Marshel was running from the swarm of monsters through the woods near Mt. Ebott. He could hear them destroying everything, looking for another human soul to devour in their quest to destroy every human on Earth.

Marshel was a young dark boy at the age of 12. He wore a white T shirt with blue jeans and the necklace his mother gave him when she died from the monster king. He had dark green eyes and black hair, and had the Determination soul.

The monsters wanted Marshel because he was part of the rebellion that wanted to stop monsters from killing humans and taking their souls. Every time someone's soul was stolen, the weaker monsters like Froggit and Vulkin were fed the Determination leaking from it. Which got them addicted and they started going on killing sprees.

Marshel kept running from the monster swarm that was chasing him, his breath started to get ragged and torn from running so much. Until finally he stopped when he found a giant hole that had a patch of flowers at the bottom. He stopped and turned around to find Undyne, leader of the royal guard and fused with the justice soul. She had lost her eyepatch and had 2 glowing yellow eyes. Her spears were yellow with spikes along the top like a swordfish. And there was a tattoo of an upside-down yellow monster soul on her right arm. To her right came out a beat-up monster with no arms and sharp fangs on a leash.

He growled and tried to jump at Marshel, but the leash kept him in place. Marshel could here the horde of monsters getting closer, so Marshel had to try and convince her that she was wrong fast. "Undyne, think about what your doing." Marshel said. "Is killing all humans a good idea? What if Asgore is wrong about there being peace afterwards?"

Undyne laughed and the monster lunged again. "You think I care that it's wrong? I love to kill these people." She spat,"but unfortunately, Asgore told me to bring you alive, because your special or something." Marshel turned around looking for a way out of the situation, And found only one.

"Well, Undyne, I'd love to stay and chat, but unfortunately I've got to go see someone." He started to fall backwards into the hole, Undyne roared and sent the monster after him. The monster snarled and jumped on Marshel right as he fell. He kept biting and kicking Marshel, but Marshel held him back and turned the monster under him so he landed on it.

The monster managed to get around Marshel and bite his arm. Marshel cried out in pain and punched the monster in the face. Toppling it down faster towards the patch of yellow flowers. But right before either of them hit the ground, vines snatched them out of the air and flung them at the cave wall. Marshel's breath was knocked from him and the other monster was knocked out cold.

"What the hell was that?" He said, wiping the blood from his mouth. He was tied up again by the vines and a tiny flower came in his face, who looked pissed. "Who sent you? Was it Asgore? Or the Monster Destruction Force?" It said with a high pitched voice. "Pff, neither." Marshel laughed. "A certain rebellion sent me, I was to find 2 skeleton brothers who fused with the souls of Kindness and Bravery." The flower starred at Marshel and snarled,"Why should I trust you?" "Why would a minion of Asgore try to kill me? And you'd be dead if I hated monsters."

The flower snorted, "I guess your right." He dropped Marshel, "Name's Flowey, Flowey the Flower." Marshel nodded, "I'm Marshel" he said. "If your here for Sans and Papyrus, they're in Snowdin town. I can take you to them, but you'll have to go through the ruins." Flowey said roughly. "Toriel's been in there for years, trying to find a cure to this Determination addiction." "C'mon let's go." Marshel turned to leave but stopped. He went back and picked up the monster. Flowey turned and shouted, "what's taking so lo-." He stuttered when he saw the creature on Marshel's shoulder "Monster Kid?," he whispered.
