(Y/N) didn't know if it's been only seconds or minutes since she hid from Lorien and his wrath. She was starting to lose track of time and wondered if anyone really noticed if she'd gone missing from the ballroom, but she knew that it was very unlikely.
The only person who'd know that she was missing was Henry, and she doubts that he'd try and find her when he's most likely right at the center of the room, enjoying the huge amount of attention he's getting from the female nobles.
The young Ardania sighed, raking her fingers through her hair and bit her lower lip thoughtfully. If she could escape the party and leave with her maid, Lily, and her driver, would anyone notice at all? She could most likely slip out of the palace without anyone noticing or just make up some random excuse that permits her to go home straight away.
She knew that visiting the palace and potentially meeting the princes would be bad but she didn't expect it to be this bad.
(Y/N) sighed hopelessly again and just as she was about to close her eyes and take a brief rest, she heard the door to the room where she was hiding in open.
Her eyes widened in fear and her body stiffened. She held her breath and cupped her mouth with her free hand to stop herself from escaping even the tiniest bit of sounds.
'Is that Lorien? Did he realize where I was?' she thought while trying to compose herself.
It felt like her worst nightmares came to life when the sound of knocking from the doors of the wardrobe entered her ears. Hearing someone shuffling outside, (Y/N)'s heartbeat became rapid and she felt like she couldn't breathe.
"You can come out now. The hothead is gone." A muffled voice came from outside the wardrobe. They sounded nothing like Lorien.
Still feeling a bit skeptical, (Y/N)'s shoulders loosened and her hands were slightly lowered from her mouth but she still didn't come out of the wardrobe. After a few seconds have passed, the wardrobe flung open, revealing a short black-haired boy coldly looking down at her with the same red eyes that Lorien has, except instead of the fiery and aggressive fire that danced around the irises of the fourth prince, this boy's red eyes looked very cold and heartless. There was no fire or warmth at all.
"Are you going to keep me waiting or are you going to stop being a trembling mess and get out of the wardrobe?" He asked sharply with a scowl in his face. (Y/N) stared at the boy's face for another few seconds until her urge to just leave the castle became increasingly high.
'Great. Right after I meet Lorien, my unlucky ass really wanted me to hate this place even more by letting me meet Allen next.' she thought while sending Allen, the fifth prince, a deadpan look before stepping out of the wardrobe, holding her heels in her hands.
"I can't tell if you're very dumb or just stupidly brave for shouting at a prince like that, especially at Lorien." commented Allen, who crossed his arms while eyeing the now haggard (H/C) haired girl with a disapproving look. "You'd better get yourself cleaned up. You're a female noble; you should look more presentable than that. Running through the halls of the palace barefoot... you're like an animal."
"He was accusing me of something I didn't do and even attempted to hit me. I had the right to be angry." responded (Y/N) as she ignored Allen's comment of how bad she looks like right now or how she removed her heels to run faster. She doesn't really care about what she currently looks like right now, all she wanted was to leave the palace as soon as possible.
"I saw what happened." Allen snapped at the girl. "Even if you did have the right to be angry, you were still shouting at a prince. You need to learn your place and hold your tongue."
(Y/N) resisted the urge to roll her eyes at Allen's words while slipping her heels on. "I am deeply sorry, your majesty, but it would leave a bitter taste in my mouth if I were to let someone talk me down and unfairly accuse me of something I didn't do just because they're at a higher position than me."
As she finally finished wearing both of her heels, she fully turned towards Allen with her (E/C) eyes narrowed. "I'm a human - I have every right to justify myself and react appropriately when someone wrongly approaches me."
Allen, who was displeased with her answer, gave her a scowl and narrowed his eyes as well. "Be careful of who you're talking to, imbecile. I'm a prince - I could very well have you executed tomorrow if you continue to displease me further."
(Y/N) decided to not talk anymore. She was annoyed, but she didn't want to die just a day after she was reincarnated. Even if there was a chance that Allen might be bluffing, (Y/N) didn't take that chance as she knew that this egotistical prince meant it - he wasn't someone to mess around with, other than Lorien.
