Wild

Somewhere in Northern California, not far from where the dinosaurs were released into the world, two researchers were after species, planning on learning the creature's behavior. It consisted of a woman and man, a pair of partners, not a couple, partners. The woman was a former employee of Jurassic World, she was a veterinarian at the park, while the man was simply a Paleontologist who obviously was fascinated by these creatures. Dr. Natalie Young, want the most appreciated in the park while she was one of the best veterinarians present during the parks run, Dr. Everett Carter was new on the block, not really well known, like his partner, he tried to write a book but wasn't as successful as others in this same area.

The two have been camping for a while now, Everett was jogging around camp while Natalie was busy taking pictures of the landscape surrounding them.

"Do you ever stop?" Natalie teased, focusing her camera on a soda can on a rock.

He then stopped right in front of her camera, "Hilarious, Natalie, hilarious."

Natalie gave him a look, "Same goes to you."

He smirked, continuing his matinal jog. Natalie laughed, shaking her head.

Everett continued jogging around the forest, avoiding gullies of any kind. He stopped by a narrow stream, he kneeled down and washed his face with the water, wiping it with his T-Shirt, then finally returning to the camp.

"You're back?" Natalie implied, "Thought you were eaten by Bigfoot at this point."

Everett shrugged, sitting down on a bench, "What is up with you today, never seen you in a good mood so early."

"I'm just optimistic, okay?" Natalie was eager to see dinosaurs, "I am positive that we'll see one today."

"Hopefully not literally."  Everett warned, drinking some water.

"I've been trying to attract them ever since you began to jog." Natalie noted as she took another picture of the can.

"That was over an hour ago, Natalie." Everett laughed, "What does taking photos with flash will even do."

"Trigger them." Natalie clarified it to her friend.

Everett asked, coming closer towards his friend's position "But doesn't that hurt them?"

"Well, if you paid attention to what I said last night, Everett, you would've understood why I'm doing this." Natalie then explained, "It simply startles them, now the harmful effects will depend on the species, some will just freak out while the aggressive ones will attack."

Everett cautioned, giving her a concerned look, "What if one of the aggressive ones shows up."

"We came out here for a reason." Natalie gave him a single reply, "We knew the risks."

"Can't say otherwise." He shrugged, standing behind her.

Natalie took another picture, silence.

"This will take forever." He complained, "Why are we even doing this bull-"

Natalie shushed him, as she now paid attention to noises coming from the shrubs, "Listen." She whispered in a very quiet tone.

The creature came at a slow pace, it appeared to be of small size. The creature began to reveal itself, it was a calm and peaceful juvenile Cerapod.

Natalie gasped, hiding her camera. Everett had never seen a creature as beautiful as that one, "I-I-It's a Nasutoceratops." He stammered, his hands were shaking.

"This one isn't on In-Gen's list, right?" Natalie asked, smiling at the creature.

"No." Everett affirmed, tearing up.

Natalie then picked up a branch from the ground, handing it to Everett, "Feed her."

Everett at first denied it, but Natalie offered it again and he accepted it. Everett slowly handed it to the creature.

The juvenile Nasutoceratops opened its beak, chewing on the leaves of the branch, Everett laughed softly giving Natalie a big smile.

"Look at her." Everett exclaimed, "She's beautiful."

Natalie wiped her tears, then petting the juvenile. The creature reacted to the human's actions with soft grunts and happy snorts, Natalie took advantage of the scene and took a picture of Everett bonding with the animal, but forgetting to turn the flash off.

The baby reacted negatively, honking and rearing. Everett's smile faded, he attempted to ease the baby, "Sh, sh, sh."

Natalie gasped, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry." She apologized, helping Everett in soothing the animal.

Evertt easily forgave her, since he knew that she didn't mean that at all. Both the humans managed to help the animal before its parents came looking for her. Everett wiped his forehead, relieved that they weren't in danger.

He gave the creature a last look, "Go now."

The animal snorted, rushing back to where it came from.

"I'm sorry." Natalie felt terrible for what she had done.

"It's fine." Everett gave his friend a hug, "That was beautiful, thank you."

Natalie smiled, embracing him back.

When unexpectedly, a jeep stopped by their camp. Three rangers hopped out of the vehicle aiming guns at the two.

"Woah, woah." Everett stepped up, questioning the men, "What the hell is this."

"We are rangers." The ranger replied, showing respect, "And you are currently camping in an unauthorized area, you are coming with us due to trespassing the limits and harming the wildlife."

Natalie then defended her goals, shoving Everett carefully to the side, "That is not what we were doing."

"We don't care, darling." The ranger expressed, motioning to the partners, "Cuff em' up."

The recruits did as asked and brought the researchers to the jeep.
