Chapter 49 - A New Friend
Jang Mi was currently visiting the designer for 2ne1. She needed to get a dress fitting for an outfit exactly like Park Bom's outfit for their performances. President Yang had said he'd pay for it, however, Jang Mi refused it. Jang Mi wanted to pay for her debut like every other artists out there. She had even handed an envelope to President Yang with money for both her time in the dance studio and the recording studio. Most of her money she received from doing photoshoots and dramas went to her management team. So that part was covered.
Jang Mi was overly excited to get a dress fitting. The outfit had to be finished and sent to Jang Mi's stylist the day before the family concert. From what Jang Mi had heard from Kwon Ji Yong was that all tickets for the concert had already been sold and the arena was going to be completely full. It made her sick to her stomach with nerves but she was prepared to do this. Jang Mi had told her fans that she was attending the concert and she suggested they buy tickets to it. A lot of fans were excited that Jang Mi was going to be attending the concert. Most of them didn't understand why she was attending it or why they should even buy a ticket to a full concert just to see her. She just told her fans that she was attending to support her YG Family gang and will make a surprise appearance which she told them not to say a word about it. Others speculated that she was attending to support Choi Seung-Hyun and the other members of Big Bang so she wanted her fans to support them as well. Those were the comments Jang Mi smiled at because they obviously didn't know anything. So she just posted a blushing emoji.
"Bae Jang Mi." Jang Mi looked up from her phone to see the lady who had just finished measuring her. "So, I have all the materials ready but I think you should change the design."
Jang Mi tilted her head. "Change the design? How come?" She said sort of bummed out.
"Well the ruby black styled uniform that I designed for 2ne1 were meant for them. It showed the best assets that each member has. Minzy has a full figure and she has her flat stomach and thick thighs. Her outfit shows off those assets perfectly. Dara is petite, so her outfit showed her flawlessly flat stomach. CL has beautiful curves and the outfit she wore were tightly around her body and showed off her thick thighs as well. As for Park Bom, her figure too, is petite. Her most worthy asset is her thin and long legs. Her dress put emphasis on her long legs." She said with a smile as Jang Mi nodded in reply.
"What about me? What are some assets that I'd be able to show off wearing something like that?" Jang Mi asked.
"Your figure is a little bigger than petite. You're not over weight neither are you super thin. Your also lightly muscular."
Jang Mi cringed. "Great. I'm going to look like a dancing hulk on stage." Jang Mi sighed.
The lady chuckled. "It's not to the extent of someone who's body building. I'm saying you're not flabby. Your body is tight and that isn't a bad thing because your body is very toned."
"With all the food she eats?" Manager Kim piped in while Jang Mi eyed him evilly. "I'm just saying." He said hands up in his defense.
Jang Mi shook her head at her manager. "So what do you suggest?" Jang Mi asked.
The lady smiled. "Just like your body, the outfit is going to be tight. It's going to be well fitted to your body but also show the assets of your legs and thighs. It would help give off an image and make you look taller. You'll even add a few inches when you wear your sneaker wedges."
Jang Mi smiled. "So it's possible?" The lady nodded. "Thank you so much." She said standing up and bowing towards the lady.
"My pleasure. Good luck on your debut." She said cheering her on.
Jang Mi bowed and waved as she made an exit from her store. Manager Kim lead her to the celebrity van and went on their way. She didn't have anything else to do that day. She was free. The only thing she needed to do was take care of her vocals. Kwon Ji Yong couldn't be more annoying when he constantly reminded Jang Mi about drinking warm honey tea and not to drink anything cold. He literally shoved two thermal bottles into her hand. Both filled with honey tea made by Hyo Rin. If the drink is not warm, you must heat it up! Kwon Ji Yong's voice played over and over in her head. She sighed. Your body too. Don't overwork your body. Don't get hit by your brother either. He would continue on his rant. Jang Mi just nodded and waved him off. I'm serious! But Jang Mi just ignored him.
