have included some definitions of some of the words in this part that some people might not know the meanings of. The next chapter is going to be the same day but from Griffin's POV.