She resorted to glancing down to the floor to avoid his eyes, but this looked like a bad idea. "Look at me when I'm talking to you." She heard Allen say. Hesitatingly, (Y/N) lifted her head and begrudgingly kept her annoyed eyes on Allen's cold red ones.
Satisfied, Allen's scowl disappeared and he felt good knowing that threatening someone with execution could make them behave and follow his orders, even if (Y/N) looked visibly annoyed with how he was using his power as a prince. "Now," he cleared his throat. "you will go back to the ballroom and stay there until you are called. It is almost time for the choosing, after all."
(Y/N)'s ears perked up when she heard the last part. "The choosing?"
"It's when the princes choose one of the female nobles that came here today so we can proceed to have an engagement with them." Allen replied as he rolled his eyes. "Goodness, you're a female noble but you don't know about this?"
Ignoring Allen's comment, (Y/N) thoughtfully lifted her eyes up to the ceiling for a second before shrugging her shoulders. 'Well, it's not like any of them would choose me so I shouldn't worry.'
Allen, who noticed that the girl didn't seem to enthusiastic about the idea of having one of the princes choose her as a potential bride, raised his eyebrow curiously. Most female nobles would be squealing or look happy or nervous that the choosing is growing nearer.
"Hm, you don't seem to happy about it." said Allen before he could stop himself. He was just way too curious to know what (Y/N)'s reaction meant.
(Y/N) snapped out of her thoughtful daze and turned to look at the black haired prince. 'Shit, is he offended or something?' she thought.
"Please don't misunderstand, Prince Allen. It's just that I don't think any of the princes would choose me at all." said (Y/N) as she waved her hands around nervously. "Besides, the idea of being engaged hasn't even crossed my mind yet. I wish to spend my childhood free from any responsibilities as a prince's fiancé."
'Hm, does she have low-self esteem?' thought Allen as he observed the nervous young girl. 'Well, she's not lying - none of us would most likely choose her. She looks like she doesn't have the slightest idea of how to act like a proper noble or be a prince's fiancé. Her attitude and behaviour is a huge problem too.'
"Hm." is all what Allen could say. (Y/N) felt relieved that she didn't have to explain any further. The two children were silent for a few seconds until Allen cleared his throat once more and looked straight into (Y/N)'s eyes.
"Tell me your name, female noble." He said- actually, more like ordered in a stern voice. (Y/N) hesitated for a second before silently sighing through her nose. Giving her name out to someone like Allen was probably a bad idea, but she had no choice. "(Y/N)." She replied.
"Last name?" asked Allen.
"...Ardania." said (Y/N) and slapped herself mentally when she almost told Allen her last name in her previous life.
The red-eyed prince observed the girl for a while before beckoning for her to follow him outside of the room. "Follow me." He said. (Y/N) followed silently behind him while straightening her blue dress and arranging the ribbon behind her back that was now tipped over to the side.
She also used her fingers to comb through her hair, untangling some of her (H/C) locks and smoothening them until she felt satisfied. 'At least this'll make me look less like an idiot when I get back to the ballroom.'
"I do not want to see any chaos around the palace any longer, so for my sake, I shall accompany you to the ballroom and avoid any places where Lorien could be searching for you." said Allen, making (Y/N) frown.
'Wouldn't the ballroom be the first place he's going to search if he's looking for me?'
"Idiot. He's not that dumb to cause trouble in the middle of the ballroom when everyone's watching." responded Allen with a scowl.
'Shit. Did I say that out loud?' (Y/N) was startled at his answer and mentally cursed herself when she realized that she was, indeed, thinking out loud.
The girl didn't say anything else from that point, or even think. She was too nervous that she might've accidentally said her thoughts out loud again and make Allen despise her more for her so-called 'idiocy'.
Turning through the fancy hallways, (Y/N) almost felt tired just from following the black haired prince in front of her. Had she really gotten this far away from the ballroom?
