Chapter 39 - The Time Spent Without You

Nabi made her way into the Entertainment company and entered her classroom. However, she was surprised to find it empty. She wondered if anyone tried to call her to tell her anything about the trainees and their whereabouts but when she woke up in the morning and checked her phone, it was dead. Apparently she plugged her charger into her phone but had forgotten to plug it into the electric plug, so she had no way of knowing anything.

Nabi exited the classroom and headed up the flights of stairs before reaching the floor her uncle's office was located on. She made her way down the surprisingly empty hall and made her way to the door of her uncle's office. She knocked twice before hearing her uncle's muffled voice allowing her to enter.

"What are you doing here Nabi?" President Yang asks her.

Nabi looked at him oddly. "What?"

"I left you a ton of messages." He sighs.

"My phone is dead. I forgot to charge it last night." Nabi replied. "Is everyone alright?"

President Yang nodded. "Yes everyone is fine. The trainees went to a three day event alongside other trainees in other companies, if they were invited to the event. I forgot to remind you about that over the weekend. It must have slipped my mind. You have three days off." He smiles.

"What am I going to do?" She asks. "I don't have anything else to do."

"Maybe you can help Jang Mi on her album. Jinu fell sick with the stomach flew and Jiyong is busy. As you know. Teddy is helping others at the moment." He smiles. "Maybe you can even sing."

Nabi rolled her eyes. "Ha. Ha. Ha. Very funny."

Nabi exited her uncle's office after bowing and made her way down the hall, peaking into each door to find the room that Bae Jang Mi was working in. When she finally found it, she was surprised to see what she happening inside the room. Bae Jang Mi was on the back of a very muscular man, in Nabi's oppinion, pulling his hair with one hand, an arm wrapped around the front of his neck in a choke hold while her legs wrapped around his waist. Another body stood inside just shaking his head at the two, totally not phased by what he was witnessing. She remembered him from the force get together on the rooftop of the dorm building. His name is Jisoo.

"You're no help!" Nabi heard Bae Jang Mi yelled.

"You're the one who asked for my help. How is it my fault?" The man asks.

Bae Jang Mi jumped down from the man's back and swung her leg back before kicking the man's shin. To Nabi's surprise the guy actually caught it. Nabi has never seen Bae Jang Mi so violent. In a way, it made Nabi giggle to herself. She couldn't believe Bae Jang Mi was fighting with a man who's figure sure passed six feet, while she stopped at a good five three.

"All I asked you to do was press a few buttons to help me record a song." Bae Jang Mi snapped at him.

"I did press a few buttons." He argued.

"Yeah playing and pressing are two different things. You pressed a button that made my voice higher so I sounded like a singing chipmunk!" She said punching the man's chest who wasn't phased by the impact. "I recorded the whole song in that voice."

"Noona!" Ji Soo says.

"What?" Bae Jang Mi asks in a total different tone. A nicer one.

"Over there." Ji Soo nodded his head towards Nabi.

"Eonni!" Bae Jang Mi smiles once she spotted Nabi standing at the doorway. "Finally! A professional who isn't an idiot." Bae Jang Mi says as she made her way towards Nabi and took her into a nice warm hug.

"I came here to help you. It's your fault you asked the wrong person." He says while plopping himself onto the couch.

"That's my idiot brother, Ji Hoon. You can just ignore him." Bae Jang Mi says rolling her eyes. "Jinu sunbaenim is sick. I need help." She smiled. "I know your off today."

Nabi raised a brow. "How did you know that?" She asked.

"It's Trainee Day. Where trainees get together from a variety of different companies to play around." Bae Jang Mi smiled.

"I don't remember ever attending that when I was a trainee." Nabi says thinking back.

"You have to be invited." Bae Jang Mi smiles. "Most entertainment companies do get invited but a lot turn it down because they don't think it's a time for trainees to be playing around. This is the first time YG Entertainment had agreed to join." She explained.

