Chapter 7 - Dinner & Wine

Going to Choi Seung-Hyun's house took awhile. It was still in Seoul but because Jang Mi didn't want manager Kim to be suspicious about her whereabouts, she told him she'd find her own way home. So she took the subway and exited off the nearest stop to Choi Seung-Hyun's house. Not only was the nearest subway stop have a three mile separation from Choi Seung-Hyun's home, she had to walk up different amount of hills to reach his house. Jang Mi didn't find it bothersome, it'll help her get in shape for her drama. Seeing as all she eats is Ramen which doesn't do too good on a girl's body.

Choi Seung-Hyun lived in an amazingly good sized home. The gates of the home are traditional so Jang Mi automatically thought he lived in a traditional house. When she buzzed the gate, Choi Seung-Hyun's deep voice rang on the speaker by the buzzer. He then proceeded to let Jang Mi through. He had a screen inside the house to see who it was, but for some reason Choi Seung-Hyun liked testing Jang Mi's patience. He waited for her outside, in the courtyard of the house. It was a big open space with green grass flowing throughout the open court. In the middle of the grass area is a path of different sized stone for each step it took to get to Choi Seung-Hyun's house.

Choi Seung-Hyun took in Jang Mi's appearance. He never noticed how pretty she looked when he saw her on shows. Even if he saw her in a drama or a variety show, he wouldn't have noticed her. Jang Mi's beauty was one that shined brighter when in person. Even now as she wore a casual outfit shined brighter than most girls would be able to while pulling her outfit off. She wore blue skinny jeans and a black hoodie with 'one of a kind' going across the front. Her long hair was tied nicely in a ponytail as a few strands escape around her face.

Choi Seung-Hyun knew she wasn't as cold hearted as she appeared to be. He could tell when he and the Big Bang members bumped into her in the hallway, they saw everything that happened before. When she took pictures with the members of Winner. They were dripping with sweat, no girl would take pictures with an idol like that. But she smiled and ignored the small droplets of sweat that dripped on her as a camera snapped their picture. And Choi Seung-Hyun could tell she was hiding her true personality. Even now as she walked through Choi Seung-Hyun's courtyard.

"Hello girlfriend!" Choi Seung-Hyun says to lighten the weight of tension he left with her at her house.

She chuckled an awkward chuckle after regaining back her attention from his bluntness. "Hi." She replies finally reaching him. "Wow! Your house is amazing! Big Bang must be doing so well." She comments.

"Thank you. Follow me. We'll talk while I make dinner."

Jang Mi followed Choi Seung-Hyun into the house. She noticed how natural he was. It was like they agreed to date and not fake date. And now he was going to make dinner? Jang Mi couldn't wait to eat. After walking that long distance to get to Choi Seung-Hyun's house, she could eat a cow.

Jang Mi entered his house but didn't get what she expected. She expected it to be a traditional inside as the outside was, but it was clearly modern. The insides had wooden flooring but the interior decoration was way too modern. For some odd reason, Jang Mi thought it looked way better than most modern interior decoration. Choi Seung-Hyun matched modern aspects with a Korean traditional home. The furniture that was in his house were amazing as well. Jang Mi wasn't a specialist when if came to furniture, but she knew the furniture that sat in his house were very delicate and fancy. She found it an interesting sight.

Jang Mi followed behind Choi Seung-Hyun as he made his way to the kitchen. His kitchen is equipped with the top of the line kitchen appliances Jang Mi had ever seen. The black marble counters matched the silver kitchen appliances perfectly. His kitchen is absolutely sexy in Jang Mi's eyes. She wished she could cook in a beautiful kitchen like the one owned by Choi Seung-Hyun. Her hands ran over the smooth countertops. Her eyes ran over the fogged glass cupboards where she was sure plates and other things were placed.

"Please sit on the stool by the island while I prepare our meal." Choi Seung-Hyun says without the need to turn and look at her.

"Alright." Jang Mi sighs as she took a stool.

Jang Mi watched as Choi Seung-Hyun went between his two fridges to get ingredients out. He placed different vegetables onto the island while he opened other cabinets bringing out a cutting board and knife from the wooden knife block and placed it on the island. Jang Mi watched as he started doing something fancy to the vegetables. Poor Jang Mi could only cook simple things in her small kitchen. If she could cook in Choi Seung-Hyun's kitchen, she'd be able to make tons of food for the neighbors and the village dog. He even took out meat from the fridge and was chopping it up into long strips. Jang Mi can't tell what it was that he wanted to eat.