Then, just as she was about to sigh in defeat, a cheerful voice called out from behind them. "Allen!" They said, causing the two to turn around and look at the source of the voice.
The person was running towards them and the closer he was, the more (Y/N) recognized him. Instead of feeling dread that she was meeting another prince that could make her hate this day more than ever, she almost cried when she saw the familiar boy with the wide nervous smile stretched on his lips.
'Thank god, it's Lucas! The only decent one out of all the princes! I would've been running away if it was Henry, Elias, or Lorien!' she thought happily. (Y/N) always favoured Lucas out of all the princes, probably because he was the only character who was nice to her when he was first introduced in the game. His route was also the first route that (Y/N) played.
Lucas, being the youngest of all the princes, was actually the only boy who was the same age as (Y/N) and Charlotte. Because he was young, he was often being pampered by his mother and the king, who kept saying that he should be given more attention because he's the 'youngest'.
Lucas had Mistress Cecilia's silk white hair. His hair was the longest out of all the princes, but his hair was not outlandishly long like Charlotte's or anything. (Y/N) remembered that Lucas first wanted to cut it short at the very second week of school because everyone were talking behind his back about how feminine he looked when he had long hair, making fun of him and accusing him of wanting to act like a girl.
However, Lucas kept his hair long when the player (or Charlotte, in this case) told him that he was handsome the way he is and that he didn't have to cut his hair just because people were making fun of him. To make it better, Charlotte offered to tie his hair into a ponytail, which suited him very well.
As Lucas inherited Mistress Cecilia's white hair, he also inherited King Ferdinand's emerald green eyes. It was an understatement to say that Lucas looked very gentle and handsome - he's like an angel, which is one of the things that (Y/N) liked most about him.
'However...' (Y/N) nervously glanced beside her and saw Allen's scowl growing deeper at the sight of Lucas. She lightly scratched her cheek, remembering that Allen disliked Lucas ever since they were children. 'Is this gonna end up well?'
"Allen, nice to see you!" Lucas beamed happily when he stopped right in front of the two, his green eyes looked like there were glitters and were sparkling beautifully underneath the lights of the hallways.
Allen didn't reply, making Lucas' smile slightly waver before he turned his head to acknowledge the young (H/C) haired girl. His face was surprised for a second but he immediately went back to smiling. "You didn't tell me that you had a friend!"
"She's not a friend." said Allen, his patience growing thinner the longer Lucas was in his presence.
"She's not?" Lucas tilted his head to the side, looking at (Y/N) again curiously. The girl couldn't do anything but nervously wave at Lucas, then remembering that she was in the presence of a prince.
"Ah, I apologize for not introducing myself earlier, Prince Lucas," said (Y/N) with a bow. "I'm (Y/N) Ardania. Prince Allen is accompanying me towards the ballroom as it looks like I've gotten lost while looking for the bathroom."
Lucas blinked at the girl's introduction as Allen silently huffed beside her with his arms crossed aggressively. "I see!" The white haired boy grinned once again. "Can I accompany you two as well? Can I? Can I?" asked Lucas while holding his hands together.
He looked pleadingly at his older brother, who had his eyes closed in annoyance. Clicking his tongue, Allen turned around. "You accompany her to the ballroom and don't let Lorien see her. I've got some matters I need to take care of." He said before walking away from the two, not even bothering to look back.
"A-Ah, Allen...!" Lucas called out to his brother but felt defeated when Allen seemed to be ignoring his calls. (Y/N) looked back and forth at the two siblings, frowning at the relationship these two are having right now.
She wished to help but decided against it, knowing that Charlotte will be the one who'll help the two once they get older. She didn't want to mess things up more than she already has.
Lucas looked troubled for what looked like minutes before looking back up at the frowning girl beside him. "Ah, I'm sorry. I'm s-supposed to be accompanying you back to the um... ballroom, right?"
