Chapter 13

Her throat had a strange feeling to it as she woke up and brushing a hand against it revealed the familiar line of stitches. Zheth turned her head to the side as she blinked a few more times to see she was locked in a cell, a scowl formed on her face and she stood up to glare back at Poe as he stood outside staring at the ground while General Organa and Han stood on either side of him.

"What have you told them about us?" General Organa's voice had lost all kindness it had once held for her.

Zheth gave her a cold look in return. "Why don't you tell me how long you've known about my family first?"

"You're a spy for the First Order, I could have you killed for it." General Organa responded back.

"Go ahead. Your best pilot couldn't do it... I'd love to see you give it a shot." Irritation flashed through her until a faint red tinted her vision, she forced it away and leaned against the wall. "I told them nothing. The only thing they know is whatever Kylo Ren got from Poe's head, assuming Ren did that little trick with him, and my mind."

"How can we trust you aren't lying?" Poe questioned, his eyes once again betraying the pain he felt as he watched her.

She smirked. "I have no reason to lie, but then again, no reason not to. You'll just have to trust me."

"And say we do?" Poe challenged. "Do you think you'll be allowed out of there?"

"I don't plan on getting out of here. I'll rot in here; you know I don't mind dying... but you won't leave me here for long. You need supplies and I'm just an extra mouth to feed. The Resistance isn't cruel, you'll kill me before letting me starve, so I'm not too worried."

There was silence. It continued to stretch between them for a long time until a static noise sounded from something in General Organa's hand that she currently had behind her back. Upon hearing the sound, she opened the cell door and tossed what Zheth could now identify as her communicator to her. She caught it and gave the older woman a questioning glance.

"Tell them you are fine and everything is going as planned." General Organa ordered.

She sneered back. "Why should I? I die either way."

"Kid's got a point." Han shrugged before seeing his wife's expression. "But I'm sure you'd rather have a quick death than a slow one."

Zheth scoffed but answered the incoming communication. "What's up now Ginger?"

"Predator, you're alive." Was that relief she detected in his voice? "The tracker changed color... you were in danger. Did they figure out what you're doing?"

A smirk came over her face, much to the others' confusion, as they couldn't hear General Hux's words. "Aw, you're worried about me. That's adorable Foxy Freak, I didn't know you had that emotion in you!"

"Did they figure it out?" Hux repeated.

"Of course... not!" She gave a slight laugh. "What do you think I am, an idiot? I haven't survived this long just for a group of rebel scum to figure out I'm spying on them."

"Did you really have to add scum?" Poe muttered under his breath.

"Who is with you?" She was faintly surprised he was able to hear Poe. "Are you compromised?"

"Uh..." Zheth glanced from the three in front of her to the direction the landing bay was in. "No, it just echoes in my current location. Jeez Ginger, any more uptight and those pants you wear are going to follow your underwear up your butt."

"Predator!" His voice came out as a growl. "Just get me the information."

"I have the map." She said suddenly. "I stole it from the BB-8 unit since I noticed our dear Kylo Ren failed to get it... although I'm also getting some other information as we speak."

"At least some people came get stuff done." Phasma's voice could be heard in the background. "Lord Ren got some useless scavenger girl... stubborn one too. We should've just killed her."

"Well, once I bring back the map you can do just that." Her tone sounded a bit more menacing than she meant it too and she swore Han paled a bit. "I'm leaving soon. The Resistance thinks I'm getting them more supplies, they'll never know what hit them."

"Good..." Hux trailed off before ending the conversation awkwardly. "My dear little Monster."

The communication ended and Zheth gave a slight laugh. "Phasma totally made him say that last part..."

"You don't actually think we'll let you leave, do you?" Poe stood in her way. "You're staying in this cell."

"Let's see what Hux has to say to that." She started the communication again. "Hey General, I might have a correction to make."

"What do you mean?" To her surprise it was Kylo's voice.

She smirked before speaking as though he was a timid child, though faint mockery stayed in her tone. "Hey Emo, finally done sulking in that dark room of yours?"

"What do you mean, bounty hunter?" He growled.

"Yeah, I'm on my way back... I was caught but I still have the data I promised." She lunged at Poe as she spoke, tossing the surprised pilot to the ground where she knelt down on his throat to choke him. "These idiots don't have a prayer of catching me once I get a ship."

"You better not fail me." Kylo Ren responded.

"Trust me Knight of Tantrums, I'll get you the data, just go destroy something while you wait... Oh, and you better have my payment when this is done!"

"Whatever... I'll get Hux on that."

Poe's hands stopped clawing at her and she stared down at him as his eyes started to close before smirking up to see only General Organa was still there. "Let him go and you'll get your ship."

"I'll require some fake data unless you prefer handing me the real ones over to the First Order." She lifted her weight off and heard Poe give several strangled coughs.

"That will be given to you." General Organa agreed. "Just wait a few moments."

"Of course." She started limping back towards the landing bay. "I'll go find a ship that looks like it was attacked by you people."

She heard a scuffling sound behind her as she walked and whirled around to see Poe lunging at her. The two crashed to the ground and she struggled under him before being hauled to her feet and dragged after him. "I'll pick out your ship, not that I don't trust you, I just don't believe in you anymore."

She could feel blood dripping from her previously inflicted wounds as she followed after him but didn't complain. Zheth did pause slightly as a familiar ship caught her eyes. "Hey, I remember that ship... Stole it from some other ship thief. Not as garbage as it looks-"

"Well that isn't the one you're taking." Poe tugged her forward and over to a ship with blast marks marring its surface. "This is your ship. Stable enough to fly and go to lightspeed... and easy enough to shoot down if required."

"Gee, thanks." Zheth muttered.

Han walked over solemnly before holding out the faked information to her. "The Resistance will give you a day or so to convince the First Order you're still with them... after that we blow Star Killer base out of the galaxy."

"With me on it?"

"If it comes down to it." Han nodded. "But I will see what I can do, I'd like to get to know my children a bit before they blow up."

"Hmm, why do I get a bad feeling something is going to go wrong?" She sighed and got into the ship, missing her father's expression.

"If this works, I'm sure General Organa will answer your questions and pardon you." Poe informed her before walking off.

Zheth ignored him and started flying off towards the First Order, Star Killer, if Han's words were right, instead of the Finalizer. It wasn't until she went to lightspeed that she realized Han had said children and not child... who else was in the First Order related to her? Did she have family Nathale and Das Torre never spoke to her about? She felt a chill go through her.
