Chapter 47 - Awkward

Nabi was currently staring at the trees and the mountain. The campsite is huge but it was surrounded by trees and mountains that was mesmerizing. Nabi inhaled deeply through her nose as she wanted to get fresh air into her lungs. She soon sighed, not feeling the difference between here and back in Seoul. Although Seoul had a lot of buildings, which meant more pollution, a lot of Seoul had parks with thousands of trees and even building with roofs with plenty of trees planted at the top. So the air seemed fairly the same.

As Nabi stared at the tree, trying to measure by eye exactly how tall the trees were, when she felt arms snake around her waist from the back of her. Feeling Kwon Jiyong place his chin on her shoulder as he hugged her back into his front. Instantly, she felt herself relax into him.

"What are you doing?" Kwon Jiyong asks.

"Looking at the trees." Nabi smiles.

Kwon Jiyong shook his head. "I told you to check the campsite out and you come to stare at trees."

Nabi chuckled. "It's pretty though." She smiled.

"You're prettier." Kwon Jiyong whispered.

Nabi scrunched up her face. "You're so cheesy!" She laughed loudly while covering her mouth. "Oh my gosh, you just made my heart flutter." She admitted loudly.

"Look at you blushing. You're so cute." Kwon Jiyong smirked.

"Stop." Nabi said playfully. "When are your parents arriving?" She asked.

Kwon Jiyong released her and turned her around. Slightly slouching to see her face to face while their faces being a few inches apart. Nabi stared at him in shock, wondering what he was up to. Her button eyes widen at the close proximity between his face and her own. The heat that had recently left her cheeks, instantly came back, turning them bright pink.

"You've already met them." He smirked.

It took Nabi a second before it had finally dawned on her. "Oh my gosh!" She said covering her mouth. "They probably hate me now." She says, side stepping Kwon Jiyong.

Kwon Jiyong watched her walk away. "Where are you going?" He asked as he followed.

Nabi passed tent after tent as she rushed to Kwon Jiyong's parents. Kwon Jiyong had a feeling where she was headed to but he wasn't sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing. He couldn't figure out where she had received so much confidence from. It shocked him when Nabi stopped just before his parents tent with Dami sitting on the single couch out on the small deck. Dami looked up and smirked.

"Mom! Dad!" She said as she saw Nabi standing in front of them

Kwon Jiyong finally reached her and watched his parents exit from the inside of the tent to see what Dami was shouting for. They all stopped when Nabi was standing before them. Kwon Jiyong's mother agreed with her son at how cute Nabi is. She had that aegyo style that Korean girls were going under the knife for. She did question if everything on Nabi is real or not.

"I'm so sorry!" Nabi says giving a deep bow.

Dami chuckled. "I guess Jiyong told her." She whispered to her parents.

"Nabi-ssi?" His mom spoke up.

"Yes?" Nabi replied as she got up from her deep bow.

"You really didn't know it was us?" His mom asked.

Nabi bit her bottom lip, feeling guilty for not being able to know who his parents were. "I'm so sorry." She bowed again.

"Aye~" Kwon Jiyong's playful dad dragged out. "What's there to be sorry about?" He smiled.

Nabi straightened out of her bow. "I'm Park Nabi." She smiled while sticking out her hand.

"Nice to meet you." His mom says while shaking Nabi's hand. "Please, come sit." She pointed to the single couch across from where Dami was sitting.

Nabi nodded and sat on the chair, as everyone awkwardly stood around her. She stared at everyone who stared back at her with unreadable facial expressions She felt like they expected her to say something but she was waiting on them to start firing question after question. Even Kwon Jiyong didn't know what was going on as he stared at Nabi's frantic state. She was panicking, anyone could see it. However, she was trying her best to hide it with a smile. Though, the corners of her lips slightly trembled due to her unsettling nerves.

"Nabi-ssi, don't be nervous." Kwon Jiyong's mother smiled.

"Oh, you can speak informally to me." Nabi says.

"Can I? Nabi-ah?" She says with a light chuckle as she dropped formalities. "You haven't eaten yet. Right?" She smiled. "We prepared kimbap to eat once we arrived."

