Chapter 29 - A Date
Nabi smiled as she waved off to the last bit of trainees that she was helping during vocal practice. She began packing her belongings and organizing the papers President Yang required her to fill out on the progress of each trainee. It was due today which is why she was headed to her uncle's office.
Nabi sighed as she pulled her handbag up her shoulder, and straightened up the paper work, she hugged the paper work close to her chest as she exited the training room. She of course, made sure Joo Won was nowhere in site, not sure if he was still holding a grudge against her or not. She made her way down the busy halls, passing idols like it was normal. She was happy her day continued on smoothly. It was the weekend so she was also happy because her sister is going back to where she came from. Not literally but just back to Japan.
"Nabi." President Yang smiles as Nabi entered his office.
Nabi bowed and smiled. "Hello uncle." She walked up to his desk and piled the stacks of paper onto the wooden top. "I've finished the paper work on trainee evaluation."
President Yang nodded with a dissatisfied expression. "More paper work." He said in feign excitement.
Nabi chuckled. "You ordered it and I obliged. Anyways, I've got to go home and shower." Nabi bowed as she got ready to learn. "Hope the company is working well. Jiyong and I are getting along quite well." She said in a monotonous way while exiting President Yang's office.
As soon as Nabi walked down the hall and away from her uncle's office, she was pushed, causing her to be pushed into a corner. Nabi turned ready to snap but stopped and gulped as she saw Kwon Jiyong's piercing eyes stare at her. Her eyes grew noticeably big as she stared at him. He gotten closer to her, cornering her in with a smirk.
"Dwaeji." He says lowly.
"Could you stop calling me that?" She asks breaking eye contact.
"What? Dwaeji? Why?" He smirks placing his hand on the wall right next to Nabi's head and leaning all his weight on it. "I think it's cute."
"You're basically calling me fat." Nabi sighed biting her bottom lip.
Kwon Jiyong's eyes fell from hers, down to her redden cheeks and a smile crept up his lips. "You owe me a date. Let's get going."
"But I...I haven't showered yet. I was dancing all day with the trainees and I was sweating a lot earlier. Plus my hair is all...."
"You look and smell fine." Kwon Jiyong says. "Let's go."
Nabi looked down at her wrist. It was being tightly gripped by Kwon Jiyong as he led her down the steps to the YG lobby. There, he stopped at one of the many tables and chairs and took a thick winter jacket off of one of the chairs. He placed it around Nabi, helping her pull her arms through the thick coat. Kwon Jiyong paid no attention to the curious eyes that would glance their way and then return to whisper amongst the group they were currently mingling with. Nabi just stood there with wide eyes and helplessly let him take control of her arms and her body. Her brain was no longer working anyways.
"Does that feel warm?" He asks.
Nabi nodds. "What about you?" She says pointing at his lack of warm clothes on his body.
"I have mines right here." He says taking the other jacket off of the chair.
Nabi watched as he pulled the jacket over his body and zipped it up. He went over to Nabi and zipped up her jacket, then placing his hand over her warm redden cheek. He smiled rubbing the smooth surface of her cheek with a thumb. After admiring her soft skin and cheeks, that were getting redder by the second, and her big brown button eyes that stared at him with curiosity, he was ready to go.
"Let's go." He said taking his hand off from her cheek down to her wrist and took her to his car.
....
Nabi sighed awkwardly as she stared out the front window of the car. Her hands stayed glued to the strap of her seat belt, playing with it as it went across her chest. The awkward air between the two was evident in only Nabi. Kwon Jiyong didn't really care. His head nodded along with the soft song that played on the radio. Even his finger danced, as they tapped against the steering which. She hated how free he was being and it annoyed her.
"Please say something." Nabi finally says.
"What do you want me to say?" Kwon Jiyong asks.
"The fact that you circled around this block five times is annoying me." Nabi says truthfully. "Why aren't you mad at me for what I did last night?" She asks.
"I am mad but I'm taking responsibility for what I did." Kwon Jiyong says.
"What did you do? I was the one that slapped you." Nabi complained. "I need you to yell at me or something."
Kwon Jiyong chuckled. "I'm not that mad. It was my fault for kissing you and then ignoring you for two days."
"Can you stop circling around the block?" Nabi asked.
"Fine. Let's go to a park."
Nabi nodded. Kwon Jiyong finally drove off the repeated pattern of circling around the block, and onto a road that would actually lead somewhere. Nabi just sat there, occasionally looking over at Kwon Jiyong who drove. She hadn't noticed that he parked the car in front of a convenient store. She looked at him and he just shrugged. Nabi tried opening the door but just like outside of Kwon Jiyong's car, the inside had no handles. Of course, Kwon Jiyong helped her out by opening the door for her.
