Chapter 77 - Recruiting

Nabi walked into the coffee shop wearing her business attire. She looked confident with every stride she took to the counter. Her eyes were covered by shades as she walked up to the counter of the coffee shop. Since the officer was already an employee under the company, all she needed was Jung Lina to be hired. Which sounded much easier said than done.

"Lina-ssi!" Nabi says walking up to the counter while taking her shades off.

"Hello Park Nabi." She bowed politely.

"It's good to see you." Nabi smiled.

"Do you work around here?" She asked with a smile. "If you do, you live sort of far from where you work."

Nabi chuckled. "I actually came to look for you."

"For me?" Jung Lina asked curiously. "Why?"

"I have a job offering for you." Nabi says truthfully.

"All of a sudden?" She asked confused. "I'm sorry. I don't know if I understand or not."

"Well, I work for a large company but I need an assistant." Nabi says.

"I'm sorry. I'm not really qualified for such a job." Jung Lina says.

Nabi shook her head. "No. If anything, you're over qualified." She smiled. "It beats having three part time jobs." Nabi placed the shades back over her face. "Well, the job was meant for you. It's your decision. When you're ready to decide, you know where I live." Nabi smiled and waved.

Nabi left the coffee shop and got into the back of her car. Secretary Hong sat in the driver's seat, ready to take her to her next stop before heading to work. Nabi waved her arm, signaling Secretary Hong to drive. She sat silently and looked out the window, watching buildings pass by.

It was moments like this she hated the most. When it was quiet. When her hands weren't busy and she wasn't talking about business. When it was just silent and Nabi was left to stay in her own mind, her own thoughts, it would always lead her back to Kwon Jiyong. She wondered what he was doing and if he was okay. If he had moved on. She thought he would since it's been three months. She refused to go through entertainment articles with the fear of seeing even a photo of Kwon Jiyong. It was no doubt she missed him. Being next to him. Everything about him was stapled into her memory. She even remembers his beautiful smile. The one that always made her heart flutter.

"Ma'am, we're here." Secretary Hong says as she pulled the car to a stop.

"Wait in the car. I'll be back quickly."

Nabi got out of the car. The wind that swept past her, blew her dress shirt and her hair in different directions. She looked up at the old building and sighed. She entered the building, following the directions on the Internet since the building was made of small companies jammed into one large building. It made finding the correct office difficult. However, she stopped in front of a glass door with the company's logo on it. It matched the one on the Internet. Nabi entered, not even bothering to knock.

"How may I help you?" The man behind the desk asks as Nabi walked through.

Nabi sighed and nervously placed a strand of hair behind her back. "I heard this was the place to come to if I want you to follow someone?"

The man looked up from his desk and nodded. "Depending on the price."

Nabi sighed. "I'll give you a million Won a month for as long as I ask of your service."

"Sounds perfect to me." The man smiled. "Who do you want me to follow? Would you like photos?" He asks.

"Yes. I want photos." Nabi pulled a photo out of her purse and placed it on his desk. "Follow him. Kwon Jiyong." She says simply. "I just need photos of what he does daily. Who he is with. Everything. No detail must be left out."

"An idol?" He questioned while holding the photo.

"If you're not going to agree with it, I can easily find someone else." Nabi says.

"No. I'll do it." He says.

Nabi nodded. "I'll be expecting information by the end of the week." Nabi says. "You'll get your pay at the end of the month. Please deliver them to my office. The address is on the back of the photo." Nabi explained. "You must not share this with anyone."

With that, Nabi turned and left the office. She had no idea what she was doing. She didn't know why she had wanted Kwon Jiyong to be followed when she couldn't even look at a photo of him. The withdraws she was having from not being able to see him, were like she was addicted to drugs and went off of them cold turkey. Even listening to his music would hurt her. She hoped that having at least a bit of inside information on what he was doing while she wasn't with him, would at least put her mind at ease and stopped her from thinking about him all the time.

...............

"We're here President Park." Secretary Hong says as she opened the car door for Nabi.

Nabi got out, and entered the building, with the same thing that happened every time she entered the building. The employees all standing on either ends of the walkway, dressed professionally in their uniforms. They bowed in a full ninety degree bow as Nabi passed each of them.

Secretary Hong pressed the elevators and waited for Nabi to enter into the elevators before being able to press the floor of Nabi's office. As she entered the floor of her office, employees rushing around bowed as they passed her. When she reached her Secretary and her Assistant's desk in front of her office door, her Assistant ran out from behind the desk. She stood before the two and greeted Nabi with a deep bow.

