Chapter 25 - Toxic Love

Lina exited from behind the door and out into the cold dark ally of the building. She instantly spotted Hong Bin who stood out in the cold as if it were this temperature everyday. He wore a simple winter coat that was open, revealing thin jacket and a beanie. His nose was slightly red but he didn't look anything close to cold.

"Oppa?" Lina questioned. "What are you doing here?" She asked.

"I came to see you. I didn't know this was what you were doing. Why didn't you tell me?" He asked.

"You still wouldn't be okay with it. Right?" Lina asked raising a brow.

"Of course I'm okay with it. You looked beautiful out there. Like you belonged there. Why would you think that?"

"I do belong there. Up on stage, dressed up in expensive brands. I just don't think you understand this. Men, all type of men, will have their eyes on me. I will be surrounded by models, male models. I'll have to do photoshoots with them. Are you okay with that?" Lina asked, already knowing the answer.

"Will you be doing something you're not supposed to be doing, with these male models? Is that how you are now?" Hong Bin's brows furrowed, already getting upset.

"How did you know I love lavender over any flowers?" Lina asked, ignoring his earlier statement in hopes for a subject change.

Hong Bin ran a tired hand down his face. "I asked Su Bin." He said.

Lina let out a small scoff. "Thanks for the flower anyways." She says. "Over ten years of knowing one another and he had to ask Su Bin what my favourite flower was." She mumbled, knowing he wouldn't be able to understand her.

They both fell into silence. Lina had spoken and waited for a 'You're Welcome' but it never came. Hong Bin was too deep in his own thoughts to realize the situation. Whatever he did, wouldn't stop the fact that she still loves him and that he still hadn't apologized for what he did last time. She felt like running into a brick wall repeatedly for falling in love with someone who couldn't even share the same feelings for her. All she could feel from Hong Bin was as if she were his property. He owned her and after being independent for a awhile, she didn't like the feeling of him treating her like property.

"I missed you." Hong Bin says just below a whisper.

It was the first time he had ever stated something like this. Even when she went away to work for Nabi and then returned, he didn't spill his secrets of longing for her during the times that she was gone. Instead, she got a grunt and a glare for a whole week during her return. She was gone longer when she worked for Nabi but just three months away for training as a model, he finally admitted that he did miss her. She didn't know if she should be angry or not. It was stupid. The whole situation was stupid.

"Are you saying that because you don't want to apologize for your actions from last time?" Lina asked only to recieve silence. "I think I better-"

Lina was cut off by the back door to the building opening up. Daesung popped his head out of the small crack, too cold to step out completely. His head gazed up and down the street, looking for Lina. However, the moment he spotted her, he opened the door fully and smiled at her.

"I was looking everywhere for you." Daesung says approaching her.

Suddenly, Daesung noticed the man who stood in front of Lina. Very intimidating and he wasn't quite sure if Lina being alone with this man was alright or not. He didn't want to suddenly doubt him or judge him just based on his appearance but it was the scowl that told him anything else as well as the tattoos going up his neck and cross his little skin that his shirt exposed.

"Who the hell is this Lina?" He snapped. "Every time I see you, you're with another man."

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" Lina snapped.

"Lina, are you alright?" Daesung asked concerned.

"Stay out of this pretty boy." Hong Bin snapped. "What? In the limelight for a few minutes and you're already sleeping around with random idols."

"Excuse me, I don't like the way you're talking to her. You're being disrespectful." Daesung says, gathering as much courage as he could. "Lina, I think we should go."

"Do you want to see how disrespectful I can get?" Hong Bin asked getting up in Daesung's face.

Lina pushed Hong Bin away from Daesung. "He's my boyfriend. You can't talk to him like that." She snapped, throwing the bouquet of lavender onto the ground.

Hong Bin's face only showed how angry he was becoming, even more so than he was a few seconds ago. Lina was not allowed to date in Hong Bin's world. She was not allowed to date anyone and if anyone dared to see Lina as a potential girlfriend, they'd have to answer to him. There was no other way around this since it's been this way since Lina entered high school.

"Boyfriend? With who's permission?" Hong Bin barked, his nose flaring in anger and his stance becoming more on the offense.

The door opened again, revealing Su Bin. She had an annoyed expression on her face as she looked at the situation. She had just entered but telling how the three were covered with tension thicker than an iceberg and a bouquet of lavender on the ground, she didn't need to guess it had something to do with her brother. She knew it was him when Su Bin went to ask Lina's managers on her bestfriend's whereabouts, only to find out she wasn't anywhere to be seen.

"I specifically told you not to come." Su Bin snapped. "Are you stupid?"

"Shut your mouth Su Bin. You're not a part of this." Hong Bin glared daggers at his sister.

"I can be a part of whatever I want. Who's going to stop me? You? I rather be titty slapped by one of your fat underlining than to be talked as if I was inferior to you. I am not below you, you dick wad." Su Bin argued before turning to Lina. "Go inside. I'll take care of him."

"It's fine Su Bin, you shouldn't stress yourself out."

"Stress myself out? Have you seen my family? Nothing can stress me out to the point like them." She chuckled. "It's fine."

"Su Bin, shut your mouth and get out of here. Mind your own businsss." Hong Bin spoke up.

"I don't want to. You're acting like a f**k-tard and because of that, I have to come out here and handle you like some teenager who first got her period. You're acting temperamental like the little bitch you are. This is why I keep Jae Bum away from you." Su Bin says monotonously while folding her arms across her chest. "Please leave Lina. I'll take care of my brother."

Lina took ahold of Daesung's hand and dragged him along with her. As she was making her way to the door, she could hear Hong Bin grunting out in anger as he punched a car that was parked in the ally. She could hear the glasses shattering but she chose to ignore that. Su Bin shouting profanities was soon muffled by the door closing.

Daesung stopped her pulling when they were a safe distance and made her face him. Lina was teary eyed but she wasn't crying. Daesung cupped her cheek and began checking on her. He wasn't sure how long she's been out there alone with that man but he wanted to make sure she wasn't hurt. He turned her head this way and that way while looking up and down, all around.

"Are you okay?" He asked with so much concern on his face, it caused Lina's heart to flutter. "He didn't hurt you did he?"

Lina shook her head but being asked if she was alright, caused a round of tears and ugly sobs to escape Lina's lips. Daesung nodded and pulled her into a hug. He rubbed small circles on her back and petting her hair as she sobbed into his chest while he continued to comfort her. Without his knowledge, he was whispering words of enlightenment to her, telling her everything was going to be alright.

For once in Lina's life, she actually believed these words that were easily thrown into any conversation that dealt with hardship. For once, Daesung made her feel like, things were going to be okay.
