Chapter 48

Uttara P.O.V

I stood there for couple of minutes staring at the door from where Prince Abhimanyu just left. I know what I did was wrong but destroying life's because I wasn't strong enough to face the truth would have been more wrong. Now I have to find my Prince but from where would I start? I don't even know his name nor I know that if he likes me or not. I groaned and sat on the bed, now I am feeling that I am the most stupid person, without any confirmation, I took the most important decision of my life not thinking about the consequences.

What if he doesn't like me?

What if he deny my love because he is brother of Prince Abhimanyu?

What if---

I sighed and lie down staring at the ceiling, what should I do now!

Love is not always easy but love is always right and worth fighting for !

I remembered Lord Krishna words to me that gave me boost and I stand up, clenching my fist in determination. I will search for him and tell him about my feelings even if he denies it, atleast I won't have regret in my life. I walked out of the door, I will have to face my fear, I took a decision, I will remain firm on it. Everyone was busy in the preparation of wedding, I ignored it and went out of the Castle. I will go outside of the Kingdom, I will meet my mysterious Prince today even if people question me about it. "Charioteer, ready the chariot I have to visit outside of the Kingdom" I called to the charioteer, he quickly nodded his head and moved out. I slowly walked outside and get on the chariot riding towards the pandavas city.

It's time to face the truth.

Abhimanyu P.O.V

I walked out of her chamber, my heart hurting more as I remember her words. I had a tiny hope inside me that maybe it was all a misunderstanding that's why I wanted to hear it from her mouth but now everything is clear. I have to talk to mother, I know she will be hurt by the news but letting her know the truth is important, I can't give her false hope anymore. When I moved towards Uncle, he looked at me giving me a small smile. I tried to smile back but I couldn't, his smile vanished as he looked at me sadly. "What happened, son?" he asked as I reached near him. I sighed and told him everything. There is no point in hiding anything. People are going to find out either way when the wedding will be called off. He put his hand on my shoulder and gave me one of his serene smile. "Son, whatever is in our fate, no one can take it, if Uttara would be destined to be with you, she will be with you" he said truthfully, I sighed, I know what he is saying is truth and I have come to accept it. "Now, don't be sad, come on, we have to talk to your mother as well" he said taking me towards the chariot. I closed my eyes and grimaced, Mother is going to be furious.

We went towards our city and slowly walked towards mother's chamber. "Don't worry, I know your mother, she is going to be fine" Uncle said in reassurance but his face said otherwise, he looked kind of scared to go there. I stopped in my track, he looked at me raising his eyebrows. "Uncle, I think I should go there alone" I said, he visibly sighed in relief, if the situation wasn't so serious I would have laughed. "Take care son" he said and with that I walked away from him. I entered in her chamber, she was using her fire element, creating a ball in her palm and changing it into shapes. I stood there mesmerizing, when I was kid, she used to do this for me. I was always fascinated with her powers. Suddenly my face fell as I saw the fire taking shape of two individuals who were putting garlands in each other's neck. She is thinking about my marriage with Uttara. "Mother" I said clearing my throat, her head snapped towards me and a smile appeared on her face, ball vanished away from her hand. "Little warrior, come here and sit beside me" she said with a smile beckoning me to come towards her. I slowly walked towards her and with hesitation sit beside her. She turned around and put her palm on my cheek. "I was busy in all the preparation, I couldn't even get the time to spend with my son, But now I am free and we will talk so much, my dear" she said in her loving voice caressing my cheek. I nodded my head painfully, tears started brimming in my eyes all of sudden seeing the happiness in her eyes. Slowly her smile faded away "What happened, my little warrior?" she asked frowning.

I can't do this, I can't take away her happiness.

But it is already gone when Uttara rejected me but mother doesn't know it yet, she will find out soon and I have to be the one to tell her. But I don't want mother to think ill about Uttara, it isn't her fault.

"Mother, Can I ask something from you?" I asked slowly, I can't let Uttara get the brunt of my family anger, even if she doesn't love me but I have felt something for her which I can't forget and that's why I have to do this. "Sure my little warrior, you can ask me anything" she said smiling. I am going to break her heart now. I took a deep breath as her hand now on my head. "I can't do this" I said to her, she furrowed her eyebrows in confusion still raking her hand in my hair. "I am unable to understand son, what you can't do?" she asked for more clarity. I sighed "I don't want to marry Princess Uttara" I stated without any hitch but internally my heart was breaking. Her hand stopped in its track and she looked at me flabbergasted "What are you saying son, why don't you want to marry her?" she questioned still in shock. I stood up from the seat, her hand slide down to her side as she still stared at me wide eyes.

