Chapter 11 - Kwon Jiyong

Nabi stepped out of her dorm, hearing the door to her dorm automatic lock click. She held her handbag closer to her body as she made her way down the hall and to the elevators. She wanted to leave before Kwon Jiyong came in. She didn't know her reason, but she wanted to avoid him. She pressed the button to the elevator, watching as the elevator lit up the numbers of the elevator's passing floors on the small black screen at the top of the elevator. She felt relieved when it finally reached her floor. When the doors dinged open, Nabi was ready to step in but stopped dead in her tracks as Kwon Jiyong stepped out of the elevator.

He tilted his head curiously, as he stared at Nabi. "Were....you....trying to....run away?" He asked slowly as he got out of the elevator.

Nabi instantly shook her head. "No."

"Then..." He said dragging off for her to continue.

"I was going to meet you on your dorm floor." Nabi said lying straight through her teeth.

"What floor?" He tested.

"Uh...." Nabi looked around. "Uh..." she giggled nervously. "The floor you live on." With that she got into the elevator and held a hand out to stop the elevator doors from closing. "Are you coming in?"

"Uh-huh." He said and nodded.

Kwon Jiyong got in and stood next to Nabi who gripped tightly to the handle of her handbag. Her pointer finger tapped nervously under Kwon Jiyong's watchful eyes. He had no doubt that Nabi was trying to ditch him. Which was the reason she left early. Luckily, he ended up sleeping over Choi Seung-Hyun's house since he was too tired to drive back. But he woke up early to come back to the building to pick up Nabi. Thus, accidentally bumping into her.

"My car is parked out front." Kwon Jiyong said.

"How come?" Nabi questioned as she found it weird. "Did you not stay in the dorms overnight?" She asked.

"No. I didn't stay here. I was at someone else's house."

Nabi nodded and followed him out after the elevator doors slid open. Nabi waved politely to the building guard as she followed Kwon Jiyong out the front building doors. There, parked out front of the building, Kwon Jiyong's spaceship. Knowing Nabi didn't know how to open his simple handle-less door, Kwon Jiyong opened the door for her as she had a second of hesitation before getting into his car. Like always, she flinched as he shut the door but he never showed that he had seen that. Kwon Jiyong had a small smile as he walked around the front of the car after shutting her door tightly. He looked over at her and stared at her.

"Belt." He simply said as he pulled his own belt over himself.

Nabi sighed and pulled the belt over her body, locking it in with a click. She looked forward and began to keep quiet in her thoughts. She didn't think Kwon Jiyong was going somewhere when she had bumped into him the night before. For some reason the thought of him sleeping over someone else's house felt unsettling to her. She didn't understand her discomfort with the idea. He was his own man who made his own decisions and Nabi couldn't say anything that would change that fact. So she didn't understand why she was upset with it. So she ignored the feeling and continued on her morning as if she hadn't even hear of that information.

Kwon Jiyong and Nabi arrived to the YG Building. He drove the car and parked it in it's normal spot. He got out and ran over to Nabi who was trying and failing to open the door from the inside. He opened the door for her, letting her out, while smiling at her sad attempt to do so. She thanked him as they walked into the building together, and waved to the security guard.

"I'm going to be working in the studio later. When you're on break, come to the studio. Alright?" Kwon Jiyong said.

Nabi bit her bottom lip. "I'm actually having lunch with a friend of mines. He's going to be picking me up."

Kwon Jiyong had to hide the fact that he was disappointed in the outcome of asking. He wanted to get to know more about what type of person Nabi was. "He?" He asked. "A guy? I thought you said you didn't have a boyfriend?"

Nabi shook her head. "He's just a friend. Anyways, I have to go and prepare for class before they arrive." Nabi smiled sincerely. "Thank you." She bowed.

With that, Kwon Jiyong watched her walk away. He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. He couldn't understand the relationship between that man in the picture and Nabi. He was sure it was him who was going to be eating lunch with Nabi. He sighed, and made his way up the steps. He was tired but he wanted to put the music he was preparing before the deadline. It was getting deeper into October and he had a deadline in December where he had to get it finalized by President Yang. However, he had a ton of work to do since he hadn't even gotten the okay for the name.

He finally arrived to the studio and walked in. Usually Teddy or other music composers under the company would be inside of the studio, however he didn't expect to see Min Hyorin, Ji Soo and Dong Youngbae in the studio. He did expect Bae Jang Mi, since he asked her to help on the album. Whatever help she could do would be appreciated. He didn't want to say he had a music block because it wasn't to that extent. He was just having trouble with the outcome of it and wanted a second opinion.

"What are you guys doing here?" Kwon Jiyong asked as he walked over to his already taken office chair. "Jang Mi-ah." He scolded.

She raised her hand in defeat and got out of his chair. "In my defense, you asked me to come."

"I know. I meant the rest of them." He replied nodding his head to the others who sat on the leather sofa smiling innocently.

"I'm under this company too." Youngbae defended.

"I'm with the man under this company." Min Hyorin said pointing to her boyfriend.

"I'm registered under the same family registry as someone under the company." Ji Soo said pointing to Bae Jang Mi.

Kwon Jiyong raised a brow and sighed. "I'm having trouble with the album. So I would appreciate it if you guys didn't distract Jang Mi in helping me."

