"Bruce, I can't sleep," a little voice said at his door making lift his head from his pillow.

"Charlotte?"

"Can I sleep in here with you," her big blue eyes crumbled his non existent resolve to make her learn to sleep in her own bed.

"Sure," opening the covers he watched as she ran in with he teddy bear he had given her. She had named it batman, even going as far as getting it a little outfit when they had gone to the store to get her some toys. Charlotte had been staying here for two months now and had settled in perfectly. The first few weeks she had night terrors of her parents deaths but lately they had stopped hopefully this wasn't a sign that they were coming back.

Curling into a little ball and placing her small head on his chest she snuggled in.

"Bruce," she whispered but failed terrible. She was still learning how to do that well.

"Yes,"

"Will you be my new Daddy," she said it with hope but there was a slight tone of fear in her voice that he could only assume was her fear of rejection.

The question surprised him and warmed his heart at the same time.

"I'd love that," he said kissing her forehead watching his little girl fall asleep, little breaths left her small pink lips. Closing his eyes too he began to go to sleep with a smile not leaving his face.

The next morning the weight on his chest increase making him wake up immediately. Sitting on him was Charlotte with a big smile on her face.

"Good morning daddy!" She said making him match her grin.

"Good morning princess," he new she loved to be called that and for a full day once demanded that her name be changed to princess.

"I don't want to be called princess anymore," she said suddenly making him tilt his head.

"Why not?"

"Well I'm a big girl now and I will turn 5 next year! I have to get a big girl name daddy!"

"Well why can't I call you Charlotte? That seems like a big girl name,"

"Ya but that's boring!" She groaned falling over onto the bed dramatically.

"How about..." Scratching his chin he looked at her before snapping his fingers. "Charlie,"

"But that's a boys name,"

"I think it's a beautiful name for my beautiful little girl," she blushed from his compliment pushing a pillow on her face.

"Can Alfred be my grandpa," Charlotte or Charlie I guess now said suddenly. "Sense your my daddy now he can be my grandpa!" Jumping off the bed she ran down the stares to the kitchen with Bruce lazily following behind her both still in their pjs.

"-and he said I could be called Charlie!" He caught the end of their conversation as he made his way into the kitchen grabbing his morning coffee and the paper.

"Well id love to be your grandfather," the old Englishman said patting her head as he placed a bowl of cereal in front of her.

The phone began to ring in the middle of breakfast making Bruce excuse himself.

"Hello?" He said into the phone.

"Bruce, It's me Clark. Is that Galla still on for tonight," Bruce scanned his mind quickly trying to remember what he was supposedly attending tonight. He clicked that it was for some rich groups new experiment. He had already confirmed he was coming months ago.

"Yes it is,"

"Ok thank-" hanging up the phone not caring what else Clark had to say he walked back into the kitchen.

"Alfred, Charlie and I are going to be out for the day. Please do what ever it is that you do when I'm not here," he said with a half smile. His joking side had come back when Charlotte had come into his life.

"Will do Master Bruce,"

"Where are we going," Charlie said dressed in a cute little dress with her hair up with a bow. Sitting in the back seat in her car seat she kicked her legs excitedly.

"We need to get you a dress for something special tonight,"

"But I'm already wearing a dress," she said confused cocking her head to the side.

"Yes but for this you need an extra special dress,"

"Like a princess dress,"

"I thought you didn't want to be a princess?"

"I changed my mind," she said sassily crossing her arms and flipping her curly pony tail. Chuckling he turned the radio on listening to her try to sing the words to songs that she didn't know.

A few minutes later they had pulled into the malls parking lot quick log finding a spot.

"Now Charlie I need you to listen to me. There are going to be lots of people in there and I don't want you to get lost so make sure to hold my hand and not run off," grabbing his hand as she hopped in place she nodded over exaggeratedly.

"On daddy," walking inside they got many stares but that was expected. A billionaire playboy walks in to a mall with a four year old, now doesn't that sound like a start to a bad joke.

A few people went farther from staring and took pictures of them as they made their way to a children's dress store.

"How may I help you," a women at the front said flirtatiously.

"I'm here to be a princess!" Charlie shouted over excitedly.

"She means she wants a dress," Bruce translated with a chuckle.

"Well then let's not keep you waiting," the sales associate was flirty but still kind and ended up turning almost all her attention to Charlie who was on the hunt for the perfect dress. He already knew he'd be in trouble when she got older because even at a young age of four she had an obsession with shopping.

"I want this one!" She finally shouted after trying on what felt like a hundred dresses. The dress was adorable dark blue. The sparkles covered it as it flowed down, it also covered the top and the puffy sleeves. (Terrible description I know but picture of dress at the top!)

Ringing us up I thanked the sales clerk giving her a smile making her look slightly dazzled.

Heading home after two hours of shopping and lunch Charlie looked ready to drop. Carrying her inside as she snoozed on my shoulder I laid her in her bed before softly padding out leaving the door cracked. Walking back down the stares I found Alfred back in the kitchen.

"Did you have a nice time, Master Bruce,"

"Yes, though I know I'm going to have a hole in my wallet from that little girl. She loves to shop," the billionaire joked.

"The Galla starts at 6, Charlotte shouldn't be up past 9:30 so please bring her home by then,"

"I got it Alfred, well be just fine,"

Little did he know that they would certainly be less then fine.

------------------------------------------

Thanks everyone for the suggestions and ideas! I will probably be using them all they were so great!

To everyone who wants to see her and Dicks relationship it probably won't happen for a little just because for four years of her life it was just her and Bruce and id like to really dive into that and not skip around or cut corners. Sorry if that makes some of you sad I don't want it to but it's just the way it is:)

New goal!
