Chapter 30 - Sending Off

"Knowing that I'm going to be gone for awhile, and not being able to stay by your side, even just for a little while, I still selfishly want you." Kwon Jiyong says truthfully. "I need to know if you're going to be with me, knowing all of this?"

Shocked from what he said, Nabi stood there with wide eyes. "You want to be with me?" Nabi asked. "But why? I'm so weird."

Kwon Jiyong chuckled. "You're cute and sweet. You also slapped me. You caused some internal war the day I met you. I never understood why you didn't like me. Being in a relationship on false terms is crazy, yes but your face showed how much you disliked me. You drove me crazy the day I met you, literally."

Nabi shook her head. "I didn't know that's how you took it. I didn't even know who you were back then but my uncle put me in an uncomfortable situation. I wasn't disgusted with you, I was disgusted with the idea of fake dating anyone. It had nothing to do with you. To be honest I didn't really see who it was since I was being dramatic and crying." She smiled. "Are you sure you want to do this? It's only been two months and you know nothing about me. I also know nothing about you."

Kwon Jiyong nodded. "You're right. We don't know each other well. I do know that there is something here. Something between us. Out of all the girls I've dated...." Nabi gave him a deadpan look which caused him to change up his words. "Out of all the people I've met, I've never felt this odd connection with someone."

"I don't know what you want me to do." Nabi says confused.

"I want you to be patient with me. While I'm busy, I want to know that you're waiting for me." Kwon Jiyong sighs. "Nobody was able to wait for me. None of them cared enough to stay. To me these were just flings because nobody was able to handle my busy schedule. None of them understood."

"So you want me to understand?" Nabi asks. "You want me to understand that you're going to be busy and knowing that you selfishly want me to be with you so that when you comeback, you have something to comeback to. You won't text me, call me, visit me, or anything because of work. Is that right?"

"When you put it that way, you make me sound like a douche." Kwon Jiyong says.

Nabi sighs. "Are you willing to give up your career for me?" She asks seriously.

Kwon Jiyong's hands dropped from her cheeks and he took a step, backing away from her. He was starting to think Nabi is crazier than he thought. From the glint in her eyes, he could tell she was being serious. To give up his own career for a girl he's been dating for two months, not to mention the fact that it's fake, it sounded way too crazy to him. He knew with his heart that he could never give up his career as a musician, an artist, a composer and a producer. He just couldn't but then Nabi smiled.

"Of course you can't give up your career for me. I don't expect you to." She smiles, now placing both of her hands over his surprisingly impressive jaw line and rubbed his skin with her thumbs. "I know dating isn't easy for idols. Especially since you're working on your comeback." She sighs. "So let's not date."

"But..."

"Like I said, we don't know each other well since it's only been two months." Nabi smiles.

"Trust me, I know it's weird. It's weird for me too." Kwon Jiyong smiles, running his hand through her hair.

"Let's get to know each other first. Let's set some rules. Let's not jump into it too fast. Let's take it slow." She suggested. "Let's get in the car and turn up the heater because I'm freezing." She quickly added.

Kwon Jiyong nodded, walking Nabi to the other side of the car for her to get in. As Nabi got in, he quickly jogged over to the driver's side. She kept rushing him to start the car and crank up the heater. Her fingers felt like eskemos ice fishing in Alaska while watching Frozen. Even her face was numb.

Kwon Jiyong just sat in the driver seat, knowing he was freezing, but he sat there staring at Nabi as she took in the heat that blew from the air vents of his car. He sat there smiling at her, as she stuck her hands out to catch as much heat to them as possible. Small mumbles of words weren't audible but her lips moved as she spoke to herself. Kwon Jiyong guessed that she was speaking about how warm she was getting or how cold she was. Either way, he found it cute.

"Alright, we'll take this slow. Let's start off with getting to know each other by asking question." Kwon Jiyong smiles. "What type of music do you like?"

Nabi shrugged. "Good music." She smiled.

Kwon Jiyong nodded. "Good answer."

"What's your favorite food?" Nabi asks.

"Doughnuts." He says truthfully.

Nabi stared at him oddly. "Doughnuts?" She asked. "Out of all the food in the world, it's doughnuts?"

He nodded. "What about you? What's your favorite?"

Nabi sighed dreamily. "My favorite food has to be fried chicken." She smiled. "Do you have other friends besides your band mates?"

"Yes. A lot in the fashion world as well as in the entertainment industry. I wouldn't say best friends but every now and then we'd get together." Kwon Jiyong nodded as he explained.

"What do you guys do when you guys get together?" She asks tilting her head.

He hesitated. "Just, you know, hang out. Go to bars and whatnot. Maybe even a club." Kwon Jiyong flinched when Nabi gasped.

"I've never been to a club." Nabi's eyes sparkled. "Is it fun? I've always wanted to go to one during Halloween when everyone dresses up. It looks like fun." She says.

"Why haven't you gone to one?" He asked.

Nabi sighed. "I had an odd dedication to my responsibilities back then. By the time I left the music industry," She paused and look at Kwon Jiyong. "I won't elaborate." He held his hands up in defense while shaking his head. "By the time I let the music industry, I was old enough to go clubbing already but it just wasn't a good time for me." She chuckled humorlessly. "Anyways," She started back up. "Are you close with Jang Mi-ssi and Hyorin-ssi?" She asks.