"Where are we going?" Manager Park asked.
Jang Mi pursed out her bottom lip as she thought. "I know!"
...
Two Hours Later
Jang Mi entered the large building called a gym. The awful smell of manliness hit her upon entering the building causing her to cringe. Jang Mi sighed to herself and let her eyes roam around the gym. It was full of life and movement. A lot of guys were working hard in conditioning for their fights. Some wore shirts, most were bare. Jang Mi did not mind at all. Seeing all their muscular chests and abs, dripping with sweat, made Jang Mi blush like the pervert she was. Her blush however, instantly disappeared when her eyes fell upon her shirtless brother dripping with sweat. Her body shivered in disgust. He wore the exact same thing other guys around the gym wore but got a different reaction.
"Jang Mi-ah, are you sure you wanted this much?" Jang Mi looked over to Manager Kim and Manager Park who walked in with both hands occupied by multiple bags filled with fried chicken and other meats. "Isn't it too much?" Manager Kim asked.
Jang Mi shook her head. "You see all of these guys. They're all working hard for their training. They're burning a lot of calories so they need to eat more calories. I think that's how it works. Usually girls try not to eat calories even when their losing calories. Oh never mind, just take it in."
"Where do you want me to set this up?" Jang Mi looked over to the third person next to her managers and saw a young worker for the food service. One hand held more boxes of food in multiple bags, while the other hand was carrying bags filled with water. His hands were trembling under the weight. "I might drop these."
Jang Mi rushed to help him. "I'm sorry. I'll carry this."
"No, I can..."
"No just give them to me." Jang Mi said against his protesting.
"No, I can do it." He continued stubbornly.
"Give me a second." She said to the three guys. "Oppa!" Jang Mi shouted into the gym catching all the attention of every man in the room. Jang Mi, surprised by the sudden attention she got from yelling so loudly. "Sorry." She said shyly. "Ji Hoon oppa!" She shouted more specifically.
Ji Hoon walked out of the octagon while taking his sparring gloves off. "Jang Mi-ah, why are you here?" He asked. "Hello manager Park and manager Kim." He bowed towards Jang Mi's manager before facing his younger sister for answers.
"I'm done with my schedule for today. I thought I should come feed my brother and his teammates." Jang Mi smiled. "Can you please carry the bags off my managers and this hard worker." Jang Mi smiled as other guys around the gym rushed to help her managers. "Thank you." Jang Mi bowed in appreciation.
Everyone gathered into a small crowed as Jang Mi helped pass out some boxes of friend chicken and bottles of water. There were a lot. However, she left the rest to be passed out by her managers while she went to talk to the fast food worker. He smiled and asked Jang Mi for an autograph. Jang Mi was happy knowing she met a fan of hers. She dug around her purse in search for a pen and paper. She came up short when she only found a sharpie. She sighed and looked at him.
"Can I sign your shirt?" Jang Mi asked which he hesitantly nodded. "Do you also want to take a selca with me?"
"Yes please!" He said more eagerly.
Jang Mi smiled as she signed his work uniform. He took out his phone and positioned the phone for the perfect angle. Jang Mi readily smiled and held up a peace sign right by her eye. He bowed in thanks to her and told her what a huge fan of hers he was. Jang Mi smiled brightly and dug out for her wallet. The meal was expensive just like she thought it would be. However she took her wallet out and paid for the whole thing. When he placed the money away, Jang Mi handed him 50,000 won ($50) which confused him.
"You keep that for a new work shirt and whatever else you need. Don't worry too much about the shirt I just ruined with my signature." He frowned and took Jang Mi into a hug which surprised her. If finally occurred to her that he was crying into her shoulder. She panicked at this and hugged him back. "Yah, why are you like this?" Jang Mi frowned. "Don't cry."
"What's going on?" Jang Mi turned her head to see her brother with a worried expression.
