Chapter 29 - Reassured

"You must be the one who's trying to steal my son." Choi Seung-Hyun's mom addressed her before sighing due to Jang Mi's shocked expression. "I'm just kidding." Jang Mi was instantly pulled into a hug. "I don't give out many hugs but since you're my son's girlfriend and from America, I'll hug you." She smiled at Jang Mi as she pulled away. "Now come on inside." She left them to go inside her house.

Choi Seung-Hyun took Jang Mi's hand and took her inside. She was happy he did so because she was glued to the ground from shock. She had a mini panic attack while she was made fun of by Choi Seung-Hyun's mom. Jang Mi really liked Choi Seung-Hyun so she had to suck it up for him. She didn't want him worrying about her. After she removed her shoes, they both walked into Choi Seung-Hyun's house engulfed with the smell of food. Inside was well furnished. Jang Mi felt like Choi Seung-Hyun had helped with it. He was really good with interior designing, and Jang Mi felt like this apartment had a piece of him in it.
Choi Seung-Hyun stopped in the living area when he spotted his sister sitting on the sofa. She stood up and lightly flicked her younger brother's forehead before taking him into a hug. She hasn't seen him in awhile so it was good to finally see him after so long. Jang Mi couldn't help but watch the two siblings' exchange. Jang Mi could tell how much his sister cared for him. However, Choi Seung-Hyun being the young brother, he slightly cringed at their hug since he wasn't used to it.

Jang Mi was pulled into her second hug of the day. "I'm Choi Hye-Yoon. I'm Seung-Hyun's noona." She said after her departure from hug city.

Jang Mi smiled. "Nice to meet you." She bowed.

"Just so you know, I know you were wearing my ladybug house slippers that night." She smiled as Jang Mi's face instantly flushed. "I just don't know where you were hiding."

Jang Mi went into a formal bow. "I'm sorry. That was at the beginning of our relationship. When we were keeping it quiet."

Choi Hye-Yoon just chuckled before she went to greet Dong Young Bae and Min Hyo Rin. Jang Mi looked over at Choi Seung-Hyun who had been watching her intently. He had never taken his eyes off of her and he wanted to watch every move she made. He was thinking to himself as he studied her like a piece of art. He liked seeing her small facial expressions when his mom and sister talked to her. It was the only reason he hadn't jumped in to rescue her when she felt awkward. He enjoyed the small gestures she did on her face. She smiled at him. Showing a deep dimple of hers.

"Should I help your mom?" Jang Mi asked as she left without his answer to her question.

Choi Seung-Hyun followed her. Watching her every move as she made her way to the kitchen. He watched as Jang Mi greeted his mom. She wanted to help but his stubborn mother had refused. Choi Seung-Hyun studied her as she reached for a cutting board that his mom held. She was cutting pickled radish for side dishes. Jang Mi took over and started cutting. He continued to watch Jang Mi as she cut the pickled radish without a care in the world. He watched as she stopped midway and wiped her hands onto a dish rag. She tied her long hair into a ponytail so it stayed away from her face while she cut the pickled radish. Jang Mi had a small smile pull up into the corners while she cut away. Choi Seung-Hyun was curious as to what was going through her head. It was always something with that girl. Since, Choi Seung-Hyun was so preoccupied with watching Jang Mi, he hadn't even noticed that his mom was watching him.

"Do you like her a lot?" Choi Seung-Hyun jumped surprised by his mother's presence.

"Yes." He simply replied with a crooked smile.

"Seung-Hyun-ie, your other band mates are here."

Choi Seung-Hyun was glad that his sister stopped his mom from asking anymore questions. He didn't want to explain the way he felt to his mom. Jang Mi was someone he'd miss if he went on a overseas trip. She is someone he'd want to see the most when he got back. She was the one he worried most if she ate well or slept well. Jang Mi is someone he always wanted to hear from. She is someone he wanted to be by when he felt down or lonely. He wanted to be the one to make her smile and laugh. Jang Mi is someone he never wanted to shed a tear. If she was sad and lonely, he wanted her to tell him so he could fix it. If she hadn't eaten or slept well, he'd feed her and rock her to sleep. If he went overseas, he wanted Jang Mi to run and jump into his arms as if they haven't seen each other for years on end. Choi Seung-Hyun had fallen in love with Bae Jang Mi and he didn't mind one bit.