"So, did you come up with a way for our relationship to be rumored?" Choi Seung-Hyun asked while peeling a garlic clove.

"I think so." Jang Mi replied. "We have to keep it a secret from everyone."

"Everyone?" He questions while trying to blow his hair out of his eyes.

"Yeah. No matter how many times people ask, we have to deny. Even if we're caught in the act. You can't tell any of the Big Bang members either. I feel bad that you're lying to them but-" She started.

"It's fine. I'm thinking of it like we're actually dating." Choi Seung-Hyun cut her off.

"Actually dating?" Jang Mi says under her breath. "Yeah." She said nervously.

"So that's it?" He asks.

"Hmm. No." She inhaled. "If you really want your members to believe you, ask them questions about girls. What they like or text me on your phone. Try to excuse yourself to call me or whatever."

Choi Seung-Hyun chuckled. "Alright."

"Do you have any inputs?" She asked.

Choi Seung-Hyun brought out a counter grill and placed it in the middle of the island. "Yes. We need to make public appearances. You know Dispatch?" He chuckled.

Jang Mi smiled at the thought she had forgotten to mention. "Yeah. But we have to keep it a secret as to who is dating. They'll obviously know it's you. What do you suggest we do?"

"I'll hide you." He stated simply while continuously placing different vegetables on a plate.

"Hide me?" Jang Mi raised an eyebrow.

"Yes. Hide you. People know me cause it's obviously my good looks and sharp charismatic presence," Jang Mi furrowed her eyebrows in annoyance. "But hiding you would be easier since you're shorter than I am. If paparazzi over crowd us, I'm going to hide you."

"It sounds simple but unfair. I don't think you should get all that negative attention by yourself."

"Do you suggest hiding me?" He stopped everything he was doing and looked up at Jang Mi with a raised brow.

"I'm not that famous where people would make a huge fuss to who I was dating." Jang Mi looked deep in thought.

Choi Seung-Hyun thought she was crazy for thinking she wasn't popular among the people. How could someone like her think she wasn't famous enough for people not to make a fuss about her? She did after all, have a title. That is a title that was given by men. Men who loved her. After seeing her in the hall, Choi Seung-Hyun couldn't help but be annoyed because of Seungri. He talked openly about her. Seungri thought she was so pretty and he even wanted to date her. Seungri wouldn't stop bothering Choi Seung-Hyun about her. He wanted to know how his Hyung knew her. It wasn't only Seungri, even Kwon Ji Yong had asked if anything was going on between the two which in return, Choi Seung-Hyun coolly denied.

"Are you sure you're not that famous?" Choi Seung-Hyun asked.

"Yeah. I'm sure. I only debuted as an actress three years ago." Jang Mi stated.

Choi Seung-Hyun placed different plates onto the island. She observed some of them. They were all side dishes. One plate had a small stack of different Korean lettuce leaves. A bowl of rice was placed on the table as well. A small plate with tofu. Another small plate with Kimchi. Her eyes took in the colorful plate full of a variety of different vegetables. Garlic, carrots, red onions, jalapeños and green bell peppers. But Jang Mi's eyes were glued to the stack of meat that sat on a plate, and a few cut up meat on another plate.

"Do you like Ssambap?" Choi Seung-Hyun asked with pure amusement.

"Are we eating Ssambap?" Jang Mi smiled brightly.

(Ssambap is basically lettuce wraps with different Korean side dishes and meat inside. It's really tasty.)

Choi Seung-Hyun has never seen someone's expression this bright when it came to food. Her eyes grew twice the size of her original size. He couldn't help but find her a little bit amusing. So this is what love at first sight looks like? He asked himself with a small grin. He knew for sure that Jang Mi is indeed a peculiar person. And he was happy that she didn't find anything awkward between the two. Especially with the whole fake dating.

"Yes. Ssambap sounds good right?" He didn't even need to ask to know the answer.

"It sounds perfect." Jang Mi bit her lip as she waited for Choi Seung-Hyun to turn the small grill on. "I haven't had meat in such a long time."

"Well, now that you're here, eat as much meat as you want." He placed a few meat on the grill hearing it sizzle under the heat.

"Really?" Jang Mi asked while bringing her eyes away from the food and onto Choi Seung-Hyun.

