Chapter 6 - Dark Intentions

Lina ran down the steps, not caring that she had bumped into a bunch of people on her way down. She basically flew herself into the club, ignoring the loud music, flashing lazers, and the large bodies of people dancing and grinding up on one another. Lina with her curls and all, ran towards the bar where her manager stood with an unimpressed look. Lina gave him an apologetic expression as she ran up to him. She instantly bowed, feeling her backpack bow down with her.

"I'm sorry I'm late." Lina said loudly over the music while bowing.

"My office." He snapped.

Lina kept her head bowed down like a little child who was caught stealing cookies out of the cookie jar. She followed him, entering into his office where the music instantly went silent from the soundproof walls. She continued standing even after the manager rounded his desk and sat in his office chair. He gave Lina an annoyed expression, like the mere thought of her annoyed his being.

"I told you if you were late-"

"I can explain! I was making my way when this large crowd blocked the whole street -"

"I don't want to hear it!" He snapped cutting her off just as she did to him. "One simple task I ask of you, come on time. Yet you can't seem to take the simplest orders to do so. I can't even fire you, nor can I suspend you. All I want is for you to come on time so I don't have to cover the beginning of your shift."

"What do you want me to do?" Lina asked apologetically. "I am really sorry and I really don't mean to cause a burden." She sighed, looking at him seeing that he was just as lost about the matter as she was. She knew what she needed to do and she was going to have to woman up and do it. "I know why you can't fire me or do anything to me so I'll do it for you." She sighed and made eye contact with him. "I'll quit. After tonight."

His eyes widen in shock and fear. "You have to tell him you quit. If I did, he'll think I-"

"I know. I know. I'll let him know." She smiled. "I promise. I'm sorry for being in the way of everything and making you uncomfortable." Lina bowed.

Lina made an exit, exhaling a sigh of stress. She had to go into the room she knew she would find him. She pushed her way through the crowd, feeling out of place with her attire. She made her way to the stairs, climbing them until finally reaching the top. She passed by moving bodies that danced together on the balcony before reaching the long hallways of the club. The hallways had large doors lining up on each side of the halls. A sleek gold number hanging on each door, giving them each a name. The doors in the halls were painted a dark red, looking almost like blood while the frames of the doors and carpet were black, matching the rest of the interior decoration of the club.

Lina slowly made her way to the door with the golden number 1 hanging on it. She knocked on the door, waiting only a few short seconds before the door flew open. One of Hong Bin's gorillas opened the door for her. He was ready to pull a My-Boss-Is-Busy act until it finally hit him that it was Lina, standing in the doorway.

He cleared his throat before turning his back towards Lina. "Boss, it's Lina." He whispered, as if Lina hadn't heard him. He soon faced Lina and kept a straight face. "Wait." He said.

After a few short seconds of waiting, two girls with pin straight black hair, milky white skin and short dresses that hugged their thin frame, came running out of the room. If Lina didn't know any better, the two who walked out looked like twins, but she knew it probably wasn't it. She knew that they were two different girls, since most girls who came to clubs all had similar style. She rolled her eyes as they glared daggers at her. Probably for interrupting whatever was going on inside the room. Whatever it was, Lina didn't want to know. Lina had a known name around the area, but it was by a name she despised. Hong Bin's property.

"Come in." The gorilla says.

Lina nodded, entering the private rooms the club held. She looked at Hong Bin, sitting across the room in the large plushed chairs that lined the walls perfectly. The table was filled with alcoholic beverages and two ash trays full of dead cigarette buds and ashes, sat in the middle of the room like an island.

Lina made eye contact with Hong Bin and felt a slow shudder of appreciation split through her. His eyes were always sharp and so was his nose. His muscles bulged under his clothes and Lina was mesmerized by the way it flexed in his neck and shoulders. He wore a white dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his wrists, showing his tattoos that came down to his knuckles. His black slacks were wrinkled, showing all his movements he made throughout the day.

"I told you repeatedly about seeing me during business hours." He says lowly, looking in the other direction.

Lina nodded. "I know. I'm actually here to tell you that I'm quiting and today will be my last day working here." She says with a emotionless expression.

Hong Bin's head snapped towards Lina, piercing her with his intense gaze. He looked Lina up and down, checking to see if she was hurt anywhere. She stood still, unmoving while Hong Bin just continued to stare at her like a hawk stalking it's prey. Lina's eyes widen in shock as she noticed his nose flaring with anger. She knew instantly what he was going to do next.

"No. He didn't do anything. It's not because-"

Hong Bin ignored her as he rushed past her and out the door. Lina began chasing after him while shouting his name but it was no use since he was much faster. She began following him down the steps and into the noisy club. He was pushing people out of his way, using his muscular body to his advantage. When he stopped outside the manager's office, he flung the door open, revealing Lina's very shocked supervisor. He instantly rushed into the small office, grabbing him by his collar, pulling him up to his feet and against a wall.

