Chapter 38 - Fighting with Oppa

Ji Hoon entered Jang Mi's hospital room and smiled sheepishly at Jang Mi who glared his way. Before he could talk, Jang Mi got off her bed and walked to him. She lifted her right leg up and kicked him in the stomache. Like the fighter he was, he easily blocked it. Jang Mi dragged her IV hangers with her as she went to throw a right hook at him. She was mad at him.

"Why are you so violent?" He asked when Jang Mi was out of breath. "Look at you, you're so weak." He teased.

"I'm not weak. The doctor said, I'm sick and dehydrated." Jang Mi kicked his shin causing Ji Hoon to groan in pain and rub the spot she kicked. "You want to know why I'm so violent?" Jang Mi snapped. "It's because you tricked me."

"I did not trick you." Ji Hoon claimed.

"You tricked her." Hyo Rin jumped in.

"Who's side are you on?" Ji Hoon asked as he blocked another punch.

"Jang Mi's side of course." She answered in a snobby matter.

"Let's go Jang Mi. Oppa will feed you all the food you want. Just follow me into this room that's made for VIPs under YG Entertainment." Jang Mi said quoting him in an imitation voice of his. "Why did you trick me in to seeing Dr. Kwang?" Jang Mi snapped.

"First of all I don't sound like that. Secondly, you need to face your fears." Jang Mi sighed frustratingly. "What are you afraid of? You knew that you had little to no chance when you had the nodes removed. So the worst thing Dr. Kwang could've told you was something you already knew."

Jang Mi sighed. "So what did he say?" She asked softly.

Ji Hoon smiled. "Dr. Kwang said that the doctor who did your surgery, performed it flawlessly. There was no scaring on your vocal cords. You took a long rest from then too. Your vocal cords healed perfectly. One hundred percent healed." Ji Hoon smiled brightly.

"What does that mean?" She asked not believing what her brother was saying.

"It means, my little sister, you can sing again."

Jang Mi sat wide eyed. Tears welled up in her eyes as her brother clapped happily for her. I can sing again? Jang Mi started to cry. Heavy cries. Singing was the only thing that comforts her and when she had that taken away she couldn't do anything happily anymore. Her heart gleefully sang as she continued to repeat the fact that she could sing in her head. It was all thanks to her brother. Jang Mi jumped up and hugged him. Hyo Rin eyes watered watching the exchange between the two.

"Do you know what this means?" Jang Mi asked pulling away from her brother. "I can sing." Jang Mi smiled.

Jang Mi cleared her throat to sing a few notes. Her brother cringed as well as Hyo Rin. Hyo Rin would never say it but she wasn't sure if Jang Mi could even sing to begin with. If that was the case, Jang Mi is a loony and so is her brother.

"Jang Mi-ah, I think you need to warm up your vocal cords." Ji Hoon said rubbing his ears. "It's been a few years since your singing voice has been put to use."

Jang Mi nodded. "I know just the right person to help me prepare." Jang Mi stood up. "I need to leave this hospital. Right now."

Ji Hoon eyed her weirdly. He always knew his sister to be weird but she's beyond control. Ji Hoon was however happy to see a smile on her face. Singing was the only thing that helped keep her together. He couldn't imagine the stress she had to go through to make such a decision to give up her dream as a singer. She did pursue another dream of hers, which was to be an actress. She put all her goals of becoming a singer, right into acting. For that Ji Hoon was proud of her.

...

Ji Hoon was worried for his sister. It's only been an hour since she was released from the hospital. It's been a whole day since Jang Mi found out she was able to sing. Ji Hoon was helping her warm her vocal cords. She was starting to sound like normal. She was a little rusty but Ji Hoon knew she could easily smooth them out with more practice.
After being released she wanted to train. Her mind was all over the place so she wanted to spar in the ring with her brother to help clear it. Ji Hoon of course loved it when his sister trained with him. She was much faster than he was since she was smaller. She had a lot of advantages against him but he knew he was stronger than she was. If she moved too slow, he could catch her and even knock her out. It helped him in the long run. If he were ever to face an opponent as fast as she was, he'd be ready .

"You ready?" Ji Hoon asked. "I'm not going to go easy on you."

Jang Mi nodded her head as she placed her mouth piece in her mouth. Jang Mi wore a sports bra and black tight fighting shorts that stopped mid thigh. Her gloves graced her knuckles as well as her brothers'. Her hair was in a pony tail, tied tightly behind her head. She was excited to spar with her brother since it's been awhile since they did.
Jang Mi watched and observed his moves. Jang Mi wasn't as professional as her brother, so she had to be careful sparing with her brother. Ji Hoon threw the first punch which Jang Mi dodged. He smiled at her fast movements. Jang Mi threw a kick to his knee, letting the air leave her lungs. He easily blocked it. Jang Mi ducked as her brother threw another right hook her way. With this advantage, she punched his stomache. Sadly, it was made of hard, solid muscles. It hurt her more than it hurt him. Jang Mi was in a bad position, she hadn't seen it coming. Her brother kneed her in the face while she was bent over. Jang Mi fell onto her back with helpless tears streaming out of her eyes.

"Jang Mi-ah, are you okay?" Ji Hoon asked.

Jang Mi kicked him. "Oppa!" She whined. "My face." She continued.

"I thought you were going to dodge it. You never ended a fight this easily." Ji Hoon replied.

"So you had to knee me in the face?" She snapped. "What are people going to think when they see an actress with a bruised face." Jang Mi stood up and punched her brother square on his face. "Oh my goodness! Oppa." She said. "I'm so sorry. I acted on instincts."

Ji Hoon groaned as he held his nose. "No." He said muffled. "It's fine." He groaned. "You just broke my nose. No big deal."

Jang Mi sighed. "I'm sorry."

Ji Hoon stood up. "I won't ever knee you in the face. Just try not to break my nose a few days before my next fight."

Jang Mi nodded as she watched her brother run to his trainer to help him with his nose. Jang Mi felt bad about it but couldn't help but smile. Jang Mi was ready to do her next step with her voice. She needed to ask her boss for help.
