Glimpses of the Rays (i)
The ashram of Gurumata Kalindi was nestled amidst a serene forest, its tranquility offering solace to weary souls. Rajkumari Nilasi, clad in a simple yet elegant saffron saree, stepped through the arched wooden gate, her face shadowed with sorrow. Her usual regal demeanor seemed subdued, and her eyes, brimming with unshed tears, betrayed the turmoil within.
The gentle rustle of leaves and the soft chants of the disciples surrounded her, but Nilasi seemed oblivious. She carried a heavy heart, weighed down by a decision she had been forced to make. The weight of duty as a princess clashed with the desires of her heart, leaving her in turmoil.
Gurumata Kalindi, seated on a woven mat under a grand banyan tree, noticed her approach. The venerable woman exuded a calming presence, her aged but kind eyes reflecting wisdom and compassion. As Nilasi reached her, she folded her hands in a respectful pranam, her voice trembling as she spoke.
"Pranam, Gurumata," she began softly, her words barely audible. "I seek guidance, for my heart is torn, and I find no peace."
Kalindi studied the young princess for a moment, her gaze piercing yet gentle. She gestured for Nilasi to sit beside her on the cool grass. "Child," she said, her voice soothing like a lullaby, "the burden you carry is heavy, but the answers lie within you. Tell me what troubles your soul."
As the Rajkumari began to pour out her heart, the ashram seemed to hold its breath, the forest itself offering its silent support to the young woman seeking clarity amidst her storm.
Soft as silk, yet strong as steel,
My family’s bond is all I feel.
A princess true, both kind and bold,
Harm them once, and you’ll be told.
~~~Nilasi