(Y/N) remembered that Lucas was not very good when it came to socializing. He was sheltered his entire life as he was the youngest prince, so she didn't blame him. "Yes, although if you also have matters you need to take care of, I am more than capable of returning to the ballroom myself."
"It's no problem, Lady A-Ardania. As someone who's more familiar of the palace, I should- um... I should escort you back." stuttered Lucas again. He almost wanted to cry again, wondering if (Y/N) was going to make fun of him for being unable to talk properly to strangers.
He could only really talk properly around his brothers after all.
"I am moved by your kindness, Prince Lucas." (Y/N) bowed once more and almost wanted to squeal when she just noticed how cute young Lucas looked like. "Thank you."
Lucas didn't know what to say so he only beckoned for her to follow him. (Y/N) trailed behind him, smiling happily when she finally met someone decent around this place for once. It was breathtaking, to say the least.
'Me laughing at Henry, Elias giving me a jumpscare, Peter... well, Peter was just really awkward to be around, Lorien wanting to murder me, and Allen acting like a bitch... Lucas is really a game-changer.' she thought.
While (Y/N) was occupied with her thoughts, Lucas felt like the silence was suffocating. He had to think of some sort of conversation topic to not let it get awkward.
"Um... t-that reminds me, what did Allen mean by not letting Lorien see you? Did Lorien do something to you?" asked Lucas.
"Oh," (Y/N) snapped out of her thoughts and placed her attention back to the white haired boy. "It's a long story but um... Prince Lorien and I got into a uh... some sort of argument. I ended up pushing him to the ground when he was about to punch me and I hid from him until Prince Allen found me."
"Y-You pushed him...?" Lucas was terrified for her. No one ever pushed Lorien before, especially since he was very violent and could very well punch people just for small reasons.
Even Elias doesn't cross that boundary since he doesn't want to get killed.
"That's..." Lucas was at loss for words. (Y/N) could only nervously laugh to make the vibe more light-hearted, even after knowing that she might get beaten to death later after the choosing was over when Lorien pulls her away from the crowd.
The white haired boy cleared his throat, glancing at her worriedly from time to time. "In any case, we should avoid bumping into Lorien. We're almost to the ballroom, but we should still be wary." He said. "We don't want him to um... Well, end up punching you or anything..."
'Gee, that's reassuring.' (Y/N) thought, who nodded at Lucas' words and continued to follow him through the hallways of the large palace silently.

(Y/N) was most thankful to Lucas when she finally arrived back to the ballroom without Lorien finding her and possibly beating her up to a bloody pulp. Well, she thought that it's mostly her fault for provoking Lorien, but her she couldn't control herself from talking back to a prince, especially when she was being accused without any reason.
After thanking the young prince, who was trying way too hard to not to be seen by the female nobles through the open door, (Y/N) slipped inside the ballroom with an exhausted sigh.
It's only been 3 hours since she got to the palace and she's already tired. 'Well, I've never been outside for longer than two hours except when I'm going to school... it's not like I've had any friends back then who could take me to malls or anything...' she thought.
'I don't expect any of the other nobles would like me after giving off such a horrendous first impression too.' (Y/N) sighed when she saw some of the female nobles glancing towards her way with a sneer, not even hiding the fact that they're talking about her from behind their fans.
Ignoring them as she was already somewhat used to the idea of ignoring people in the first place, (Y/N) glanced around the room to see if a certain pink haired prince was around the vicinity so she could avoid him.
After having consecutive encounters with the princes, she's not sure if she could take another one, especially when it's one of the most troublesome princes of the game.
To her relief, Henry wasn't in the ballroom. None of the princes were. (Y/N) figured that it was almost time for the choosing so all of the princes were probably called by the king, who was going to make an announcement again anytime soon.
And she was right.
After ten minutes of being in the ballroom and regaining her composure by munching on some of the baked goods that were left on the snack table and refreshing herself by drinking a glass of water, the doors to the ballroom were burst open.
Everyone's eyes and attention were suddenly drifted towards the head butler that welcomed everyone when they first arrived at the palace just earlier today.