"I can help too!" Young Bae said.

"Yes. You can." Bae Jang Mi smiled innocently.

After setting up his laptop and whatnot, Teddy has already went working on beats for the next song. Meanwhile, Bae Jang Mi was bent over, looking at Kwon Jiyong's computer screen. She was reading down the lyrics and nodded as she did so. From her usual blank face expression, Kwon Jiyong couldn't read what her thoughts were on his lyrics.

"Wah~" She said straightening out her back. "Those are well written lyrics."

"Is there anything you would change?" Kwon Jiyong asked.

Bae Jang Mi shook her head. "Not change. But this song, just a suggestion, should be done in a collaboration. You can change this verse," she said pointing to his screen, "into a first person view instead of a second person view. Because you're describing someone else's feelings but you should have that person explain the feelings they're feeling instead of you for a better angle in feelings." She suggested.

"I wanted it to be where someone else described it." Kwon Jiyong said. "I wanted it to be where someone else described someone else's feelings towards them."

Bae Jang Mi nodded. "Well, if you're going to do it like that then, how about third person view. Describing it as if someone's watching a movie. With a movie, everyone can tell the actor and actress' emotions and describe it from there." She then stood up with a shocked face. "Like the second lead!" She shook her head. "Why am I not writing a drama?"

Kwon Jiyong shook his head. "You're getting distracted again!" He said with a mono tone. "The third person view sounds great actually." He smiled. "What about you?" He looked over to Youngbae. "What are your thoughts?"

Youngbae stood up off the couch and stood next to Kwon Jiyong. He bent over to the level of the table and started reading the lyrics off the computer. His opinion was good to receive since he usually knew what style and way Kwon Jiyong liked to do his music.

"I can see it both ways. Second person and third person. If you're willing to do a collaboration with someone, you should find a female. One with a voice that's unique." Youngbae said.

After pondering on it for a few seconds, Kwon Jiyong nodded. "Fine. I'll probably do that after though. I need to look for someone with a unique voice. For now, I'll work on another song."

"Cool. What song?" Bae Jang Mi asked.

"Red. I'm still putting together the lyrics." He replied.

Teddy piped in. "I've already gotten the beat for it. It came to me in a dream."

Everyone looked at Teddy with a suspicious look before finally agreeing that the beat had arrived to him in a dream. Bae Jang Mi had already started helping Kwon Jiyong with Red. And by helping, she constantly asking who it was about. While Kwon Jiyong waved off her questions.

The album was slowly coming together. Kwon Jiyong recorded a small part of one of his songs. He wasn't sure why Teddy needed him to do just one part. When he played the part through the computers, Bae Jang Mi suggested having those parts overlap the chorus part of the song. When Teddy skeptically tried it, the outcome wasn't so bad. It gotten fun to listen to. Teddy just had to adjust a few of the sounds to the beat with it added on like that. He could hear a slight change in the beat with the newly recorded part overlapping the chorus part. After working on a few more stuff, Bae Jang Mi started whining about being hungry. So they all decided to head out to eat lunch. Instead of eating in the YG Cafeteria, they wanted to eat at a restaurant. They were all packing their belongings to leave. Everyone was talking amongst themselves as they all exited out the room laughing and smiling. Kwon Jiyong stood by Bae Jang Mi as they talked and laughed as well. After walking down the multiple flights of stairs, they made it into the lobby where it was buzzing with it's usual chatter during the day. The group readily made their way out the front doors of the YG Entertainment building.

As soon as they stepped out, Kwon Jiyong froze. He spotted Nabi making her way across the street. He watched curiously as she walked up to a man who had his back facing the entertainment company. He was leaning on a nice expensive car. It was more expensive than Kwon Jiyong's spaceship. As soon as the man saw Nabi, he turned around, confirming that it is indeed the man in the photo as well as the man who was in front of Nabi's door the night before. The man reached down and took Nabi's small figure into a tight hug, swinging her around while she giggled. He could hear her giggles from where he stood. He's never seen a brighter smile on Nabi until now. Just seeing that, and knowing that, made Kwon Jiyong feel uneasy.

"What are you looking at oppa?" Bae Jang Mi asked as she followed his line of sight. "Oh, it's Park Nabi!"

"Shh." Kwon Jiyong said.

"Why?" She whispered. "Does she work here?" He nodded. "Wow! That's great! I wanted to eat lunch with her."

Before Kwon Jiyong could input, Bae Jang Mi had walked away. Meanwhile, he looked over at the two. He continued to stare at her smile that stayed plastered on her lips as she spoke. The same bright smile she had in the photo that she posed next to the CJ Entertainment building. The two were still talking while Nabi put little inputs smiling and laughing. After she playfully hit his arm, he laughed and opened the car door for Nabi to climb in. He ran around the car and got in. Kwon Jiyong didn't like this feeling of discomfort that was settling in him. He chose to ignore it and walked along side the other people in the group who were all laughing at some joke Ji Soo Was explaining. He supposedly heard it from Seungri. It wasn't hard to believe since Kwon Jiyong himself found the joke exactly like Seungri. He just laughed and shook his head, continuing on the rest of his lunch break.
