Chapter 33 - What To Do
Nabi sighed as she sat on her bed. She had been texting Kwon Jiyong but had gotten no reply. It was like he had said, he wouldn't be able to tend to her like a normal guy would. She couldn't believe how busy he was that he couldn't send a simple text message. Just an emoji. That's all she asked for. Bae Jang Mi had said that even when Choi Seung-Hyun was busy, he would always text her. So she didn't understand why it was so hard for him to send a simple emoji.
Nabi stood up and sighed. She was over it. She needed to get ready for work. She headed for the bathroom where she brushed her teeth, fixed her hair and applied makeup. She then proceeded back to her room where she stripped out of her pajamas and into something comfortable. She wore long Johns under her skinny jeans to help keep her warm and she wore a regular t-shirt. She picked up her big black jacket with fur on the hood and pulled both sides over her shoulders as she slipped both arms in. The jacket went down to he knees and definitely felt warm enough to take on winter.
After leaving the building, she felt the cold air instantly hitting her face. She sighed and noticed the light cloud that left her mouth when she did so. She began making her way to the YG Building that wasn't far from the dorms. However, the cold winter made it feel like forever. It hadn't yet snowed but the clouds hanging around in the sky showed that it would snow soon. Despite that fact, the streets were crowded. People covering their bodies from head to toe to protect themselves from the freezing winter air.
The building was buzzing with employees working. Black vans lined the parking lot, setting idols ready to go with their schedule for the day. Nabi waved to the security guard who let her pass through the door with a smile. Almost instantly the warmth of the building hit her and she shrugged off her jacket and held it in her arms
Like the past few days, she hasn't heard anything from Kwon Jiyong. Not one simple emoji like he had said he would try to do. She wasn't going to lie and say it didn't hurt her. Of course she watched his performances here and there. She's seen photos of him online and on jumbo screens around the city. She's heard about his up coming appearances on different variety shows. She has also heard he was going to do a few interviews over sea. Attend fashion shows and after performing on music shows he's going to hold a solo concert around Asia for a six days. All of this had reached her own ears by the mouth of her uncle. Who was dying to tell her what his schedule looked like.
"Teacher, you're here." Nabi stopped while entering her class. "We were waiting for you." One of the boys say.
"What are you guys doing here? Are you guys going to keep bugging me about your debut date? You guys should really talk about it with President Yang." Nabi says walking to her desk.
"Good news. We're going to be debut in a few days." Park Sung Wook says.
Nabi clapped happily for them. "That's good. I'm so proud of you guys." She smiled. "So when are your videos being released?" Nabi asked.
Kang Won Sik spoke up. "Our posters on 'Who's Next?' Is being released tomorrow."
"And then our music video is being released in four days. Then our debut stage is on Music Bank four days after that." Kang Joon Ki says with excitement. "You're going to be coming right?" He asks. "It's on a Friday so you can't say you're teaching."
"Joon Ki-ah!" Nabi sighed. "I thought you guys wouldn't remember." She pouted. "Fine. I don't understand why I have to be there."
"You're like our mom." Song In Soo cheers.
Nabi looked at him weirdly. "I've only been your teacher for two months. I'm also too young to be your mom. We're probably six years apart. I'm barely a teacher." She says. "Let alone a mother figure."
"I think you're an amazing teacher!" Song In Soo says.
Nabi felt her heart warm up at the group's maknae. "This noona will come and visit you." She sighed and waved Song In Soo over and gave him a hug. "Now go! Practice makes perfect." She smiled and shouted out the group's name. "Warriors fighting!" She waved as they left. She sighed. "It had to be Music Bank." She sighed out.
....
"Anyways, you have to make sure when you're just sitting and resting after performing, that you're warming your vocals properly and not just letting them stay like that. Especially after you're singing." Nabi explained. "Now go. I'm sure you're all busy with dances with the choreographer. She says you're not that we'll at dancing."
"Maria." Yebin says while the other girls snickered in agreement.
"Okay, I know I get confused on certain steps. I don't know if we're stepping on three or after three. The counts always throw me off." Maria explains.
Before Nabi could reply, someone entered and walked in. "Don't worry too much about it. YG is full of talented people who don't dance well. Regardless of what they say. I should know. I married one." Bae Jang Mi giggled.
"Nation's Ideal Type." Yebin whispered to Kyung-Lim who nodded in awe at Bae Jang Mi's beauty.
"Am I early?" Bae Jang Mi asks as she approached Nabi.
Nabi chuckled. "Early for what?" She asks.
Bae Jang Mi gave Nabi a dumbfounded look. "To eat lunch. People eat lunch everyday." She chuckled shaking her head.
"I'll see you all later. Please! For the warming of your vocal's sake. No cold stuff!" Nabi shouted to her class as they walked out. She then turned to Bae Jang Mi and smiled. "Alright. Let's go."
Both Bae Jang Mi and Nabi made their way to leave the building. They both pulled a thick jacket over their bodies, readying themselves for their cold walk out into the public. Bae Jang Mi took hold of Nabi's hand and they walked out hand in hand with Bae Jang Mi leading the way.
The walk wasn't long since they just went to a nearby food joint. They entered a fried chicken joint and sat near a window where they could chat away from the other tables. Nabi expected Bae Jang Mi to have friends this time but she didn't. It surprised her.
"So have you spoken with Jiyong oppa in awhile?" Bae Jang Mi asks.
Nabi sighed but shook her head. "I told him he didn't have to text me full sentences. Just emojis is all I needed. Something simple." She sighed. "Yet, he hasn't replied a single word at all. Not even an emoji."
Bae Jang Mi sat there with a weird look. She found it weird that Kwon Jiyong hadn't replied to any of Nabi's text messages because a few days ago Bae Jang Mi texted him to let him know she was starting to work on her album. Although he replied a few hours later, he still replied. He told Bae Jang Mi that he wished he was there to help with the album but was too busy working. Of course she understood. Still, Bae Jang Mi didn't know why Kwon Jiyong didn't reply to any of Nabi's texts. If he replied to the text message she had sent him, then there shouldn't be a problem for him to reply to any of Nabi's messages.
For protection reasons and reasons not to instigate or involving herself in other people's relationships, she didn't tell Nabi that Kwon Jiyong had been able to text her a few days ago. It was none of her business. She was here to give Nabi advice when needed but she couldn't tell her something that could already break any type of future relationship between the two.
"Yeah. That sucks." Bae Jang Mi says not knowing what else to say. "Let's order some chicken." Bae Jang Mi says awkwardly getting out of her chair to order the food.
"Alright." Nabi says not noticing the awkward way Bae Jang Mi had just left.
....