"Lady nobles, please follow me to the throne room."
That simple sentence was enough for everyone to stop what they're doing and follow the middle aged man out of the ballroom. (Y/N) quickly stuffed her half-eaten muffin inside her mouth, chewing it with haste before gulping down some water. Wiping her mouth with her arm, she quickly followed the group of chattering female nobles who were muttering excitedly for being a potential bride of a prince.
Following the head butler, everyone's eyes were wide open with awe as they were led to a large throne room that looked something like it was made out of storybooks. (Y/N) was amazed at how open, fancy, and overwhelming the throne room was. If anything, it was easily the most extraordinary part of the castle.
Large glass abstract windows were placed at the left and right side of the tall towering walls of the room, which were framed with gold. Two large black chandeliers loomed ominously above them, however the candles that were lit in each candle holders gave the room a warm sensation. Arched structures that supported the circular ceiling were placed on the sides of the walls.
Banners with symbols that (Y/N) couldn't recognize from the game hung from the ceiling. She figured that the symbols represented the kingdom and the country. Probably the name of the group of knights that served the king as well.
Two large golden thrones were placed at the very front of the room. However, the throne on the very center was bigger than the one on his right. On his left was a smaller throne, but instead of it being golden, it was a silver one. On these thrones sat the proud King Ferdinand Ingrasia III, Queen Alicia Ingrasia, and Mistress Cecilia Ingrasia (who was looking quite nervous).
The stairs that led up to the thrones were covered by a wide red carpet that reached up to the foot of the king's throne from the doorway, where the awe-struck female nobles stood. The doors were guarded by stern looking guards, who definitely looked like someone you don't want to mess around with.
At the very side near the thrones stood the six princes, watching the nervous yet bewildered nobles enter the throne room. (Y/N)'s amazement soon disappeared when her eyes landed upon Lorien's figure, who seemed to be scanning the crowd, looking for someone.
Specifically, that someone was her.
Gulping, (Y/N) trailed further from the back of the group to hide herself. Just at least until she was going to directly face Lorien, who surely wouldn't do anything if his father and his mother was watching.
'Just a little bit more, me. Just a little bit more and you'll get to go home and forget that all of this has ever happened.' She lightly encouraged herself, causing her to smile at the newfound motivation to endure her painful visit at the palace just a little longer.
The doors to the throne room closed and (Y/N) lightly flinched at the loud sound that echoed around the room. It was silent for a moment - none of the nobles even talked. None of them seemed to breathe even.
It wasn't until King Ferdinand's booming voice caused everyone to breathe properly once again from the tension that piled up in the throne room. "I thank you all once more for coming today, beautiful female nobles of the kingdom." He said as he stood up and watched over the nobles' faces.
"It is now time for the choosing - the main event of today's search for my sons' engagements." He said. "Hopefully, one of them gets to choose today so I may finally be able to retire peacefully." King Ferdinand coughed, eyeing at his sons, specifically Henry, who glanced away from his father mischievously.
"Now, may I ask all of you to please form one line before my oldest son shall do the honors of going through each and every one of you to choose as his bride."
As soon as King Ferdinand finished, the nobles started making one straight line. Some girls were fighting for some positions, especially the first one since it was closer to the princes and they thought they'd really have the chance when they're the first thing the princes see.
As for (Y/N), she was perfectly content with being the last one. Maybe they'd even give up halfway due to how long the line is, but she doubts that the king would just let any of them do that. Although she was sure that she wasn't going to get chosen, (Y/N) still felt unnerved for some reason.
So what if she did get chosen?
Did she ever think about what she was going to do after that? She couldn't possibly deny the prince's proposal right in front of the king and the queen - that's suicide.
If only she wasn't doomed to die at 16 years old by the hands of one of the princes that Charlotte was going to end up with, she would've been fine with it. She could've even tried to be more pleasant with Lucas to gain affinity points so he could choose her.