"What did you do now? She's leaving again!" Hong Bin snapped.

"He didn't do anything! Hong Bin! Stop!" Lina rushed and took hold of Hong Bin's arm that was ready to punch the man that was noticeably shaken up. "Let go of him!" She shouted trying her hardest to pull at his arm, only to fail weakly.

"Stop!" He says turning to Lina. He pushed her off and then went back to what it was that he was doing.

Lina lost her balance, falling hard onto the ground. Her hands caught most of her fall but she felt an uncomfortable burn stinging both her hands. She turned them over and stared at her hands in utter shock. Both palms began to bleed heavily from being scraped across the ground. Without her permission, her eyes began to water but she kept silent from the pain she was feeling in both her hands and her heart.

Suddenly, a tray filled with glass cups hits the ground, causing the glass cups to shatter as it made contact with the ground. Everyone's attention shifted from a bleeding Lina who sat on the ground to Su Bin, Lina's bestfriend. Su Bin entered the manager's office in a rush as she saw Lina bleeding on the floor.

"Hey asshole! You hurt her! Now she's bleeding." She snapped. "You're such a dick! You always say that Lina's the last person you'll hurt but now she's bleeding! I could literally pull your balls out and replace your eyeballs with them!"

Hong Bin dropped the manager the moment he heard Lina's soft sniffs. He turned around and stared at Lina, bleeding on the ground. His body was stiff as he stared at her, masking all his emotions. He made his way towards her, pushing his sister out of the way, causing her to spew out a few more curse words towards him. Bending down, he looked at Lina with a stone like expression, causing a pang of hurt to course through Lina's heart. He easily swooped her up, cradling her in his large arms, making Lina's heart flutter despite the fact that he was the one who caused her pain. In more ways than one.

Hong Bin carried her bridal style, ignoring the fact that Lina was embarrassed by it. He carried her out of the office, through the throng of many clubbers, not paying too much attention to what was going on as they were either too drunk or to engrossed into their dancing. He made his way into the kitchen that was currently empty for they only cooked during the day. He sat Lina on one of the counters where her legs were dangling off the edge. He left her side for a few seconds only to return back with a big container. Lina knew what the container held, mostly bandages and rubbing alcohol.

Lina had to contain her excitement because she had seen this in many of her dramas. Where the girl accidentally gets hurt or bruised and the bad boy goes out of his way to assist to her wounds. Like going to the store to by medicine and then simply applying it onto the girl's wounds, like she was the most precious thing in the world. She was going to be on the receiving end of the drama, just like the main girl in dramas.

"It's going to hurt." Hong Bin said in his usual low and husky tone.

Lina watched as he opened the large bottle of rubbing alcohol and poured it over one hand. He kept Lina's hand still as she began hissing in pain from the burning sensation the alcohol caused when it came in contact with her open wounds. And then he did it to the other hand, making her feel the same pain, burning through her arm. Soon, Hong Bin took hold of a roll of bandage along with a small tray filled with gauze. He placed it beside her leg as he began placing few strips of gauze on the inside of her palms

"Why did you get involved?" He asked softly as he wrapped her hands with the bandage

"You wouldn't listen. Like every time I'm involved in something." Lina says watching his face for any sort of expression.

"I can't think when it involves you." He says lowly.

Lina stayed silently for a moment before speaking back up. "I'm sorry-"

"Don't." He said, cutting her short of whatever argument she was going to start. He finally looked up to her, meeting her eyes. "Don't ever apologize to me. I don't deserve your apologies."

"Why do you always think of yourself so low? I can never understand you." Lina began.

"I just can't give you what you want or need. Lina," He paused, stepping between Lina's legs and placing his hands on either side of her legs. He leaned forward, bringing his face just centimeters from Lina's face. "I'm not good for you."

Lina's bandaged hand went up to his cheek and she looked him dead in the eyes as he stared intensely back at her. "You don't get to say things like that."

Hong Bin's eyes softened as she stared at him longingly. He never felt the warmth that Lina radiated in any other human being. Yet he didn't feel worthy enough to feel it and every time Lina looked at him, he could see it. How much she cared for him and that made him angry.

"Where is he?" Su Bin shouted throughout the kitchen, causing Hong Bin to instantly move away from Lina like being near her burned him. "You stupid ass!" She snapped looking at her brother.

"Su Bin I'm fine. The swearing is literally unnecessary." Lina says.

"It's very much necessary." She says keeping a glare on her brother. "I fell and gotten hurt too. Look at this f*ckn cut on my knee! I could burn your bones and sell the ashes to a voodoo specialist to bring you back and do that shit all over again." She glared at her brother. "What? Are you going to just push all the girls who care about you out of your life?" She snapped. "Don't be a douche if you're not going to own up to it." Su Bin took hold of Lina's wrist, helping her off the table. "I swear if you weren't my brother, I would've ended your life already."

"That's very drastic Su Bin!" Lina says while she was being dragged out to who knows where.