With that, they walked side by side as they entered the store. The store clerk already took notice as to who had entered, even though Kwon Jiyong was all covered up due to the cold outside and he even wore a mouth mask, but he was instantly noticed. The store clerk even noticed Nabi who Kwon Jiyong was talking and interacting with. It brought curiosity onto the store clerk herself and that wasn't going to be good. She took out her phone and secretly snapped a photo of the two trying to buy a bag of chips.
Nabi looked over at Kwon Jiyong. "Do we really need food to be walking around the park?" She asked.
"I don't know about you, but I'm hungry." He smirked. "Let's get some Triangle Kimbap."
Nabi smiled and eagerly nodded. "How about some chocolate?" She asked.
"Yeah chocolate and Kimbap." He says rolling his eyes.
"What? You can never go wrong with chocolate." Nabi shrugs.
After the two placed the things they wanted onto the counter, Kwon Jiyong pulled out his wallet and paid while Nabi took hold of the bag the clerk handed to her. Of course, the clerk had curious eyes towards the two, something both Nabi and Kwon Jiyong were oblivious to. The store clerk had gotten a good picture of the two roaming around the store. One she will upload to SNS and of course soon start an uproar.
....
Nabi and Kwon Jiyong walked around the park. Both talking about nothing in particular. Nabi had Kwon Jiyong's bags of chips as he continued to tell Nabi to throw chips into his mouth. None of the chips actually made it into Kwon Jiyong's mouth. As she kept throwing them, he kept missing them. And before they knew it, the bag of chips became empty which caused the two to laugh out loud at the waste of a good bag of chips.
Once their laughter died down, they both hadn't notice how close she had gotten to each other. They both looked down to their hands to see their fingers slowly intertwine. She rubbed her thumb over his soft skin. He smiled at her and with his free hand, he cupped one of her redden cheeks. He wasn't sure if they were red due to the cold or due to her blushing.
This time, he didn't lean in slowly, he instantly took her lips with his and kissed her. He could taste the chocolate she had eaten in the car and it mixed well with her. Their lips moved in sync with each other as they tasted each other. Their intertwined hands had been released and Nabi wrapped her arms around Kwon Jiyong's neck, while his hand slipped away from her cheek and both of his hands wrapped around Nabi's waist, pulling her impossibly closer to him.
When they pulled apart, due to the fact that they weren't breathing, Kwon Jiyong placed a hand over her cheek while placing his forehead on hers. He kept his eyes closed while Nabi stared straight at him. She couldn't understand what was going on and neither could he. After taking one large intake, Kwon Jiyong pulled away from Nabi. He took hold of her hand, intertwining them and placed their intertwined hands into the pocket of his jacket, causing Nabi to be pulled closer to him.
"Let's go?" He asked as Nabi just nodded. "Good because coming to the park during winter is not anywhere near fun."
Nabi laughed. "You're the one who suggested it."
Kwon Jiyong chuckled. "I should've done something where we just stayed inside."
Nabi nodded. "So what now?" She asked as they approached Kwon Jiyong's car and stood next to it.
Kwon Jiyong sighed looking at Nabi. He let go of her hand and opened the car door. Nabi watched as he pulled his chair forward to reach into the back seat. There he pulled out a white cotten scarf. He looked at Nabi and began wrapping it around her neck to help keep her warm. It wrapped around her, even covering her mouth and nose. The scarf smelt like him and she couldn't understand how it could smell so good. After wrapping the thick scarf around her neck, both of his hands cupped her cheeks, rubbing the skin just under her eyes.
"Once I do my comeback, I'm going to be busy. I won't have time to dedicate to you like a normal guy would. I won't be able to go over to your dorm often or text you often because I'm busy. I will fly all over the place on a late notice and you won't even know. You will hear it on the news about me being in another country before you hear it from me. I'm going to be working hard for months on end with promotions after my comeback. I won't have time to dedicate to you. I won't be at YG in awhile after my comeback because I completed everything that I needed to."
Nabi placed her cold hand over his. "What are you trying to say?" She asked.
"Listing the things I'm going to be doing to you that could hurt you in the end but I'm too selfish to care about the fact that you're going to get hurt or be lonely for a few months while I'm working. I won't be able to see your face for awhile because I'm working but I'm too selfish." Kwon Jiyong says with a frown while closing his eyes.
"Selfish? I don't understand." Nabi says rubbing his hands.
"Knowing that I'm going to be gone for awhile, and not being able to stay by your side, even just for a little while, I still selfishly want you." Kwon Jiyong says truthfully. "I need to know if you're going to be with me, knowing all of this?"
Nabi just stood there with big round eyes of shock. She couldn't believe what she was hearing. She didn't know what to say.
