Chapter 45 - Camp Invitation
Kwon Jiyong entered Choi Seung-Hyun's property through his front gates, walking across the large courtyard to get to his front door. Without caring to knock, he walked in, smelling the amazing smell of Bae Jang Mi's wonderful cooking. Choi Seung-Hyun was sitting on the couch, reading a book in regular clothes.
"Jiyong-ah, you're finally here." Choi Seung-Hyun greeted.
"Hyung, where's Jang Mi?" He asked as he sat next to Choi Seung-Hyun.
"She's cooking." He shrugged.
"Are you going to make her cook every time? She's going to end up leaving you if you keep treating her like that." Kwon Jiyong teased.
Choi Seung-Hyun hissed. "I didn't ask her to cook." He says as he eyed Kwon Jiyong through his side view.
"Is that oppa?" Bae Jang Mi asked.
She walked out from the kitchen wearing an apron around shorts and an off the shoulder long sleeve. Her sleeves were currently rolled up to her elbows so she didn't mess them up while she worked on cooking. Meanwhile, her hands were preoccupied with long metal tongs with a large lobster, that was very much alive, as it squirmed while trying to get free.
"What the hell Jang Mi?" Kwon Jiyong asks as she walked out.
"What? Like this is the weirdest thing you've seen me doing?" She asked.
"Yes. Because walking around with a lobster firmly pinched between metal tongs is normal." Kwon Jiyong teased.
Bae Jang Mi scoffed. "If you think you're getting lobster with that attitude, you better think about it twice." She smiled anyways. "Surprisingly, you're not the one who's late. Where are those other people? I really need Hyorin eonni at the moment."
"I spoke with Daesung, he said that filming was taking longer than expected but he's currently on his way." Kwon Jiyong informed.
Bae Jang Mi smiled. "Great! I want to ask him if I can promote my album on his variety show when I debut properly." Bae Jang Mi smiles happily.
"Jang Mi." Kwon Jiyong says while pointing at her. "The lobster."
Bae Jang Mi looked at her tongs with wide eyes as she began to search the floor for the lobster that somehow escaped her grasp. She finally found it making it's way to the back room. She left the two men and went off to chase after the lobster.
"She really is clumsy." Kwon Jiyong says shaking his head.
"We both saw and heard the lobster fall from her grasp." Choi Seung-Hyun says shaking his head.
"Yeah, how could she not have noticed it falling?" Kwon Jiyong asks.
"It's because she's not only clumsy but she's also easily distracted, so she tends to not notice things like that." Choi Seung-Hyun replies. "I honestly don't know how she fights so well with such a weird personality."
Kwon Jiyong chuckled. "I've never seen her fight before so that is invalid."
"Trust me. She can fight." He replied. "What about you and that Nabi girl?"
"That's actually why I called you all here." Kwon Jiyong informed.
"So you're dating her?" Choi Seung-Hyun asks.
"Yeah." Kwon Jiyong smiled a cheeky smile while Choi Seung-Hyun shook his head knowing all too well.
After awhile at Choi Seung-Hyun's house, the other band mates arrived with little things to add for the dinner like wine or a bag of chips that Seungri claimed that he hadn't opened but it randomly popped open while he was driving to Choi Seung-Hyun's house, which of course nobody believed him. Min Hyorin instantly went to work with Bae Jang Mi to help with cooking, even though everyone knew that Min Hyorin couldn't cook to save her life. The guys were in the living room discussing, whatever they were discussing.
"Does it look cooked?" Min Hyorin asked.
Bae Jang Mi looked up from the counter where she was currently cutting dry seaweed into small squares, and looked over to Min Hyorin who held a black lobster between metal tongs.
"Eonni!" Bae Jang Mi said shaking her head while pointing at the lobster. "I just put that in to steam. That was the last one. You're slowing down the process." She complained.
"I thought it was burning because it's black." Min Hyorin said placing it back in the pot.
"It's still moving!" Bae Jang Mi closed her eyes. "Have you ever eaten black lobster? No! Because they turn red from black!" She said shaking her head.
The guys stopped all their conversation as they all looked at each other. They over heard the two shouting in the kitchen from where they were all gathered at. In an instant, the five men in the room began laughing as quietly as possible, in hopes that the girls don't hear their laughter.
