Chapter 5_Perfume
Alana's POV**
"Get me the ginger, honey." Mom told me, I left the carrots that I was chopping and went off to get the ginger for her.
Since she came back from New York I've been feeling so nervous, I feel guilty. I want to tell her what happened so bad but still I am afraid to do so. If I tell him about it, she will feel bad. Hell she will disown me.
I truly don't know what to do.
I hand over the ginger to her and went back to chop the carrots.
"So how did you celebrate your birthday honey, I'm sorry that I wasn't there." Mom said turning around to look at me.
"I....I....yea it was cool.....I didn't go anywhere just stayed at home sleeping." I stuttered. I don't like lying to her, but if lying to her will save her from seeing me as an embarrassment then I'm ready to lie to her.
"Are you sure?" She asked with a raised eyebrow.
I laughed and nodded my head.
"Yeah, I'm sure." I responded to her, she nods her head and continue with what she was doing. The door bell rang and I looked at my mom.
"Go and open the door, looks like your dad is back." She told me, I ran out of the kitchen, walk pass the hallway until I got to the front door.
I peep out through the keyhole and saw dad waiting impatiently in front of the door.
I pulled the door open and throw myself on him, he wrapped his hand around me hugging me back.
"Happy birthday baby girl." He said and i laughed, I look up at him and removed the strand of hair on his face.
" My birthday is yesterday daddy, you seems to have forgotten." I told him, he shrugged and stepped inside the house.
"Better late than never." He uttered. I closed the door and collected his briefcase from him.
"Where is your mother?" He asked me while I was already making my way upstairs.
"Inside the kitchen, cooking." I told him, he raised up his finger at me while I continue on my way upstairs.
I pushed open the door and walk inside the room, I went to the bed and dropped the briefcase on it then turned around to walk out of the room when my eyes caught something that peek my interest.
I walk towards the table and picked up the newspaper, the man whose picture covered the front page looks oddly familiar.
I felt like I knew him from somewhere but I don't know....I can't place my hand on where I knew him from.
" You're thinking way out of proportion, Alana." I muttered and dropped the newspaper on the table then walk towards the door.
I'm annoyed that I still don't know who that man is, he left without even a letter, nothing to recognize him.
I don't know if I should be happy that he doesn't want to have anything to do with me but.....I'm not happy about it.
I should know the man that took my virginity.....I at least deserve to know who he is.
I walk back to the kitchen and saw dad already chopping the carrots.
My father is a man that doesn't think that only women are allowed to do the house chores. Whenever he have the chance he helps my mom in the kitchen and it is so sweet watching both of them interact while cooking.
My dad is 46, he is 5'9 ft tall, have a brown hair. He is very slim, probably he is the one I took after. I'm not that slim nor chubby, just an average girl.
"So what present did you both get for me?" I asked them, my hand fold against my chest.
Dad turned to look at me and put his hand inside his pocket, he brought out his hand and hand over a small box to me.
My smile widened as I opened the box, inside the box was a silver necklace with my initial engraved on it.
"Wow Dad, I love it." I said and hugged him.
"Once again, happy birthday baby girl." He said and kissed my forehead. I smiled and stepped away from him.
"Put it on me Daddy." I told him and handover the necklace to him, I turned around and pack my hair away from my neck so that he can hook it.
He put the necklace around my neck and hook it, my finger graced the initial engraved on the necklace with a smile on my face. I really love it.
"This is beautiful, I'm jealous." Mom said and both dad and I bursted into laughter. Mom rarely get jealous so I am quite surprise that she is jealous of the necklace dad got me.
"You don't have to be jealous because I have something for you." Dad told her, she raised a questioning eyebrow at him and dad brought out a golden hand chain from his pocket.
"I saw this on your phone, I thought you like it so I ordered it just for you." Dad said.
Okay, I must say that watching my parents acting all lovey dovey is actually sometimes makes me feel some type of way but not anymore.
My parents really don't care, they do this almost every time. My mom is 42 and my dad 46 so you can guess that they are still very young to do whatever they want.
"Mom, I'll be in my room now. I have to make a call." I said and ran out of the kitchen. I ran upstairs and pushed my door open then locked it behind me.
It is really unfair that since that night, non of my friends dim it necessary to check up on me, not even a phone call nor a single message was found.
I guess this is a lesson to me, I shouldn't put my trust much on people that call themselves my friend.
I grabbed my phone and log into Facebook. I went to our group chat and quietly left it then started scrolling through my news feed.
I dropped the phone and went to my closet to grab my backpack, while grabbing my backpack my eyes caught the dress I wore to the club last night.
I bite on my lips and walk towards it. I let my finger graze the hem of the dress, I pulled the dress to my face and sniffed in a strange scent. It is sweet, intoxicating, daring. The scent is beautiful. The most surprising part is that it is not mine, that means it belongs to the man I had s*x with.
My face lite up when an idea came into my head. Maybe I can find him through this perfume, this perfume smells so rich, I doubt if their are many people who wears it.
Through this perfume, it is for sure that I will find out who he really is.