"He's crying." I mouthed to him.
"Why?" He mouthed back.
Jang Mi replied with a small shrug. Ji Hoon shook his head and went back into the gym since he was shirtless and it was cold outside. The kid finally pulled back and wiped his tears away before bowing in apologies for suddenly breaking down. Jang Mi looked at him and frowned. He was just a kid. A teenager. He was probably five years younger than Jang Mi. Yet he still towered over Jang Mi like he was older and Jang Mi was younger. Jang Mi pulled the sleeves from her jacket down and pulled it into her palm. She used it to wipe the stray tears that fought it's way out of his eyes.
"What's your name?" Jang Mi asked.
He sniffles loudly before answering. "Kang Ji Soo." He said.
Jang Mi nodded. "Why did you cry like that?" She asked while rubbing his back.
He choked on his tears. "I'm sorry." He apologized as Jang Mi shook her head.
"Don't worry about it. I cry about twenty times a day." She joked. "Are you alright?" She asked more seriously.
He smiled and nodded. "I've been having a hard time especially recently and you helped me without knowing me or my situation."
Jang Mi sighed. "What is there that I need to know? You walked into the gym with your hands full of food and drinks. Even when your hands were about to break because the food and drinks were too heavy, you protested against me taking anything off your hands." Jang Mi smiled brightly. "You're a fan of mines, yet you waited until I had my brother and all his teammates seated with food before asking for an autograph and a picture." Jang Mi patted his head. "What's there to know? I know a good kid when I see one."
He smiled shyly. "Thank you Bae Jang Mi-ssi."
Jang Mi clicked her tounge at him. "Noona, call me noona." She smiled at him. Jang Mi dug through her purse and pulled out a pass and a ticket that sat in a closef envelope. "Do you like any songs by YG artists?" Jang Mi asked.
"Yes. Big Bang and 2ne1. All of them." He smiled brightly.
Jang Mi cheered softly. "Good. Here." Jang Mi handed him a VIP pass and a ticket. "This is a VIP buddy pass that will let you walk freely behind the scenes of YG Family Concert. The ticket is for you to get in. Come visit me. I'm attending the ceremony as well." Jang Mi smiled.
Ji Hoon shook his head and tried handing it back. "I can't just take this."
Jang Mi giggled as she slowly started walking away. "Sorry, I can hear you. You're too far."
"You're literally right there." He said pointing to Jang Mi's feet.
"Nope. Can't hear you. If you're not at the concert, I'll know where to find you!" Jang Mi shouted as if she was miles away from him.
Jang Mi waved to him and went back into gym. She was starting to freeze outside since the snow is freshly fallen. Ji Hoon eyed her suspiciously as she entered. When she did, all the guys around clapped and it caused Jang Mi to step back in shock. She couldn't understand why they were all clapping. Her managers just shrugged and smiled at Jang Mi's confused and shocked face.
"They're clapping to thank you for their meal." Ji Hoon said with a role of her eyes.
Jang Mi smiled. "It's fine. It was nothing." She shrugged.
Jang Mi wanted to celebrate her pre-debut time with her brother. However, he was busy with his training for his upcoming fight and Jang Mi wasn't able to celebrate it with him properly like she had wanted to. It was the reason why she suddenly wanted to visit her brother. She knew that the gym would be crowded with men who were probably really hungry. So it was only natural she'd bring food to feed them when visiting her brother. Although it wasn't the ideal way of celebrating her debut with her brother, she wasn't any less satisfied with it. She got to sit along side a bunch of shirtless muscular men who ate away and worshiped her for the time being just for bringing them food. She also got to meet a new friend who she hopes he would come and visit her during the concert. All she has to do now is debut and continue on with herself.
.....
This chapter was super long and super pointless but please keep reading. Ji Soo becomes a very good friend to Jang Mi, he will appear in future chapters. The story is almost done. Ah.