"I'm not that close with Min Hyorin, but I guess Jang Mi is like my younger sibling." Kwon Jiyong smiles. "She's very persistent when making friends."

Nabi chuckled. "I know."

"Do you like her?" Kwon Jiyong asks.

Nabi nodded. "Yeah, she's weird. You know after we ate that lunch together, I found a sticky note on my bag."

Kwon Jiyong chuckled. "She does that a lot. What did it say?"

"Nabi unni! Squiggly line. Squiggly line. I had a great time eating! Next time you treat?" Nabi says in an attempt to impersonate Bae Jang Mi's voice.

"That cheapskate." He said shaking his head. "Her and her brother are the cheapest people you'll ever meet."

Nabi shrugged. "Joo Won is the same believe it or not. He'd probably say I'm pretty cheap too." She chuckled.

"You only ever mention your mom. Where's your dad?" Kwon Jiyong asks.

Nabi took awhile to answer. "Like I said it's complicated." She chuckled. "My parents are not together."

"Sorry. I shouldn't have asked about a sensitive topic." Kwon Jiyong says.

Nabi shook her head. "No. We're asking questions to get to know each other so you shouldn't apologize. I'm just being sensitive." She smiles while patting his hand. "Alright my turn." Nabi thought for a second. "Who is your-" before Nabi could finish her sentence, her phone began ringing, as well as Kwon Jiyong's phone. "You can take it." She says as she took her phone and answered it. "Hello?"

"Is this Park Nabi?" A man on the other end asks.

Nabi looked around and cupped mouth to whisper so that Kwon Jiyong wouldn't hear her. "If you're calling about a bill, I'm paying most of it-"

"No. No. It's nothing about a bill." The man chuckles. "My name is Kang Min Woo, a reporter at BeMostLike Group for their Gossip page in BeMostLike's magazine. I'm calling about your relationship between you and G-Dragon. I want you to confirm or deny any speculations towards you two."

Nabi's head snapped to Kwon Jiyong who had his eyes furrowed out in anger as he spoke on the phone. "A....A, relationship with who?"

The man couldn't continue as Kwon Jiyong snatched her phone out of her hand and slid his finger across the screen to end the phone call. Nabi looked at him like he was crazy. The phone rang again and Kwon Jiyong angrily took the backing of Nabi's phone as well as taking out the battery and placed the phone on his dashboard.

"What's going on?" Nabi asked. "That was a reporter that just called me."

"I'll get you a new phone with a new number." He says pulling the seat belt to buckle himself in. "Buckle your belt, lets get going."

Nabi did as he asked and looked at him as he drove out of the parking lot for the park. "Who were you speaking to?" She asked.

"It was my manager." He sighed. "He told me that there was a picture of us at that convenience store as well as random photos of us in the park. I mean I knew it was going to happen, but I didn't expect it to happen this fast."

"What was going to happen?" Nabi asked seriously.

"Our dating rumor is now in publish companies. President Yang had gotten what he wanted out of this." Kwon Jiyong says. "Now we just have to wait until it quiets down."

Nabi sighed as she sunk deeper into her seat. Kwon Jiyong's free hand reached over and took hold of Nabi's hand in his. She looked over at him as he smiled reassuringly down at her. She didn't know what was going to happen next.

.....

Nabi smiled. "See you later loser." She says.

Nara just stood there with her luggage. "Bye you fatty."

Nabi's eyes began brimming with tears. It will be awhile before she'll be able to see her younger sister again. There wasn't any break for her in Japan. Nara wanted to come to Korea the moment she heard that both Nabi and her mom was going back to Korea from America. She was dying to see her mom so she left school for three weeks to stay in Korea with her mom. Their mom didn't know and she didn't need to know.

"I'm going to miss you." Nara says running to Nabi and squeezing her into a tight hug.

Nabi looked up to stop the tears from falling. "Do well in your studies and don't misbehave." She says choking up.

"Tell mom I love her and to take care of her health." Nara says.

Nabi nodded and pushed Nara's shoulder to look at her. "I will. You take care too. We'll see each other soon."

Nara nodded knowing that 'soon' meant that she wouldn't be able to see her in a long while. She stepped away from Nabi and took hold of the handle for her duffle bag. Nabi watched Nara turn and walk away with her luggage following behind her. She walked to the entrance behind the airport security to take her to her gate. A tear slid down Nabi's cheek watching her sister leave but she knew it was for the best that Nara doesn't stay in Korea too long.

Nabi took out her phone, her new one that Kwon Jiyong bought. She dialed her mom's number as she headed out of the airport, sniffling from crying. She kept wiping at her tears and wiping at her nose as she cleared her throat to talk to her mom.

"Hello?" Nabi's mom answered.

"Hey mom, I just sent Nara off." Nabi says walking to the parking lot of the airport.

"Nabi? Why are you calling from a weird number? What happened to your phone?" She asked.

"Long story." She sighed into the phone while beeping her car unlocked.

"Okay. Did Nara leave alright? She didn't cry did she?" Her mom asked.

Nabi chuckled, causing more tears to fall. "Of course she cried. She's going to miss me so much." She joked as she was getting into her car. "I'm going to miss her."

Nabi's mom nodded knowing her daughter can't see her. "You two will be fine. "

"I know. We just never get to see her. Of course it's going to hurt this unni when she leaves." Nabi sighs. "Anyways, I'm driving over right now."

"Alright. Drive safely."

Nabi hung up and began her long journey to her mom.
