Chapter 3

Chapter 3

●●●

Kim Taehyung was a great friend. It didn't take long for Jimin to learn that anew. Of course he wasn't as flawless as Jimin had thought he was when he first got to know him. He had a bunch of flaws. One of them being that he was always late, which annoyed the fuck out of the rather punctual Jimin, but Jimin was pretty forgiving too.

Another flaw was that Taehyung was lazy when it came to having to do work. In the past Jimin had always felt like Taehyung actually had his shit together and did everything for school he had to do. Now he wasn't all that sure anymore. The amount of times Jimin had to drag Taehyung to the library to get things done was comparable to the amount of times the name Jungkookie left Taehyung's mouth in a ten minute conversation.

Jimin had gotten over Taehyung quite quickly. Too quickly for what he had felt in the beginning to have been even remotely serious. Might have been because Taehyung had been so blunt about what he wanted or didn't want, but Jimin felt like it probably was more because he saw the way Taehyung's eyes got softer whenever he mentioned Jungkook.

And it wasn't even Jungkook in a sense of who he was at this moment. They just spent so much of their time together that everything Taehyung mentioned was somehow connected to Jungkook. Because Jungkook's and Taehyung's lives were connected so closely that it was hard to separate them. It was always 'when I and Jungkookie went...' or 'Jungkookie told me about this...'.

Jimin still felt a bit skeptical about the fact that Jungkook was cute according to Taehyung, but Jimin had learnt his lesson to not judge a book by its cover. Taehyung was still nice, but in such a different way from what Jimin had thought in the beginning.

He always noticed if Jimin was feeling a bit off. Knew exactly what to do and say to get him in a better mood. Taehyung was attentive and Jimin really felt like Taehyung saw him when he looked at him. He knew that he could trust Taehyung.

But Taehyung certainly wasn't the perfect husband Jimin had expected him to be in the beginning. Taehyung slept around a lot, smoked weed every once in a while, drank a lot and was overall just a bit unreliable at times. The more time he spent with him, the more he realized how wrong he had been.

The funniest part though was that he kind of liked this Taehyung more. He was not as unimpeachable as he had been before. Jimin no longer felt like Taehyung was some sort of god. Not after he had called Jimin once to ask him whether he could pick him up from a house party and when Jimin did had thrown up all over Jimin's shoes. Yeah, certainly not a god.

But Jimin loved that boy. In a platonic way. Maybe still a bit more than that, but he had come to terms with Taehyung just not being available. Taehyung was adorable at times. A pain in the ass some others and Jimin had so much fun whenever he was around him. He was okay with everything as it was.

So when, a good three months later, Jimin decided he couldn't stand being at home anymore, packed his shit and left, Taehyung was the first person he thought of calling. Jimin didn't like asking people for favors, but he needed a place to crash and Hobi was living in such a cramped space that it was impossible for anyone to stay over.

Taehyung didn't hesitate to say yes, even though he later asked Jimin to wait a bit longer until he had at least warned Jungkook. Right... Jimin had almost forgotten about Jungkook being there as well. He hardly ever went to Taehyung's place, because they met outside most of the time or at college. Jimin had been at Taehyung's only once and that was just because he had dropped him off the night Taehyung had drunk a bit too much.
