A boy sat on the tree bench, his red jacket slung carelessly over his shoulders and his red hair shagging over his ears. He smiles down at the two red kissing in the nurses office.

"Messing with time again?" a female voice asks. He turns and smiles at the girl. She has on a red tank top with loose black shorts and a red sash around her waist. She pushes away some loose bangs and sits next to the boy.

"You should thank me, I just saved your butt," he brags. The girl rolls her magenta eyes.

"Whatever," she sighs. They sit in silence for a moment and she turns to him. "You did good bro, you did good."

"Pfft. Don't i always?" he asks. She narrows her eyes and jabs a finger at him.

"Don't push it," she stresses on the syllables. He swallows and nods. The two look back at the reds and smile.

That was where their lives started, but that's a different story.