Choi Seung-Hyun made eye contact with Jang Mi longer than he expected. He was worried at how deeply the eye contact had gotten where he started noticing Jang Mi's features. Choi Seung-Hyun noticed how Jang Mi's light brown eyes shined when they reflected light. Her lashes were longer than most girls in Korea. They casted a small shadow over her cheeks. He followed the small movements that her bangs made as it gently brushed across her eyelids. Jang Mi's eyes didn't falter one bit. Choi Seung-Hyun knew better. She wanted to stand down against the intense stare down they both did. He watched a small smile pulled at the corner of her pink lips.

"The meat is burning." Jang Mi stated not breaking eye contact.

"Aish." He shouted while looking down at the meat that was getting darker than it was supposed to. It caused Jang Mi to laugh at his sudden outburst. "It's funny?" He asked. "That's your piece." He laughed at the automatic silence that came upon Jang Mi.

Choi Seung-Hyun fried while they wrapped their own special lettuce wraps. He was surprised by how easy it was to talk with Jang Mi. He usually had casual talks with people who talked to him but he felt like he could get into a deep conversations with Jang Mi. Although they were only talking about each other's interests, he knew the light conversation could turn into deep conversations unknowingly.

Jang Mi never gave much up to Choi Seung-Hyun. In fact she was good at escaping unwanted questions. Choi Seung-Hyun already knew the questions he could and couldn't ask. Just like he was, she kept a tight lid on her private life. A connection that he understood really well. He too was private about his life but due to the situation, he had to let her know a few things about him. So for respect of her space, he never really asked difficult questions. Choi Seung-Hyun knew she wasn't raised in Korea because she sometimes mistaken words easily. But she held no accent to her speaking. Choi Seung-Hyun appreciated that she knew how to speak well. He would often ask questions about where she used to live and how it was like growing up. She sometimes would rebuke his questions by asking him the same questions. That's how the conversation between the two went.

"Do you go shopping often?" Choi Seung-Hyun asks.

"I shop but not often. I do wish I shopped more often." She starts but paused when a thought crossed her mind. "I wish I had a computer to shop online since it's easier." She nodded. "A lot of my clothes are bought by my manager but it's mostly for work." She shrugged. "What about you? Do you shop a lot?"

"Yes. I like fashion just not as much as I used to." Choi Seung-Hyun got up and piled plates onto each other.

"I can do the dishes." Jang Mi stood up and took a hold of some plates.

"It's fine. You're a guest." Choi Seung-Hyun placed the dishes inside the sink. "Besides, you wouldn't know where to put them."

"Then dry them and put them away. I'll wash them." Jang Mi said standing side by side next to him.

They both faced the sink, not saying a word. Jang Mi's head only reached his shoulders as he towered over her short figure. She placed the dishes in the sink and slipped on the oversized blue gloves. She started washing the dishes while Choi Seung-Hyun dried them and place them where they belong. They were in a comfortable silence as they continued to work on the dishes. Once they were done, Choi Seung-Hyun took out two glasses of wine and raised his eyes.

"I can go for some wine." Jang Mi replied.

Choi Seung-Hyun took out a glass bottle from under the island and told Jang Mi to follow him out of the kitchen. She followed him into the living room where fancy chairs were placed. She knew he liked art, but art in furniture was weird. Everything about Choi Seung-Hyun is weird. How easy he was when they talked. She found him easy going. Aside from the fact he would move away when he was accidentally touched. Even if it were an accident, Jang Mi felt bad for making him feel uncomfortable when she accidentally touched him. It was a thing Jang Mi wasn't used to but she had to respect him. She respected Choi Seung-Hyun for being weird. He never asked her the hard questions like everyone did. It's almost like he knew where her boundaries were. Most people would re-ask questions she was trying to avoid but he didn't even bother to. For whatever reason, she was thankful for him.

Choi Seung-Hyun lead Jang Mi into his living area where there was a shelf filled with books. He watched as Jang Mi's eyes scattered around the room. She seemed to intake the way he lived and she kept a blank face so Choi Seung-Hyun wasn't sure if she was pleased or not. He sat down on one of the chairs he bought from an art gallery and pointed to the identical one next to him. He placed both wine glasses and the wine bottle down. Just as he started pouring for both cups, his doorbell rang. Getting up to check the doorbell monitor, Choi Seung-Hyun's body went stiff at what he saw.

"It's my sister!" Choi Seung-Hyun shouted.