"Oh I was under CJ Entertainment. I guess they turned that down a lot too." Nabi shrugged.

Bae Jang Mi smiled. "They started this about four to five years ago. I'm not too sure if you were here during those times but yeah..." She dragged. "Anyway, are you going to help me?" She asks.

"Of course." Nabi nodded as she went to the sound board and sat at the chair. "My uncle doesn't usually let people record when a sunbaenim isn't here." Nabi pointed out.

"Oh I begged him." Bae Jang Mi smirked.

"Threatened. You threatened him." Ji Hoon spoke up.

"I did not!" She argued back.

"Yes you did." He rolled his eyes. "I can record by myself. Jinu sunbaenim is going to be so happy. If you don't, I'll spill your secrets."

"What I said was-" Bae Jang Mi began.

"Anyway!" Nabi says stopping the argument. "Let's record!"

Bae Jang Mi sighed while making her way into the booth. Nabi hit a button where it would start the music and once Bae Jang Mi was cued in to begin, Nabi began adjusting nobs that would help fix the chipmunk effect that was played over her voice. She didn't want to touch too much things that would effect the beat in anyway but she went on fixing whatever damage Ji Hoon had caused when 'helping' his sister.

To Ji Hoon and Ji Soo, she looked like she knew what she was doing. Nabi had a leg folded up to her chest while the other one help push her from side to side as her hands moved around on the board fixing things. Her head nodded along with the beat as Bae Jang Mi continued singing in the booth. Once Nabi felt like everything was back to normal, she stopped the music and it caused Bae Jang Mi to look out the big glass.

"I finally fixed everything. Your brother has done quite the damage but it seems like the beat hasn't been touched or altered so that's good. You're going to have to sing it again because the beginning was recorded with the chipmunk effect." Nabi smiled.

Bae Jang Mi nodded. "Alright."

...

By the time Nabi gotten back to her dorm, she was exhausted. Helping Bae Jang Mi while her brothers were there, felt much more worst than it was training a trainee who couldn't speak Korean or couldn't sing. Nabi felt her head throbbing just being in the same room with those two. She didn't mind Bae Jang Mi nor did she have anything against her brother, but when they were together, she just couldn't handle them. She felt jealous of Ji Soo who had developed the ability to withstand the two during their arguments. He had never moved from his spot or said anything when the two argued.

"I wish I could drink." She sighed as she began removing the layer of clothes she had worn out.

As soon as she was in her bra and underwear, she made her way to the bathroom with her piles of clothes, throwing it in the washer that hid away in her bathroom's closet, and mad her way for the shower. Where she stripped the last pieces of clothing off before jumping in and warming up her body from the cold air.

She was in there for about an hour and a half, just letting her body take in the hot shower before she finally jumped out and wrapped a towel around herself.

Nabi began drying herself off before getting dressed in a large t-shirt and cotton shorts, ready to go to bed. However, she couldn't sleep. She ended up in her living room with a pot of ramyeon to herself while watching gag concert that was replaying.

The hunger she was feeling was overwhelming. She had three packages of ramyeon in the pot as she began slurping up noodles like no tomorrow. She was laughing loudly and obnoxiously due to the comedy displayed on the television. She was feeling more relaxed but she missed Kwon Jiyong. She was trying to keep herself busy while he was away. She couldn't talk to him all day because of her phone issue. Which was probably why her day wasn't going too well.

Suddenly, Nabi heard her front door unlock with a playful tune. She reached for the remote and shut the television off to make sure she wasn't hearing things. When she heard shuffling and groaning, she began to panic. She stood up with her chopsticks in her hand, ready to fight off whoever it was that entered her dorm unwelcomed. She slowly, made her way to her front door with her chopsticks mid-air before dropping them in shock at who she saw.

"Jiyong oppa!" She says going to his side as he struggled to walk. "Are you drunk?"