"I don't want to marry this young, I have lots of responsibilities on my shoulders, our family has to go on a war, I don't think I can do this with a burden of wife on my back" I said blankly not looking at her because I know she can see truth in my eyes. I heard her standing up suddenly "Abhimanyu, what are you saying!" she said loudly coming towards me and pulling me to turn around to look at her. I quickly put an emotionless face. She looked like she is unable to understand anything right now, she looked in shock.

Please forgive me mother!

"Mother, I told you, I don't want to marry, please call it off" I said straightforward, my eyes started stinging again. She looked me straight in the eyes squeezing my shoulders. "You are saying that you want to run away from your responsibility, son of Arjun and Prakriti is afraid to marry because he can't take up the burden" she said sadness clouding her features. I winched at her words, I am not what she is saying, I never run away from my responsibility but right now I am lying to her because I don't want her to accuse even a little bit to Princess Uttara. I stared back in her eyes "I don't want to be tied up in a relationship where I can't focus" I said again, she took a short breath and her grip loosened away from me, she slowly moved back and with a thud she sat on the bed. I couldn't decipher her emotions as she stared at the ground.

"I don't know what you did to my little warrior because you are not him, he would have never said something like this" she said.

Finally a tear slide down my cheek, I quickly wiped it, I have to keep up the façade for her sake. "I am sorry but I am not the little kid anymore that you left behind" I said, she looked at me, her eyes shining up with tears "You are not" she said in broken voice, I want to go towards her and hug her, telling her all of my problems but I can't right now. After everything is over and sorted, maybe I will be able to tell her that her little warrior will always be same no matter what.

"I am going, call off the marriage" I said one last time and walked out of the room. I know she will handle the situation, she is general secretary of Chakravarty Samrat. I went back in my chamber "Let no one enter here" I said to the guards who quickly nodded their head. I want to be alone for a while. I went towards the balcony and looked at the clear sky which was soon turning in grey and little droplets started falling. I broke my mother's heart and I can see it in the nature. My own tears started falling down, I didn't stop them and stared at the drizzling.

Uttara P.O.V

Suddenly clear sky changed into grey and rain started falling, I looked at the sky in confusion. How can this happen, it was very shiny day today and all of a sudden, it is raining. But I am not stopping even if there is storm coming. "Princess, weather is getting bad, I suggest we should move back to Castle" Charioteer voice said from the front. I quickly shook my head "No, we have to reach outside city no matter what" I responded back and he nodded his head moving our chariot forward.

I was soaked when I reached the Pandavas city. "You can go back to Castle" I commanded to the chariot and without looking back I entered in the city. I have to find the Prince and then I have to talk to our elders about it and the wedding. I entered in their home, only guards were on sight. Now from where to start? I can't check all the chambers, it is rude and ill. I have to seek guidance from Lord Krishna, only he can help me in this. But until then it would be safe if no one sees me because I won't have their answer. By now Prince Abhimanyu would have told about us to everyone so I have to do this as soon as possible. I saw a servant passing by, I stopped her "Can you tell me where Lord Krishna's chamber is?" I asked her, she looked at my soaked attire in confusion but quickly nodded her head and directed me with the direction. I thanked her and walked in that direction, there was two chambers side by side, I looked at them in confusion.

Which one is Lord Krishna's chamber?

Suddenly I heard foot steps coming in this direction. I quickly made a decision and walked towards a chamber to go in but guards stopped my path. "Who are you, miss?" One of them asked in his gruff voice. This must be Dwarkadheesh chamber because of the security, "I am Princess Uttara" I stated, Lord Krishna knows about my dilemma, he will surely help me. Guard nodded his head before letting me enter in the chamber. I sighed and moved inside.

Finally!

But there was no one insight. Where is Lord Krishna? I need his advice and reassurance right now but he is nowhere in here.

"What are you doing here?" some one said from the other side of the room. He was standing in the darkness so I couldn't see his face. "I am here to meet Lord Krishna" I stated moving a little back as he moved forward "You are in wrong chamber Princess" he said in husky voice. My eyes widened and I slowly started to move back. Suddenly I stopped in my track as he fully moved out of darkness and stand in front of me.

"It is you" I whispered in surprise.
