Chapter 85 - The JiNa Ship

"You have two fractured ribs. Your right ankle is sprained and the cut on your cheek needed two stitches. The small bandage on your cheek is to prevent the stitches from getting wet or infected. It'll stay on for two weeks along with the stitches. Honestly, I'm surprised you don't have internal bleeding at this point. Your body knows how to take a beating well. Your outer appearance seems more hurt than your insides so it'll take awhile for all the bruises to heal. As for the fractures in your ribs, there isn't much I can do. It's only fractured so it'll heal on its own within time." The doctor clicked his tongue out in disappointment from her turn out. "And you said you fell down the stairs?" He asks raising a brow.

Nabi sighed. "The stairs were metal," She said followed by a long pause, "and sharp." She sighed out again. "Oppa, didn't I ask for a doctor who wouldn't ask questions?" Nabi asks Joo Won in English.

Ignoring Nabi's language change, he decided to continue the conversation. "Anyways, this medicine will help you with the pain for your ribs. You have to take it once every four hours as needed. If the pain gets worst, take two tablets." The doctor smiled. "President Il, please refrain from using my name during house calls and have Miss Park to re-visit my office for a check up in two weeks. From the looks of her, I don't think she'll come in willingly."

Joo Won smiled. "Don't worry. I'll take care of everything. This won't happen again. I'll give you extra vacation hours in return for your service." Joo Won bowed.

"That was the deal." Doctor Seo smirked as he began picking up his bags of tools. "Keep it smooth Miss Park." He winked and left Nabi's apartment.

"I didn't know it was alright to do house calls." Kwon Jiyong says.

Joo Won gave him a sharp look. "It's not. It's illegal." He sighed. "So keep it to yourself huh?" Kwon Jiyong just nodded in defeat.

"Yeah don't mention me being here either. As a detective, it will damage my image and my status. Now, where is the evidence?" Sang Hyuk says.

Nabi's eyes shot big and nodded. "Right." Nabi tried to stand up but groaned out in pain from both her ankle and her ribs. "Damn." She sighed out.

"What do you need? I'll get it." Kwon Jiyong says.

Nabi hesitated, but she answered him. "My black jacket you threw on the floor of the bathroom, where is it?"

"Sorry, why was he throwing the jacket you were wearing all over the place?" Sang Hyuk asked with concern.

"Why is it your concern that I'm taking Nabi's jacket off of her body?" Kwon Jiyong snapped, going face to face with Sang Hyuk.

Nabi stood up, ignoring her painful body, and began hopping on one foot, groaning as she did so. "If you two are going to act stupid, I'll grab it my damn self." She says continuing to hop on one foot.

Joo Won swooped Nabi up and placed her back onto the chair. "I can't believe you ran over here with that type of ankle." He says shaking his head. "I'll grab it."

Nabi sighed. "Just bring it to me please."

"I cooked up whatever you had in your kitchen. I hope this is enough for all of you." Kang Eun-Bi says coming out from the back of the kitchen wearing an apron, while carrying a large metal pot with oven mittens. "Kimchi Stew." She smiled.

"I'm actually not hungry." Joo Won says entering into the living room and placing Nabi's black hoodie that was still wet onto the coffee table. "I'm more tired if anything." He then looked at his wife. "Are you tired?"

"Not really." She says running a hand through her hair.

Nabi shook her head. "Don't lie. You came here so early in the morning, and cooked too. You must be exhausted." She inhaled and exhaled. "If you're tired, you can go. Thank you so much for coming here when you didn't need to." She says.

Kang Eun-Bi bowed politely. "Thank you." She smiled.

Joo Won was touched by how kind Nabi was to Eun-Bi that he gave her a wide smile. "Thank you." He nodded.

"No. Thank you oppa. I seriously mean it." Nabi says to both Joo Won and Eun-Bi.

As they began to make their exit, Nabi reached over the coffee table, with her good arm, and received the jacket. After shivering from it's cold and wet surface, she dug through the pockets and pulled out the black flash drive that Tae Gyeong gave her. It reminded her the sacrifice her brother had made for her. She wanted to rush this out as soon as possible. Hoping her brother wasn't in any trouble for this. Nothing that would get him killed for anyway. She knew her father wouldn't harm him because Tae Gyeong was his pride and joy. She knew how much he loved his son over her. It gave her a little hope in him being alight.

"Come on, let's see what's on the file." Sang Hyuk says excitedly.

Nabi gave him a light chuckle. "You will. Tomorrow." She says.

"But-"

"It's been a long day. You should get going." Nabi says. "I promise you will get the evidence tomorrow."

Frustrated, he sighed. "Fine." He bared his teeth at her. "I'll be here tomorrow. As soon as I wake up. With my team."

"Sang Hyuk oppa, please have a team check up on Tae Gyeong. I don't think I'll be alive if it weren't for him." Nabi asked. "I'll pay whatever trouble you have with my request. Just please-"

Sang Hyuk smiled as he cut her off. "Don't say anymore. I'll have a couple of my juniors rush there right now."

Nabi sighed out in relief. "Thank you."

"Tomorrow. We'll do this tomorrow." Sang Hyuk says informing her about their evidence.

