Decisions
This time the events are taken all across the globe into a cloistered roundtable room in Washington D.C. The lights are immediately lit as the people involved took their seats around the board. The individuals were a mix of older and younger women and men in formal clothing, with one, in particular, standing in front of a chalkboard and a projector. A man in his late 40s, presumably of Latin heritage, sporting a long coat and black jeans, was the one who called for this meeting in the first place. It is said that he's the lead investigator in a case that has been followed for several years now.
He waited for everyone to make themselves comfortable as he began to speak clearly for all of those involved, "As you may know, my name is Richard Jones, an active member of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, MIT graduate, and else what."
"Good evening." The crowd responded with a high level of politeness in their tones.
The detective clicked a remote control to begin his slide show, "I am responsible for the mysterious Geneticorp case and the deaths surrounding it." He began to pass the slides, "It all began with one young man called James Elizabeth, a bright young mind, with great powers and wrong intentions. With all this power, he was able to manufacture a genetic company of his own, early operations are dated since 2016., trying to recreate what InGen once successfully accomplished.
A young woman sprang her hand up, asking for permission, "If I may." She bobbed her head, "They hadn't engineered any species by this point in time, correct?"
"According to my sources, they weren't capable of doing so just yet." He spoke, "But my research is not complete."
The lady took her own notes, "Go on."
"However, he wasn't alone while doing his dirty work." He once again passed the slides to show and expose names, "BioSyn was one of its occurrents further down the line, but in the early days, they loaned Geneticorp a few millions, with that money they were capable of bringing species that were never before cloned by its rivals. Regardless of how much of a bad man Elizabeth was, he would still have associated. Most importantly Andrew Lang, a billionaire entrepreneur, who made a deal with Elizabeth, he was going to get money under one condition, that his scientists would make Lang his own pair of dinosaurs."
A senior businessman spoke with curiosity, "How was he able to clone Uhm." He read on his paperwork, "About 20 different species if he lacked sources."
"He didn't." Richard responded with clarity, "He owned an island in east Africa and some land in California, he bred the dinosaurs on the island and transferred them to the US to sell them."
"And auctioning them is what destroyed the company." Another member expressed showing range toward the man.
Richard affirmed his statement by passing the slides, "Correct the auction went terribly wrong, dinosaurs broke loose and killed people giving Geneticorp a terrible name lawsuit followed by a lawsuit and then one year later another great amount of lives had been lost."
"What about people involved in the incidents?" The lady questioned again as she fixed her glasses.
"There have been several documented deaths, which include, Sandy Cortez Lang's assistant, James Elizabeth himself, Chief Mora from the Tun-Si tribe, an unidentified corpse devoured by tiny scavengers. Then one year later Sullivan Parks a pilot for hire, Ryan Walsh a man with no records, Amanda Lynn a Geneticorp executive and former lead animal behavior scientist, Samuel Heo the current lead scientist also suffered a saddening fate even if he was playing on the opposite side, Andrew Lang another one that had it coming and the most heartbreaking, Emily Bresset a bright young lady from New York City, her close ones say she was determined and high spirited and she would never ever give up."
"It's truly fascinating how many tragedies have happened over the course of two years." The senior citizen stated, "Were there any survivors?"
"Orville Walsh, the speculated father of one of the victims." Richard passed about five slides to get to the one explaining the mentioned man, "He used to be in co-leadership with James but when things went sideways, the devil was in the details. Walsh took the helm of the company and managed to save a good portion of it until his executives got greedy and tried to beneficiate themselves by inciting their own projects. His whereabouts are currently unknown."
Another person asked, "Is there any good soul within all this negativity?"
"Chief Mora's daughter Yvelisse survived both the incidents suffering from the loss of two close friends she currently resides in Costa Rica taking care of her father's legacy. Waden Smith, Bresset's coworker, is the only person who spoke publicly about the case, he has been working with special operations in order to bring justice. Last but not least there's the paleontologist pair, Natalie Young and Everett Carter alongside Lang's daughters Missy and Alice, the four have been MIA for the last three years, they haven't been seen since the last incident."
"Thank you for the update on the case." The lead senior congressman spoke, "I am grateful that you for one haven't dropped these tragedies, and I believe we are in good hands."
Following the end of the meeting, Richard exited the room and went onto the streets of Washington D.C. in the dead of the night. As he headed into a dark alley he was approached by an unrecognizable silhouette. A man of short stature, presumably balding was face to face with him, "Depressing that your case will be deemed closed." Before getting the chance to react, Richard was shot in the head, falling onto the floor, just before he passed he got a glimpse of the murderer, Orville Walsh.
