Daesung awoke a little late in the morning. His sight was blessed with the surroundings of a hospital room. He never once thought that when he passed out that he would want to wake up in the hospital room, alive. He didn't even believe he was on the brink of death. He was sure he was fine. However, a sudden thought occurred to him when he thought about passing out. The last moment in his memory before loosing conscious was his hold on Lina's ankle. While he was stuck safely inside a hospital room, Lina could be out and about dying.

Daesung made the action to sit up but the sudden pain from both his surgical cut along with his broken ribs restrained him from doing so. At that time, Lina had just entered and watched as her boyfriend tried to get off from the bed. A small genuine smile appeared on her face as the sight of her boyfriend awake and active brought a sense of peace over her.

Lina quickly cleared her throat as she placed the small pitcher of water on the patient lunch table at the foot of his bed. "I don't think you're supposed to be moving around that much."

Upon hearing her voice, Daesung searched the area his visions could reach until he bent his neck, creating a double chin, seeing her standing there with a smile. His smile instantly fell when he saw her appearance. "What happened to your face? Are you alright? Can I get seated up?"

"Let's not talk about it. It's not important." Lina says, walking over to the side of his bed and pressing the button that allowed him to sit up. While his position slowly turned into a slight seating position, the door to the room slid open and entered Su-Bin sponsoring just an equal amount of bruises and cuts as Lina did, maybe even more. "You're here?"

Su-Bin nodded and smiled. "Looks like he's up."

"Did you save Lina?" Daesung asks.

Su-Bin gave out a small laugh and nodded. "Yes I did."

"Thank you." He sighed finally being brought into a seating position.

Su-Bin shrugged her shoulders and shoved her hands in the pockets of her leather jacket. "Lina is my soulmate. If a Russian assassin came for her, I'm on that next flight to Russia to kill someone."

Lina smiled and looked at her best friend. "I love you too." She sighed out before looking down at Daesung. "The doctor told me to get her once you woke up so I'll go and do that."

With that Lina left the room leaving Daesung and Su-Bin alone. Daesung looked at Su-Bin, "Can I ask you a question?"

"Sure." Su-Bin walked over to sit in the chair next to Daesung's bed. "What is it?"

"Is there something going on with Lina? She seems different."

The question caused Su-Bin to stare at Daesung oddly. Her eyes squinted and her head tilted as she wondered to herself about Daesung. She wasn't usually this fascinated with people, especially her best friend's boyfriend. But she had to give it to him. She was impressed.

"You could tell?" She asked in total shock.

"Yeah. The way she talks is a little different. Honestly, it's off putting." He says.

Su-Bin looked to the door before turning back to Daesung. "How would you feel if your ex-lover came after her and severely damaged her to the brink of death?" She asked. "As of right now, she is blaming herself for what happened to you."

"Why would she blame herself?" He asked.

"To Lina, she feels like she could have stopped this from happening. Last time this happened was when her dad was hurt badly. She ran away and it took two weeks to find her working at some fishing place in Busan." Su-Bin explained. "A piece of advice though, if she says something that includes her in leaving, stop her. She wouldn't have returned if we hadn't found her back then and she'll do the same. You have to do everything you can to stop her from leaving in any way. Some bull shit way of redeeming herself. Honestly, if I didn't love her, I'd punch her in the face."

"Why would sh-"

Their conversation was cut short as the door slid open and entered Dr. Lee, Lina, Seungri, Seung-Hyun and Jang Mi. He was surprised by Jang Mi's appearance as well. He didn't think she would assist Su-Bin in saving Lina.

"Jang Mi your face." Daesung says with a worried expression.

Jang Mi pointed to the band-aid on her cheek and she gave a sheepish smile. "Oh I got this cute this morning trying to race the door before it could close."

"Guess who lost." Seung-Hyun says shaking his head.

"Oh so you didn't go with them?" He asked nodding his head seeing how that made more sense.

Jang Mi smiled. "Of course I helped save Lina. I love her." She says while Lina just smiled.

"Well," Dr. Lee cut in, "I'm glad you're fine and healthy now Jang Mi. Are you planning to re-visit my ER shot as you did the last time?" She asks.

Jang Mi smiled sheepishly and shook her head. "Nope. I promise to stay out of trouble."

"Okay." Dr. Lee says not believing her. "Well, Daesung-ssi, I'm glad you're awake now. How are you feeling?"

"I'm feeling good." Daesung says smiling.

"That means your painkillers are working to perfection. Well, you were injured pretty badly."

"I'm sure I'm fine. Something like a beating can't put me down." He smiled.

Lina scoffed. "You have fractures in your face, your nose is broken, three broken ribs, you were bleeding internally and you almost lost your leg which will need intense physical therapy. You were down." She says in scolding manner.

Dr. Lee smiled and nodded. "Everything she said is true. Your situation could have been a loss if you were any second later to being brought in. Since you're seemingly fine while on pain medication, you'll probably need to stay here for another three weeks until your fractures in your face are gone."

"Three weeks?" He asked. "Okay. I need to take care of my-"

"It's taken care of. President Yang took care of everything." Seung-Hyun says.

"Well that's settled then. I'll be checking up on you from time to time. If you're uncomfortable or in pain, just ring up the nurses to get you another dose of pain reliever." She smiles before bowing and making an exit.

"So what happened to him. To Hong Bin?" Daesung asked.

The room fell silent. Everyone stood around looking at one another in question in hope to find an answer with in one another. Everyone's looks sort of fell between Lina and Su-Bin. Silently between everyone but Daesung, it was already said that Lina and Su-Bin should be the ones to explain everything to him. Anyone else telling him didn't really feel right.

"Unfortunately, my brother was able to escape." Su-Bin says speaking up.

"Hong Bin was-"

Lina spoke up but was cut off by Su-Bin. "My brother was able to escape through my father. Because of his connection, he's probably already in Japan." She explained.

"Your family is the reason why Lina got hurt and got away with it?" Daesung asked.

"Why'd you say it like that?" Lina asked with a gloomy look.

"I'm sure he didn't mean it like that Lina." Su-Bin says with a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

Daesung sighed and apologized to Su-Bin. "I didn't mean it like that. I'm sorry." He looked to everyone else in the room. "Thank you all for coming today but can I have some time alone with Lina?" He asked not looking for an answer as he held onto the pit of Lina's elbow. "Please sit."

Everyone left, one by one saying their goodbyes to Daesung. Lina sat on his hospital bed beside him as everyone was leaving. Su-Bin looked at them before exiting completely and sliding the door shut. Lina ran a tired hand over her face and kept it covering her eyes. She was exhausted and was ready to either lash out or cry. At this point, she might end up doing both.

"Tell me what's going on." Daesung says softly. His hand rubbed small smoothing circles on her back. "I won't know how to fix this if you don't tell me."

"Fix? Why would you be the one to fix it. You're not at fault." Lina says still not making any eye contact with Daesung.

"Lina, tell me what you're feeling." Daesung held her hand in hopes she'll look at him. "Please look at me. Please." He pleaded.

Lina straightened out her posture and looked at Daesung with tears brimming her eyes. "I have decided that I'm gong to take the modeling job in America."

Just a heads up, the story will be ending in a few chapters. I hope you guys aren't too disappointed with the ending of it.