"I told you guys she couldn't cook and Ramyeon definitely doesn't count." Youngbae says between his chuckles.
"Everyone should at least know that most lobsters are black and turn red from steaming." Daesung chuckled.
"Seriously. I can't believe Hyorin Noona doesn't know that much." Seungri says wiping at a stray tear from the laughter he had a hard time containing.
"Can Park Nabi cook?" Choi Seung-Hyun asks after calming down from his laugh.
Kwon Jiyong straightened out his body and proudly nodded. "I've only ever tasted her cooking once. It was pretty good."
"So it's only my girl friend who doesn't know how to cook?" Youngbae questioned with a shake of his head.
"Hyung, it's okay. Just get lessons together." Daesung smirks.
They began talking for awhile, mostly catching up with each other. They wanted to know how Daesung was doing as a set cast member for his variety show. He's been busy attending a lot of celebrations with fans not just in Korea but over seas as well. Daesung couldn't contain the happiness about how successful the show was becoming as it has only been airing for a couple of months.
Youngbae was enjoying his time off with Min Hyorin who wasn't in a rush to find a drama or movie to star in. Mostly paying attention to her variety show that was struggling to get higher rates in Korea's Entertainment world. It worried her a lot but she couldn't do much about it but continue to do her best for every episode. Besides that, Youngbae enjoyed having more time with his girlfriend whenever he had the chance to.
Seungri was busy with his dance studios that were placed all over Korea. He tended to get asked by high end entertainment companies to give reviews on dancers for recruiting of new trainees. That was hard to work with, seeing as a lot of Entertainment Companies were very picky with their who it was that Seungri would suggest which made more stress fall onto his shoulders. He was trying his best to visit all of the dance studios to check up on the students and the teachers who were all working hard under his studio. He wanted to make sure that his dance school was doing the best to further each dancer to the best of their potential.
Meanwhile, Bae Jang Mi had been working hard on her album so that President Yang can set up a proper debut for her. Choi Seung-Hyun was still busy visiting art gallerys not only in Korea but over seas, while searching for the right script that was tempting enough for him to actually want to be a part of it. He hasn't found one that had caught his eye yet.
"Finally!" Seungri says as Bae Jang Mi and Hyorin set down the plates with lobster and other things onto the table. "What was taking you guys so long?"
"What took us so long was trying to free the lobster that we bought for you." Bae Jang Mi says eyeing him down for rushing her cooking.
As everyone sat around and began to dig in, Kwon Jiyong decided to start the serious conversation that he wanted to have with his band mates. After being band mates for so long, with one being married and the other being in a long term relationship, he felt that, before he can move any further with Nabi, she needed to be, not only formally introduced to his immediate family members but also his band mates who he considered blood brothers.
"So my parents are going to be meeting Nabi this weekend." Kwon Jiyong says.
Bae Jang Mi smiled happily. "That's great! She must be so nervous."
Seungri smiled. "Where are you guys going to meet at? Are you going to take her to your house?"
Kwon Jiyong shook his head. "My mom wanted to go camping. Probably next weekend since she's going to Jeju this weekend."
"Camping? That doesn't sound too bad." Hyorin says while eating a piece of lobster meat.
"Yeah, I wanted to ask if you guys wanted to come?" Kwon Jiyong asks.
"I'm free next weekend." Bae Jang Mi smiled, without talking about it with Choi Seung-Hyun.
"I guess I'm coming too." Choi Seung-Hyun added.
"I can make it too." Seungri added.
"Sorry, I can't. I have filming next weekend." Daesung says. "It does sound fun though."
"That's alright Daesung." Kwon Jiyong smiles. "You'll be able to meet Nabi properly soon." He smiled. "Youngbae? Hyorin noona?"
"I can make it." Hyorin smiles. "Youngbae isn't doing anything either."
"That's great!" Kwon Jiyong cheered. "Nabi and I are going to be there in the morning and you guys can arrive there at night. I want Nabi to meet them first. I even told Dami Noona to ask her friends to arrive at night, after Nabi meets my family."
"Okay!" Seungri smiles.
"Cool." Bae Jang Mi says. "Now let's eat."