Nabi nodded in agreement. She knew he wouldn't be back at her place until the afternoon, since the sun would be rising up in a couple of hours. She was trying to get rid of all of them. She was glad Joo Won left willingly after knowing she was okay. She didn't have to wait for him to leave.

The only reason she wanted to send everyone away was because of Kwon Jiyong. Nabi, honestly, couldn't believe her eyes. While she was getting her body checked up on from the doctor, he would constantly ask if she was alright. When Nabi would flinch, Kwon Jiyong would stand up and check where ever the doctor was touching, making sure he wasn't hurting her. He never moved away from her side. He even held her hands while she was getting checked up.

After so long, he still showed that he loved Nabi by doing all these little things. Her heart would break every time he asked her if it hurt, or if she could endure it. Not once has he asked why she left or why she was back. Although, he was starting to put two and two together, Nabi was disturbed by the fact that he hadn't asked her yet. Asked her all these questions that she was waiting for him to ask, he didn't ask her a single one and it was bothering her.

Nabi looked over at him, sitting a couple centimeters away from her. He sat there with his legs crossed, looking straight ahead. The silence in the room was making her feel uneasy as she wanted him to ask her questions. She waited for awhile but it never came. He just patiently sat there.

"Why haven't you asked yet?" Nabi asked frustratingly.

"Because I understand." Kwon Jiyong says calmly.

"Understand what?" She sniffed as she began crying from frustration. "That I left you? You understand that? That I hurt you in the most unexplainable way? Tell me because it makes no sense to me."

"Don't get angry." Kwon Jiyong says with an expressionless face. "I know you think I should be mad at you, but I'm not. I understand." He sighed out and gave Nabi a sad smile. "When your mother passed away, you left me for a few weeks, handling your mother's funeral and what not. I couldn't understand why you would push me away in your time of need, but someone told me that you have important priorities and you were setting things into their rightful place." He smiled. Kwon Jiyong turned his whole body to face her as he took hold of her hand with his. "On one of the episodes of GEM TV, you were all being harshly scolded by the CEO, which caused the members to cry. You, however, didn't even give a single tear until you were alone. You put others before your own pain. You like to suffer alone rather than have people you care about suffer with you. Which is why you also left behind your beloved uncle. This was my theory, and then you showed up looking the way you do. It confirmed everything for me. You left me for a reason. Because you have other priorities. Even if I wanted you to go a different route instead of leaving me the way you did, I still felt that you didn't leave willingly."

"How is that supposed to make me feel better?" Nabi asked in shock. "I feel like the worst person to ever walk this earth."

"You're not." Kwon Jiyong says with a sad smile. "Even if we can't be together in the end, I just want you to be happy." Kwon Jiyong reached out and lightly wiped away the couple of tears that slipped down her cheeks. "Do you want me to help you to bed?" He asked. "I can sleep on the couch and you can sleep on your bed."

Nabi sighed, not feeling too well about how they ended this conversation. "I'll just stay here."

Kwon Jiyong nodded and bid her a good night. Nabi began to make herself comfortable in the position she was laying with on her living room sofa. She played with the flash drive in her hands, helping her keep her mind off of Kwon Jiyong. It wasn't working too well.

Nabi, selfishly, wanted him back after this whole situation with her dad. She wanted to be able to kiss him and feel him again, even after what she did to him. Her heart, however, wouldn't forgive her. She couldn't forgive herself. All the pain she caused, and she still wanted him.

"Jiyong!" Nabi shouted.

Almost instantly he ran out in a panic. "What? What's going on? Are you alright? Is it hurting anywhere?"

Nabi shook her head but kept a straight face. "I need to tell you something." She started. "I'm too selfish." She said quickly.

"What?" Kwon Jiyong asks with a raised eyebrow.

"Back when we were at the park, confessing to each other. You told me that you were too selfish to care that you were going to hurt me by calling me yours." She says, gulping down her nerves. "Even though I was gone for awhile, I still selfishly want you."

(A/N: These are the exact words he told her btw the corniness is real)

Kwon Jiyong stood there for a moment. Not moving a muscle. Nabi was starting to think she broke him or something. But suddenly, he moved. His actions were so quick, Nabi didn't see him coming towards her. Kwon Jiyong kneeled in front of Nabi and kissed her. He made sure he was as gentle as possible as his lips moved in sync with hers. The warmth she gave off, made his heart beat uncontrollably. It was like a love addict relapsing after not being loved for so long. Nabi herself couldn't deny the fact that she missed being kissed by Kwon Jiyong. Even though her lips had a cut and she was bruised everywhere Kwon Jiyong placed his hands on, she didn't care. She fought through the pain.

After feeling Nabi's tears wetting his cheek, he pulled away from her, noticing her silent cries. "I'm so sorry." She cried out. "I'm so sorry for what I did to you." She continued, crying loudly.

Kwon Jiyong just sighed, taking her into his arms. Hushing her quietly as she cried into him. She sat in an awkward position because of her fractured wrists, but she wanted to be held by Kwon Jiyong. He didn't mind holding her either. It's been so long since he was able to hold her like this, and now she sat by him, holding onto him, he couldn't push her away. He knew she was going to tell him why she left. He only knew of the few pieces, but none of them made sense because she turned up with cuts and bruises. That wasn't the end result he thought of. So he waited for he patiently, while looking deeply into her eye.
