Station

After barricading the entrance to the ranger station, the group was relieved to know they had outwitted the flock of dozens and dozens of pterosaurs. They were eternally grateful to be accompanied by each other, no one was ever going to be alone from this point on. The ranger post was secluded from the rest of the facility for a reason, it had to be closer to the creatures and it was safely secured by the invisible fences, but as they were completely shut down, they are of no use anymore. The silence of the surroundings was rather soothing, indicating that the flying reptiles were far off at this point.

Samuel once again checked if the main entrance was secure, forcing more furnishings against it. He pulled his hair back taking a deep breath, "We should be okay for a while." He walked toward a metal cabinet, and picked up a tranquilizer, "Gear up, and let's go."

"Hold on a second." Yvelisse gets closer to him, saying, "Sam, look at them, these people are injured, they're tired, give us thirty minutes."

Samuel made an exception for them, being well aware of everything they had been through during this traumatic and eventful evening, "Fine."

The group moved to the second floor, where all the supplies needed would be found. Missy parked herself next to a desk where Alice sat, Natalie brought a medical kit to them. She pulled out antiseptic spray and gaze to cover up their cuts and scratches, "So, what are you girls doing here on another dinosaur adventure?" She asked as she pulled a patch of adhesive plaster with her teeth.

"Our shitty dad." Alice responded as she cleansed her own wound with cotton, "He tried to win us back."

Natalie prepared a bandaid for Missy questioning her choice of words, "Win?"

"Quite literally." Missy stated, "He took us away from our home, just when I thought things were going to be okay."

Everett approached them handing out healthy cereal bars to each one of them, "They are now that he knows you want nothing to do with him."

"Hopefully." Alice expressed as she took a bite from the nutritional bar.

Natalie looked into her eyes, "No, he will never come for you guys again, do you hear me?"

Alice nodded with her eyes widened, her cheeks full of food as she didn't swallow any of it yet.

Samuel walked toward them with his newly found weapon clicking it, "Are we done yet?"

"No." All of the people included responded with the same annoyed tone, as they were not physically prepared for whatever the future held for them. Samuel just accepted the idea and returned to the window, sighing.

Yve sat right beside him, sipping from a water bottle, "Are we still coming for Jewel?"

"No." Samuel replied as he observed the long necks from the diplodocus perking from the treetops, "She'll be safe out here."

"Are you sure?" Yvelisse asked, seeking reassurance.

Samuel looked at her, asserting that their fellow animal would in fact be fine in these conditions, "Of course, she will be safer than she was in Costa Rica."

"Glad to hear." Yvelisse rejoiced side hugging her old partner, with him giving an actual hug in return. This marked the first time he had shown emotion or maybe even compassion during this entire time. The two responsible adults assisted the sisters in removing the tracking chips from their ankles as they had experienced something similar before, and they didn't have proper medications at the time, yet now they do.

Only to ruin the moment of affection, he spotted something springing out of the jungle and heading into the building. He cursed out to himself, "Shit."

"What's wrong?" Everett asked as he held onto a bottle of water, "Why shit?"

Samuel quickly parted from Yve gushing out, "They're in."

He was in fact right, a single Deinonychus hurried into the second floor, jumping onto a desk. The raptor screeched at most of them, with the other two members of its pack coming in right after it made its presence clear. The entire group parted ways as an individual charged at the humans, Everett and Natalie carried the girls to the staircase where one of the creatures sprinted directly at them, causing Alice to dodge to the opposite way as the rest collapsed down the stairs.

Alice's path was blocked by that very one individual, she proceeds to hide inside a large locker, whimpering in fear. The alpha of the pack jumped at the lock scratching and trying to open it up, Alice began to scream in fear, scared and not knowing what to do. Yvelisse is corned by the alpha's mate as it is about to bite her, it does, and it hurts like hell. Samuel notices there's not much to do so he decides to take action, he began to shoot down the animals with an actual gun, bringing the attention to him, "GO NOW."

Yvelisse was partially injured she stands up and runs to the locker Alice was trapped inside, "Come, come." She helps Alice out and observes Samuel being circled by the three raptors. Samuel smacks the gun onto the lower individual, causing a concision on the animal, "I SAID GO."

"WE'RE NOT LEAVING YOU." Yvelisse shouted back at him, holding Alice's shoulders.

Samuel is suddenly pricked by the mate right on the neck, making him scream in pain. With Yvelisse, running downstairs crying loudly and Alice sliding down the garbage disposer slide. Samuel has made his sacrifice very clear, knowing that it would be honored by having those humans survive the escape.