"President Park, Min Sang Hyuk-ssi is inside your office like you asked. He just arrived." Her assistant informed.

Nabi nodded. "Make sure nobody bothers us." She says pausing at her office door. "And I mean, no one." She says lowly.

Nabi entered her office, seeing a figure instantly standing up in the living area of her office. He gave a deep bow as she entered. She gave a light bow before placing the folders that she carried from down stairs, and placed them on her desk. She waved her hand for Min Sang Hyuk to take a seat as she walked over to the radio remote that was in a small pocket on the wall.

"I'm going to play some music, if that's alright with you." Nabi says as she pressed play.

The song was an upbeat rock song by Dickpunks. "Yeah, I guess." He shouted over the loud music.

Nabi placed a finger over her lips hushing him from speaking too loud, as she sat on the sofa across from him. She crossed her legs and crossed her arms as she eyed him. Min Sang Hyuk had to be a rookie. He was too young to be a long term detective. His body gave away his career, seeing as his muscles were rippling through his black t-shirt. Even the veins that popped out in his forearm caught her attention. His black hair styled modernly and professionally. His face had a masculine feel to it with his cutting jaw line and his sharp nose. His eyes screamed mystery, making even Nabi's facade shake slightly. His face looked tired but he looked confused more than anything. Most likely from having Nabi request his presence and just having her sit quietly across from him with loud music blasting through out the room.

"Sorry for the loud music." Nabi says as she leaned over the table so that he could hear her over the music. "My office is bugged."

"What?" Min Sang Hyuk asks in shock. "By who?"

"I'm Park Nabi." Nabi says ignoring him.

"I know." He says with a slight bow. "Why did you ask for me?"

Nabi sighed. "You're a cop right?"

A light chuckle escaped his lips. "I'm not a cop. I don't know where you got that idea from."

Nabi chuckled at how easy it was to catch his lie. "You're too fit to be just a business worker." She says truthfully. "You honestly think I wouldn't know?" She asks.

Scoffing, he crossed his arms across his chest and gave a high smirk. "Now that you figured it out, you think you can protect your family?" He asked.

Nabi gave a small smile. "No." She says simply. "I need your help." This time, the confident business Nabi was gone and she actually looked hopeless.

"You need my help?" He asked. "No. I'm actually quite content with my job. I don't need some spoilt brat controlling me."

Nabi rolled her eyes. "I'm trying to take my father down."

"Still not agreeing to whatever it is-" He suddenly stopped speaking when what Nabi said settled into his brain, "-Wait, what?" He asked shocked.

"I know about the special investigation team that's put together for my father. All you guys need is information and proof. I can help you. My father isn't a good man. I know that. I'm being held here against my will." Nabi explained. "All I want to do is help you take him down."

"What's in it for you?" He questioned.

"My mom's company." Nabi says simply. "It is to remain untouched and in my full possession. I've checked through everything in the company and it's clean. Most likely from my father only carrying 4% of the company's shares which means he couldn't do much." She continued.

"How can I trust that this company is any different from his company?" Min Sang Hyuk asked.

"You can check. I'll give you all the company records. Everything from our financial status, profit, our investors, down to even the material we get imported from Peru. Everything is legal." Nabi says. "I have a whole folder dedicated to how clean this place is."

"Where?" He asked still suspicious of Nabi.

Nabi sighed and stood up. She walked over to her desk and pulled open a drawer. She bent down and pulled out a large folder with a hard black leather cover. She headed back over and handed the folder to him. She watched him reach for the folder as she sat back down across from him.

"Open it and read through it." Nabi says.

Min Sang Hyuk begana reading through the folder. Making sure he didn't miss a single spec of information. The folder held evidence of the company's records from even before Nabi began working as President. So she knew the records were clean. The numbers added up perfectly. So she knew no laws were broken.

"So you're clean?" He asked and received a small nod from Nabi. "Why would you want to take your own father down?"

"He forced me here against my will. I have to take him down. He's threatening people I love." She says seriously.

"That rapper." He nodded but quickly took it back. "Sorry, we had to check every family member's background. You're dating that rapper in Big Bang."

Nabi looked down at her hands that sat over her crossed legs. "I used to. We're not together anymore."

After a long awkward pause, Nabi looked up and saw that Min Sang Hyuk placed the folder down on the coffee table. "Alright, I'll help you help me."

"Thank you." Nabi smiled sincerely.

..............

I'm sure the story feels overly stretched. I can feel you all missing G-Dragon. Lol, Don't worry, I'm a sucker for happy endings and I will end this book soon.
