Chapter 54 - Separation
The news about Kwon Jiyong dating Nabi hadn't died down like she had hoped it would. Although it has only been five days since she went to work, she felt like the issue was only getting worst. She rode with Kwon Jiyong and literally had to push past reporters just to get into the company. Nobody even cared about her dating Kwon Jiyong. Only VIPs were concerned. Most reporters wanted to know the reason behind her disappearance from Gem's debut stage. A lot of the reporters wanted answers from Nabi. Kwon Jiyong was beginging to get protective about her. Posting on his SNS, telling people to leave her alone which soon started an uproar with VIPs, not understanding why he had to protect her and that she needed to fight her own battles.
Nabi knew she was being sensitive about the whole situation. She didn't know how to feel. The reporters continued to publish stories about Kwon Jiyong, Gem and herself. She was getting really tired of it. Especially if most of the news were just repeating. None of the reporters got any answers from Nabi or Kwon Jiyong about their relationship or the issue about Gem. President Yang had called the cops on multiple occasions but they couldn't handle that much reporters at the same time.
Nabi felt the most sorry for Kwon Jiyong. Because of her, his name was being brought up into a million different articles. He claims that nothing about it is new, but Nabi didn't like it one bit. She decided to read a few of the messages and regretted it immediately. They were very harsh. Not only were ex-fans of Gem bashing her for leaving Gem, they were also bashing her for dating someone who is out of her league. It has gotten to the point that Nabi doesn't even use her phone.
"That sounds great." Nabi says in a monotone. "It's," Nabi paused to look at her non-existent watch on her wrist, "language time. Go up to your classes. Don't forget to breath."
Her trainees left the room, whispering amongst themselves. Nabi just ignored their gossiping voices. When it came to gossip, they jump at it faster than trying to sing properly to debut faster. This whole week was just getting on Nabi's bad side. It had become evident just how annoyed Nabi was getting. The stress the media was putting onto her was making her mean and even her students were noticing it.
President Yang had allowed her to leave after teaching this last group of trainees. Nabi was so done with the week but she dreaded leaving because she'll be bombarded by the reporters again. This wasn't as bad as it was when she first left Gem. Fans of Gem would find her and throw eggs at her, flour, even eel oil that stunk to the point where showers didn't help with ridding the smell. At least she didn't have to deal with that anymore. She worried heavily about that and was glad that even VIPs were backing off.
Nabi made her way up to the studio where Kwon Jiyong was helping Lee Hi on her comeback. She knocked before hearing a come in. Nabi entered, instantly noticing Lee Hi in the booth, singing away while the song played. Kwon Jiyong sat at the sound board while watching Lee Hi sing. He turned to look who had walked in and had to do a double take. He smiled before turning to Lee Hi and pressing a button to talk into a mic.
"That was good. Let's take a break." Lee Hi nodded and took her headset off.
Once Lee Hi left, Kwon Jiyong stood up. In and instant, Nabi wrapped her arms around his waist and hugged him tightly. Sighing, he instantly wrapped his arms around Nabi. He felt bad that he couldn't do much for her. President Yang advised him to not post anything on any SNS until further notice. Most likely until the whole situation is calm.
"I'm sorry. I just needed a hug." Nabi says looking up at him, with her arms still around him.
Kwon Jiyong gave her a small smile. "You don't even have to ask to hug me. You can even kiss me and I would just stand there and let you."
Nabi chuckled lightly. "Thank you."
He lent slightly down, giving her a light kiss. "What are you doing now?" He asks.
Nabi sighed. "I need to go home."
Kwon Jiyong nodded. "Alright. You don't look well these days. Less and less reporters are showing up to the company but a lot still show up at the dorms. I had Jang Mi pack up all your clothes and I already bought you a new phone." Kwon Jiyong smiled.
"Pack my bag? Why would she? How does she even know my password? Seriously? You told her?" She asked all in one breath.
"Yes, I told her. Maybe it's best you stay at someone's house." Kwon Jiyong suggested.
"Someone's house? Like who?" Nabi asks.
He smirked.
.....
"Welcome into our humble home!"
Nabi entered the large apartment and took in the beauty of it. The moment she entered the apratment, the smell of fried chicken and other fried meat had instantly hit her. She took off her shoes and slipped on the extra house slipper while waiting by the door. The apartment looked surprisingly clean for an apartment with only men living in it. As she entered the apartment she stood in the living room randomly while the two men just stared at her expectantly.
"I'm sorry to do this. To intrude like this." Nabi says bowing politely.
"Noona, don't worry. You're of no burden to us. I'm tons of fun too." Ji Soo smiles.
"No he's not. I'm way more heavier in fun than he is." Ji Hoon smirked.
Nabi nodded awkwardly. "So, it's just the three of us then?" Nabi asks. "It's weird that Jiyong trusts you two."
Ji Hoon shrugged. "He said he trusts us because Ji Soo is too young and I'm too old."
"You're younger than Joo Won though." She says to herself.
"Well, should I go and tell him that then?" Ji Hoon asks with a smirk.
"No! No. It's fine." She smiled.
After awhile of just standing around they all heard the front door's playful tune. Indicating someone entering the code correctly.