However, it's a matter of life and death. If she gets engaged with any of them, she's doomed. It doesn't matter if it's not Elias - (Y/N) being engaged was one of the most vital parts in the story of the game. She was executed because everyone thought she was a corrupted noble who used her privileges as a prince's fiancée and wanted to bring justice (aside from the fact that she almost got Charlotte killed), and she was exiled for the very same reason.
While she was deep in her thoughts, (Y/N) didn't even hear the king announce that Henry will now begin to choose. It was only when everyone got eerily silent that (Y/N) snapped out of her thoughts and assumed that something was wrong.
She looked over from the very far end of the line and looked troubled as Henry observed the girls with a charming smile. Although he was smiling smoothly at every single one of them, he just passed them by as if they were nothing.
The girls that Henry passed frowned sadly. Anyone who was looking forward to being chosen by this pink haired prince was obviously upset.
As soon as Henry was nearing the end of the line, (Y/N) straightened herself and tried very hard to not look like she was constipated when Henry stopped and stared at her. Gulping, (Y/N) almost felt small at Henry's observant green eyes.
"Hm." He said as his eyes narrowed further and leaned closer towards the (H/C) haired girl with a finger under his chin, his mischievous smile only widening as the girl was getting more uncomfortable.
'Please just go away, please just go away, please just go away, please just go away!' she internally screamed inside her mind and leaned her body away from Henry when he was getting too close for comfort.
After what seemed to be an eternity, Henry finally leaned away and strutted back to where his brothers were. (Y/N) exhaled and finally managed to loosen her shoulders as soon as Henry was finally away from her space. "Unfortunately, I couldn't seem to find the perfect girl that could possibly be my bride. However, I do still think that every single one of them are very beautiful." He stated, much to the dismay of his father, who groaned and face-palmed for a second.
Henry glanced over to the very end of the line and stared at the sighing (Y/N), before smiling once again and drifting his attention back to his father.
Elias was next. Contrary to Henry, Elias' choosing didn't take very long. He was just walking past the girls with a bored look, which just looked unnatural on him when (Y/N) saw him - he was constantly grinning when she saw him in the game after all.
When the black haired boy reached the end of the line however, he stopped for a second before sticking his tongue out at the girl and turned away with a playful scoff and a noticeable smirk. 'Dick.' she thought and almost stuck her tongue out as well but held herself back when he remembered that she was in the presence of the king.
She'll have her own tongue cut out when he sees her sticking her tongue out towards his son.
Perhaps Elias was grinning because she knew she can't do anything as long as he was with the king, and that thought irritated her more.
Next was Peter. With his deep magenta eyes that looked over through the girls like they were books that was uninteresting for him to read, (Y/N) almost felt impressed that he kept his gaze at the girls the whole time. She was under the impression that he'd just stare at the ground as he walked by, but figured that the choosing would be useless if he did that.
As Peter reached the end of the line, he also stopped and stared at (Y/N) for a moment. He looked like he was struggling in a conflict inside his mind that it made (Y/N) nervous. 'Is he thinking of choosing me? Dear god, I hope not.' she thought fearfully. Peter opened his mouth to speak but immediately closed it like he caught himself before he could say something that could seal his fate forever.
Turning around, Peter said nothing as he walked back to where his brothers were. Even with the silence from the third prince, the king knew that he didn't choose anyone. Sighing, he let Lorien be next.
(Y/N) gulped and almost thought about running out of the throne room or hiding behind one of the pillars in the throne room until Lorien finished going through the girls. However, she knew that none of those plans would work and she needed to suck it up.
Lorien irritatingly passed through the line of girls who flinched at his narrowed red eyes. He had a scowl on his face but his mind was focused on finding the girl that dared to push him earlier. Hands in his pockets, Lorien continued walking past them until he reached the end of the line.
As soon as his red eyes landed on (Y/N)'s nervous figure, his scowl deepened and his fists were tightened. He could feel his own teeth chattering as (Y/N) looked anywhere else but her own feet and the doors that now looked oddly interesting.
