Chapter 19

Chapter 19

●●●

When Jimin finally saw Taehyung again, the boy was sitting on the sofa, reading. It was the first time Jimin had seen him outside of his room in a while and the only reason was probably because both Jimin and Jungkook weren't supposed to be home at this time of the day.

Still, Jimin wasn't that sure of whether he should address the elephant in the room or if it was better if he didn't. Taehyung wasn't just avoiding him. He was also avoiding Jungkook and Jimin felt the urge to do something about this. He missed all the small interactions they used to have with each other.

"Tae?" he softly asked, getting his attention.

Taehyung startled looking at Jimin before quickly forcing a smile. "Yeah?" Jimin felt like his suspicion that he only wasn't in his room because they weren't supposed to be here had been confirmed.

"Is everything alright? You seem a bit... off..." Jimin hoped Taehyung knew what he was talking about and wasn't going to deny it because Jimin was sure that would make things really awkward.

Taehyung's expression switched into a slightly pained one. "Sorry. Is it that obvious?" he closed the book putting it aside before moving aside a bit to make space for Jimin.

"Yeah. I think even Jungkook might be catching on by now." Jimin shrugged, taking the place next to Taehyung, crossing his legs to be more comfortable.

Taehyung chuckled, pushing his hair out of his face and Jimin could spot dark bags under his eyes. There was something about the way Taehyung's shoulders were slumped and the way he carried his head that made him seem so tired.

"Sorry if I've been worrying you. I'm just not feeling at my best at the moment." Taehyung explained.

While Jimin did have the strong urge to ask about what was going on and why Taehyung had been like this for more than a week he also wanted Jungkook to be here. For some reason it really bothered him that apparently Jungkook and Taehyung didn't talk about problems and just dealt with their difficulties on their own.

Even with the interest Jimin might have developed towards Jungkook he felt like Jungkook's and Taehyung's relationship came before that. Maybe it was stupid but to him that was even more important than anything actually happening between him and Jungkook.

He'd gladly exchange the few kisses he and Jungkook had shared over the last couple of days for Jungkook and Taehyung to actually communicate.

"I'd ask you about it, but I don't want you to tell me... I want you to talk to Jungkook."

Taehyung opened his mouth with the obvious intention to protest, but Jimin beat him to it. "No, don't say anything. It's obvious you need someone to talk to and Jungkook clearly cares for you and I'm sure if you were to open up once he'd gladly listen. Please. I'm suffering just watching you two rejecting any communication with each other that goes a bit deeper than normal friendship."

"I'm not... I don't like talking about things like that." Taehyung stated, his voice taking a tone Jimin could only identify as defensive.

"But why?" Jimin asked even though he knew the answer. That damn sense of self both Jungkook and Taehyung had where they felt like showing any type of vulnerability made them weak.

"I just don't like it. Also I don't wanna just go up to Jungkook and dump it on him. He has his own worries too." Jimin almost felt bad hearing that considering he had unloaded quite a lot on Jungkook just a couple days ago.

"What if he comes up to you and asks you? Would you tell him then?" Jimin interrogated further, already going through the wording for the message he would send Jungkook once he had finished talking to Taehyung.

"I guess."

That Jimin could work with.