Kwon Jiyong rolled his lips into his mouth to stop himself from chuckling. Nabi's eyes grew wide at the challenge. Kwon Jiyong wanted to see if she was going to eat it normally or the way she wanted to. She liked to eat the seaweed last, which was weird to Kwon Jiyong because it was probably hard to peel the seaweed off.

"Here." Kwon Jiyong's mom handed her a plate with multiple pieces of sliced kimbap.

"Thank you. I will eat very well." Nabi says with a light bow.

(A/N: When receiving food from anyone there is an expression that must be said before and after eating. I'm not sure if you guys find "I will eat very well." Weird because it's not said in America or anywhere I know as a respectful way to accept food. So before eating it's 잘 먹겠습니다 (Jal moke get sum nida) which literally translates into I will eat well and after eating 잘 먹었습니다 (Jal moke got sum nida) and this translates into I ate well. Thank you for listening in on BeMostLike's sad excuse of a Korean lesson. 감사합니다 *bows annoyingly*)

Nabi shoved a piece of kimbap into her mouth and chewed on it. She smiled at Kwon Jiyong's family who stared at her expectantly. Nabi raised a thumbs up, indicating how good it tastes. Kwon Jiyong just chuckled to himself as he watched Nabi force herself to eat it like how everyone else ate it.

"You can eat it normally Nabi." Kwon Jiyong says.

Nabi looked at him and shook her head. "I don't know what you're talking about. This is fine." She lied while covering her kimbap filled mouth to speak to him.

"Wait what does he mean by normal?" Dami asks.

"I have no idea." Nabi says glaring at Kwon Jiyong.

Kwon Jiyong sighed. "I don't know either."

After eating, Kwon Jiyong's family began asking Nabi questions about herself. Normal questions people ask to get to know somebody. Most of the questions consisted of Nabi's own personal life. Like where she was from and what does she do for a living. A question she didn't want to hear was who were her father and mother. Her family background. She didn't know if they frowned upon people who get divorced because her parents are divorced.

"What is it that you do?" Kwon Dami asks.

"I'm a vocal coach for YG Entertainment. I train all the trainees." Nabi says.

"So you're a singer. Have you ever tried debuting as one?" Kwon Jiyong's mother asks.

Nabi smiled awkwardly. "I did but it didn't work out."

"That's too bad. I'm sure you would've been great." Kwon Dami complimented.

"Thank you. It just turned out that way." Nabi says.

"What do your parents do?" Kwon Jiyong's father asked.

Nabi sighed. "My mother is retired from running her business while my father runs the whole thing." Nabi says.

"Kwon Jiyong told us that you visit your mom in the country side. Is that where your father's business is at?" Kwon Jiyong's father asked.

Kwon Jiyong watched her carefully, as a small, unnoticeable, sigh left her mouth. "Uhm no. He lives in Seoul. Both my parents are divorced." She says, not wanting to lie to Kwon Jiyong's parents on the first meet.

Everyone stared at each other awkwardly. Nabi's pointer finger repeatedly tapped on her knee as she waited for the thick awkward air to die down. She felt bad for making things awkward but she didn't know what else to say. Even Kwon Jiyong was having a hard time re-starting the conversation and breaking all the awkward focus on Nabi. However, Nabi could almost scream of joy at hearing a heavenly voice, shattering the awkward air like it was a piece of glass.

"Hello everyone! Sorry we're late!" Bae Jang Mi's voice says cheerfully while carrying her bags.

"Saved by Jang Mi." Kwon Jiyong says, going to Nabi's side.

Nabi sighed a relieved sigh and nodded in agreement. She did indeed feel very thankful to Bae Jang Mi. She promised herself to treat her out for a meal. Even though she knew it was going to cost her. Heavily.

......

I think this fanfiction is going to be way longer than TOP's one. I'm just going with the flow. I have gotten comfortable with this style of writing. Lol. Was this chapter boring though? Let me know...

Oh my gosh. I don't know if anyone has seen this photo or how long it's been out but I'm just dying!

I mean this fanart is amazing~ but I'm dying cause Taeyang is Plankton who is short and tiny in both the fanart and in RL.

I'm probably the only one who finds it funny

While you guys are probably like...