Lorien walked closer towards the girl and kept his hard aggressive glare at her, then whispered; "You're lucky that you're in the presence of the king and my mother. Otherwise, you'd already be dead."
'What the fuck- did he just-!' (Y/N) felt very disturbed at the fact that Lorien was just threatening her. She frowned and breathed out a sigh of relief when Lorien was finally walking back to his place.
'He's so scary. Now I wish I had done Peter's route instead of his before I died.' She thought while watching Allen now walk over towards the discouraged line of female nobles. 'Then again, his tsundere attitude at the end made his route worth it.'
Allen wasted no time and just walked through the girls like they were nothing to him. He didn't even bother glancing at them from time to time - he thought that this was useless.
However, (Y/N) caught a glimpse of his red eyes glancing over her for a second before he turned away. 'Must be my imagination.' She thought.
Last was Lucas. He was slower than the princes who were walking over to the girls. He looked like he couldn't tell if he should look down at the floor or at the girls since he's not really interested in being engaged at a very young age. At least, no one has managed to him convinced him to think about engagements yet.
The girls were looking desperate too, which added more to Lucas' conscience. (Y/N) frowned. She never liked seeing him in trouble, especially since he's always had a bad time looking at people directly.
He was almost close to tears when he finally reached the end of the line. When his glossy green eyes landed on (Y/N), he felt grateful when she was lightly waving at him while her hands are kept on her side. She sent him a reassuring smile, which Lucas didn't expect but felt happy about it nonetheless.
Returning the smile, Lucas walked back to where his brothers were then told the king that he hasn't chosen anyone. King Ferdinand sighed, now feeling defeated that none of his sons chose a bride this year as well.
"Another year wasted." He muttered and thought about why his sons aren't choosing anyone to be engaged with yet. Both Queen Alicia and Mistress Cecilia were looking equally worried at their husband's reaction.
The girls were also looking devastated and sad that none of them were chosen to be a prince's bride. (Y/N) was the only girl who seemed to be relieved by the news that she closed her eyes and sighed in relief, her posture slouching as she let her shoulders loosen.
'I'm safe... I can finally go home without any worry!' she thought blissfully and almost wanted to cry when she realized she won't have to worry about the princes for another six years until she finally goes to school with them.
Heck, she thought she was already settled for life right at this moment. She was way too deep in her thoughts that she tuned out the king's words.
'I can finally go home!'
»»----- ♡ -----««
"Ah... what a day." sighed (Y/N) as she slumped on her carriage seat and stretched her arms in satisfaction. "I'm glad I can finally go home and sleep!"
The sun had already set by the time she walked out of the palace. It was surprising to see that she's been in that place for hours and didn't even notice that it was already nighttime, but she figured that it made sense since she was feeling drowsy at the moment.
Lily, the maid, sighed at her lady's actions. "Lady (Y/N), perhaps you should sit properly. Your mother would not like it if she sees you acting like this."
"Mother is not here right now so I should be fine. You won't snitch on me, will you?"
"Well, no but still..."
"Then it's fine if I stay like this for a while. I'm too tired to even sit properly. I can't rest when I'm sitting down like that..."
"If you say so..."
The ride back home was silent, but that's how (Y/N) liked. Right now, a moment of peace and silence was something she needed after her disastrous meeting with the six princes of the kingdom.
She even managed to escape the palace without Lorien murdering her or having the princes not be engaged to her, so she could arguably say that it was a victory on her side.
Just then, a thought occured to her; what was she going to do now that she has six years until everything goes downhill? Should she prepare for the day until she finally goes to school with Charlotte? Or should she leave it be and enjoy her new childhood as a noble's daughter for now?
All of these thoughts swirled inside the young girl's mind that it made her more exhausted just thinking about how she was going to spend her newfound freedom starting tomorrow.
It made her tired that the moment she stepped into the Ardania manor, she crashed on her bed to sleep without even changing her clothes, much to the surprise of Charlotte and the dismay of her parents and her maid, Lily.
