I squinted in the late afternoon sunshine. It's been three day since I woke up here and they let us into the yard twice a day to stretch are legs, or wings. The yard had a large glass dome roof and the grass didn't seem to be native to earth. Let's just say that the first hint to that was the fact it's purple. Most of the trees were a weird reddish green color. Every plant seemed to be a weird color. I walked between two trees stopping to sniff at a strange flower.

There was a warbling sound and Tim walked out of the undergrowth clawing at a vine rapped around his leg. I laughed and walked over to him helping him get the vine off. I had been here for about a week now, the raptor I had met the first day was named Tim. "Mia what are you doing" he questions as I start heading deeper into the small patch of forest in the yard. "Looking" I reply not stoping "for what" he demands running to catch up with me. "You wanna get out of here right?" I ask turnings around to look at him. "It's useless" came a voice I knew all to well.

Tera was sitting on a tree limb far out of my reach. She was a snotty brat who constantly talked about herself. "You know if it were up to me....." I ignored whatever else she said and started to walk away "hey, hey get back here" Tera demands sitting up one her branch and taking to the air landing in front of me. She looked like she was a cat without the front legs instead she had leathery bat like wings she had spikes running down her spine. I rolled her my eyes and went around her. Tim hurried to follow me, Tera huffed angrily and took off looking for someone else who would sit still long enough for her to start bragging about herself.

Once she was out of sight I turned to Tim "let's go back to the meadow, there's nothing out here" I say and start heading towards the center of the yard. Most of the others spend time here when we come to the yard. I pushed through the line of shrubs at the side of the meadow and stepped out onto the grass. The aliens would be out soon to take us back to the cages. There was a rustle and Tim leapt out of the shrubs attempting to tackle me. I rolled to the side leaping to my paws and launching myself at Tim. He yelped in surprise when I landed pinning him to the ground "I win" I bark triumphantly hoping off his back.

"You always win" he grumbles as he stands up. There was a clinking noise as the door opened and a group of aliens came in each one holding a weird leash like thing. "Let's start at table 15" he said. Each table was numbered in American numerals. Me and Tim where on table 13 So we would have to wait for them to reach are table. The scientists went to each animal in the area and checked the collar. Once they found an animal with the correct number on it that animal was taken inside. Tera flew into the clearing and landed not far from me and Tim.

It took only a few minutes before an alien by the door called out for them to find table 13. And alien with bunk hair and blue tinted skin stopped in front of me, I hissed when he reached for my collar, he just ignored me and checked my tag before rapping the leash around my neck. He led me inside to my cage where he then took me to my table putting my food and water inside my cage before leaving. Tim was put down a moment later. I went over to my food bowl and took a price of beef before walking back to the corner and laying down.

Tim curled up in the corner of his cage and hid his nose under his tail. Tera was brought in and set down on the table next to ours. It took barely an hour before everyone was back inside "they really need a more efficient way of doing that" Tim mumbles looking around. I nodded and laid may head down closing my eyes. It was barely a minute later when I heard growling I opened my eyes and saw two aliens in front of Tim's cage the second one was moving for my cage. I growled but once again they ignored me and picked up my cage. I turned my head to see that Tim was in the same predicament as I was. The carried us down the hall and into another room where they set the cages down on separate tables.

The alien who had carried me in opened my cage after putting a pair of gloves on. He reached inside, I swatted at him with a hiss. He grabbed my scruff and dragged me out of the cage. He carefully held me down and opened my mouth running his glove over my teeth. Is this a doctors appointment, it makes sense to me. He flipped me over and pulled out what looks like a stethoscope. He held it agains my chest before pulling it away and letting me stand up. I hissed at him as he scribbled something down on a note board. He ushered me back inside my cage before closing the door. "This one is healthy" he called to the other alien who seemed to have just finished with Tim "same here". "Are they good for adoption" the alien who had checked my over asked. I froze they were putting us up for adoption, that can't be right. "Yes they are ready" called the one who had looked over Tim. Mine nodded and picked up my cage taking me down the hall and onto what looked like a garage of sorts. He carried me into a shuttle and placed me down before going to talk to who I guessed was the pilot. Tim was set down beside me her was pushed into the back of his cage how eyes wide with fear. I curled up and hid my face, I couldn't believe it, I was going to be made come aliens pet.
