Truck

Now free from the authorities, Everett and Natalie return to their camp to receive their belongings. They hop out of the rangers car and wave goodbye.

Everett let out a long sigh, placing his hands on his hips, "Well, that was a lot to sink in."

"I'm aware." Natalie replied, entering the tent. As she walked in she noticed everything was messy, "The hell?" She cursed.

Confused, Everett followed her and looked around, "What."

Suddenly, a Compsognathus hissed at them, it scavenged some of their food. Natalie walked into the made-up kitchen and noticed their entire stock was gone, "Son of a bitch."

"No swearing, remember?" Everett said innocently, picking up some of his stuff.

"Does it even matter, we're not camping anymore Everett." She said under her breath, grabbing her backpack, "This turned out to be disappointing."

"Don't blame it on the animals." Everett stated as he picked up a nearly damaged compass, "It's mostly our fault."

Natalie walked out of the tent, giving it a long last look, "I'm not blaming it on them, and it is our fault entirely."

Everett simply gave her an understanding nod, while observing the compies devouring the frozen food. The two then hiked their way back to the limits of the reservation. On the long walk, Everett couldn't help but notice the amber coming out of the large Red Wood trees, he pulled out a test tube from his backpack.

His partner turned back, watching the situation, "What are you doing?"

"Collecting." Everett addressed while collecting the amber and sealing it inside his bag. After the eventful past hours, they finally reached the road, the two threw their baggage inside the trunk, then finally entered the vehicle. Everett was in the driving seat while Natalie put her seatbelt on, not saying a single word.

"Off we go." Everett joked, starting the truck and getting back home. Natalie attempted to find some signal and put music on. Eventually, she found a radio that only played old rock music, she tapped her hand on the window. The two enjoyed the ride while grooving and jamming to the music. The peace was on gone when a human body fell exactly on its hood. Natalie flinched, Everett gasped in shock, except there was a missing arm.

"WHAT THE F-" Natalie swore looking at her friend. The bloody missing limb of the corpse was dropped onto the front glass, "Go back."

Everett did as she asked, reversing the car. Another man came rushing out of the woods, "Help!" He cried. Everett accidentally ran over that person with the car, "Shit."

"Everett!" Natalie huffed, punching the dashboard, "You have got to be kidding me."

Luckily the corpse had rolled off the hood, but the blood was still there. Natalie then observed a puddle on the street, it was slowly shaking in a pretty pattern, at a slow pace, like footsteps, the noises stopped. A Carnotsaurus slowly revealed its entire body from the icy shrubs, it snarled eyeing the vehicle.

"It can camouflage." Natalie murmured in awe, "Go." She blurted.

"Oh, man." Everett panicked, he was shivering in fear, he choked, he froze.

"Everett, go now." Natalie repeated this time shaking his hand, "Go."

He froze as the enormous creature's eyes peeked right into his side of the vehicle, he panted. Natalie slowly moved towards the steering wheel. Everett zoned out of his choke and gasped for air, startling Natalie and alerting the dinosaur. As a result, Natalie spun the vehicle in circles with the two inside the car.

The creature obviously feeling threatened by it, attacked. The Carnotaurus rammed into the vehicles using its thick head and horns, flipping it upside down, it began to chew on some engines. Everett and Natalie now in the inverted position didn't know what to do. Natalie unbuckled her seatbelt landing on the glass, "Come on." She insisted in a quiet tone, Everett did the same as his partner, his bulky and larger body caused the glass to make a louder thud, calling the creature's attention once again.

"When will you stop being healthy?" Natalie complained in a sarcastic way, keeping her head down.

"I don't know!" He replied with a low screaming voice, peeking out of the window.

The Carnosaurs stomped back to the front, it could smell flesh. Everett led Natalie to the trunk, where they hid. Again the creature used its snout to flip the vehicle over, luckily the humans grabbed onto something this time. The camouflaging dinosaur placed its large foot on the hood crushing it to the ground. Everett searched his bag for something useful, nothing. Natalie picked up a crowbar, climbing to the backseats.

"What are you doing?" Everett questioned, holding her arm.

"Distracting him." Natalie replied, trying to open the door, "Then we'll run for our lives."

"We will never make it." Everett grasped harder pulling her back as the dinosaur stuck its head through the backseat. Natalie screamed climbing back to the trunk, they were cornered, no way out, they were done for. The creature destroyed most of the seat, it wasn't giving up easily, it was ripping through the leather and the materials. Everett and Natalie held each other as they were probably living their final moments.

The creature suddenly stopped fighting, it cried, slipping its head out of the vehicle. The Carnosaur was in agony in some sort of way. Suspecting the behavior, the humans noticed a dart on the rear. A group of men emerged from the woods, trucks surrounded the area, along with a single helicopter flying around. The trunk's door opened, a trooper aimed the gun at the survivors, "Hands up."

Everett and Natalie did as requested, without their consent two other humans sedated them from behind. The Carnotaurus was placed inside an enormous truck, while a familiar face was imprisoned in a smaller cage in the front seat, the juvenile Nasutoceartops from before, accompanied by a crate of Compies. Nobody knew exactly where they were going, but it is definitely not a good place.