"I'm finally here! I heard there is chicken!" Bae Jang Mi says entering with bags of drinks, food, and Nabi's clothes all while wearing a cow onesie.
"You look stupid." Ji Hoon says upon her entrance.
"It's because I'm wearing pajamas. What's your excuse?" She snapped while eyeing him down, despite the height difference.
Ji Soo just rolled his eyes at the two. "Noona, what are you doing here?"
"Jiyong oppa said he doesn't trust you two with Nabi unni." She says while yawning and scratching her stomach. "So I came." She smirked. "Here. Carry the bags." She says handing Ji Hoon the bags of food and placed Nabi's bag by the door.
Bae Jang Mi looked over at Nabi and smiled. She made her way towards her, only to fall due to the tiled floor and grip-less bottom of her pajama's feet. It caused Nabi to jerk forward, ready to help her but almost instantly Bae Jang Mi shot back up from the floor as if nothing happened. She then finally reached Nabi and took her into a tight hug.
"Let's eat." Bae Jang Mi says the moment they broke apart.
Nabi nodded. "Maybe you should take the sleeping jump suit off."
"No. My husband bought it for me because I show too much skin especially when I leave the house. He didn't tell me when he would come here but he said it better be on for proof that I walked out of the house like this."
"Well did you?" Nabi asks actually curious about it.
"Of course not. I put it on in the elevator." She says rolling her eyes. "Now, lets go eat."
Nabi nodded and followed after Nabi to the dining room where the food was laid out for all four of them to eat. Ji Soo and Ji Hoon weren't even waiting for them. They were already eating and Bae Jang Mi was beginging to get annoyed from all the food that they had already consumed. Barely leaving anything left for them.
After their dinner, Choi Seung-Hyun had arrived from a set of a drama he actually decided to do. He came in and kissed Bae Jang Mi as if there were nobody in the apartment with them. Ji Hoon held nothing back as he watched them.
"Seriously, get out if this is how it's going to be. The food in my stomach is starting to rot from you two." He grunted out in annoyance.
Like always Choi Seung-Hyun ignored him and his usual complaints of his public display of affection towards his wife. He was here because Kwon Jiyong asked for a favor. To stay by Nabi's side. Kwon Jiyong wanted to keep her separated from himself for awhile. He needed to fix this problem but he didn't know how to.
They all sat around the coffee table and Choi Seung-Hyun placed a black plastic bag with a few bottles of Soju inside. Nabi sat wide eyed as she watched the others cheer happily at the black bag. She just sat there clueless and unsure of what to say.
"It's okay Nabi." Bae Jang Mi smiled. "You don't have to drink."
"You can be the referee." Ji Hoon says. "What about Ji Soo?"
Bae Jang Mi raised a brow. "What age were you when you started drinking?" She asked with a knowing smirk.
"I don't think that's a good idea." Choi Seung-Hyun says.
"It's alright. He's with us. I won't let him do anything stupid." Ji Hoon smiles.

"What exactly am I refereeing?" Nabi asked curiously.
"It's a fun game I made up." Ji Hoon says proudly. "It requires quite a few beers. Luckily we have three boxes here." He smirked.
"We're not playing that stupid game." Bae Jang Mi says.
"What game is it?" Nabi asks.
"A long and complicated game that will only make everyone drunk in the end. Maybe one day we can play." Bae Jang Mi smiles.
"So what are we going to do, just pour drinks and drink like boring people?" Ji Hoon asks.
"You're going to mess up the entire apartment playing that game. Save it for when we go to Seungri oppa's house in the near future." Bae Jang Mi says.
"It's not like it's going to be our first time messing up Seungri's house." Choi Seung-Hyun smirked while everyone, except Nabi who didn't understand, nodded in agreement to Choi Seung-Hyun's statement.
"Let's drink and sing karaoke then." Bae Jang Mi says.
Nabi smiled, excited to sing some karaoke, until she heard a phone ring from her bag. She was going to panic over the thought of someone texting her or calling her but she then remembered that Kwon Jiyong had gotten her another phone. She sighed and reached for the bag, pulling out another phone. She instantly smiled as she saw Nara's picture flashing on her screen. Nabi excused herself from the others, who were busy arguing over the karaoke or this unknown game, and walked out to Ji Hoon and Ji Soo's apartment balcony.
"Nara-yah." Nabi smiled into the phone.
"Unni, are you having a hard time? I see a lot of news articles about you. Of course a lot of them are not even true. One said you're only together with G-Dragon oppa to get instant fame. There are even some magazines in Japan about you." Nara says.
Nabi closed her eyes and nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. I am dating an idol so it should spark up some kind of uproar." She sighed. "Don't worry about me and study well."
"I will." Nara replied. "Anyways, have you heard from mom?" She asks. "She doesn't sound so good."
"Yeah. I spoke with her a few days ago. She's probably overworking herself because of the wedding she's helping her friend plan." She explained.
"I don't know. It didn't sound like exhaustion." Nara says skeptically.
Nabi shook her head. "Don't worry. I'll talk to you later. You need to go sleep."
"Alright." Nara said with a sigh before both of them hanging up.
Nabi began playing her mom's voice in her head. She sounded fine to Nabi. Just tired. That's all. Nara was always stating crazy things that caused Nabi to practically ignore her all together.
