Grace's POV

"Grace! Can you message Anna to ask what time her mum will be coming round to look after May?" My mum shouts at me, trying to keep her voice down so that she doesn't wake up sleeping May.

After Anna and her mum went back, my parents showed up. I managed to convince my mum that May should stay at home after her fainting accident at school. That was my first hurdle. Thankfully, it didn't take long for her to also agree to Anna's mum looking after her.

"I will. Just relax. I'm sure May will be fine today." I try and calm her down but she just gives me that look of 'Mums know best'.

I reach out for my phone and start to message Anna:

What time will your mum be round? - Grace

She messages back quite quickly.

How about I meet you at your house so that when you leave, my mum can arrive? - Anna

Great idea. See you then - Grace

"Mum! Anna's mum will come round when I leave! I'm meeting with Anna here today!" I shout to where ever she is. The door swings open and my dad enters with sheets of papers. He hasn't seemed to have noticed I am here so I make myself present. "Hey, dad. What have you got there?"

His head snaps up and he hides the papers behind his back when he sees me. I can tell that he's trying to think of excuses to cover the fact that he is clearly hiding his work papers. "Oh, Grace! Didn't see you there!"

He tries to take my mind somewhere else but I push forward. "The papers? Anything to do with Peter?" I ask.

"Oh no no no! Just work malarkey. I have so much I have to do these days, I never stop!" He smiles and I return with one back. "Tie! Got to get the tie!" He places the sheets on the table and then runs out the room.

Now is my time to strike. I take one of the sheets from of the pile and start to read it. It's in a column form with names on one side, age in the middle and then the powers on the other. I scan through all the names and then the powers, wondering what new powers have come up.

Protect, Wall-crawling and death vision seemed to be the most interesting ones out of the lot. When I hear footsteps come down the stairs, I place the paper back on the stack and I go back to scrolling through my endless notifications on my phone like nothing happened.

Dad enters back through the room giving me a look. He then turns his attention to the pile. "Did you read it?" He asks me in a serious voice and I shake my head, with my fingers crossed behind me.

"Never! Who would want to read your work anyway?" I lie and he seems to approve my answer before walking out the door with his stack of papers. I relax and then the doorbell goes off.

I slide myself out of the chair that I was sitting on and leave the room. I make my way towards the front door and open it. "You ready for another exciting day of school?!" She says in a sarcastic way.

Her mum stands behind her, holding a contraption I recognise. "Is that the power tester?" I question.

"Yes. Might as well use it while I have her alone. You girls better get to school!" Anna's mum says and I nod my head.

"Bye! I'm off! Anna's mum has arrived as well!" I shout up the stairs and we leave, allowing Anna's mum into the house.

May's POV ( The rest of this chapter will be in May's POV )

"Morning May! How did you sleep?" Anna's mum asks me as I walk down the stairs. I smile and take a seat on the sofa.

"Hmm. No nightmares so that's good. But he'll find a way to come back. He always does." I mumble, feeling worried for the next time I sleep.

"I can, if you want, give you a special medicine that restricts people from entering your dreams? I have done that once without you knowing but I feel more comfortable when you know that you're taking it."

I think for a moment, deciding whether I should or not. If I carry on having those dreams, then I would be able to get information on L but if I don't....... "I'll think about it," I say.

"It's your decision. If you're thinking if you should or should not based on getting information on L, you can still get information when you faint. If he still makes you have dreams while you faint that is." She tells me.

"Ok, I will. I don't want to see his face more than I already do." I say in a scared voice. I think of him, his glaring face. It causes me to shiver.

"Is there anything you need to do with me? To see more into my 'condition'?" I ask and Anna's mum pulls something from beside her onto her lap.

"You read my mind May! This is a machine that is disguised as a book to find out people's powers." She tells me. I look at it with worry.

"This will be able to say if I have powers or not?" I ask.

"Yes, but it'll also tell you what kind of power you have. Maybe we will be able to find out what L wants with you. You can do it another time or not at all. It's up to you."

"What if I don't?" I question.

"Well, it doesn't really matter if you do or don't. It will just take longer to find out what power you have. Everyone who has had powers has done this test once in their lives."

Anna's mum opens the book and a list shows up. She turns the book to face me and I start to read them.

"These are all the possible powers that you can get. Many are coming and going all the time. A power shows up when someone dies with that power." As she saying this, Magnification appears at the bottom and I gasp.

"I'm ready. What do I have to do?" I ask and Anna's mums smile at my decision.

"Ok. What we need to do is, hold each other's hand and close our eyes. I will say a few things and you will enter this world where you will see a wheel of possible powers for you to have. It will stop on a power and that will be yours. Sometimes it's not always clear but it gives us an idea."

She explains and I reach my hand out for her to take. She takes it and I close my eyes. "Hinya mana cantan wha May Edwards windu." She says and I am no longer able to open my eyes.

A wheel comes in front of me with many different powers on it. "What do I do?" I ask.

"You need to spin it. Try and remember anything about what it lands on." She tells me and I reach out my arms to spin it.

It starts to spin around, getting slower and slower by the second. I try and focus on what is going to stop in front of me. "It should be stopping in a second." Anna's mum says and it suddenly reduces pace.

It stops and there's a symbol on the wheel. I try and memorise it and then it suddenly disappears and I open my eyes. Anna's mum sighs in relief when she sees me open my eyes.

"Good thing you didn't respond like your sister did!" She laughs and then looks like she regrets what she said.

"Grace......she has powers?" I ask.

"Uh....I think that's something you should discuss with your sister. What was the symbol like? Are you any good at drawing?" She asks, holding out a pen and pad. I take it and try and draw what I saw.

Once I finish my masterpiece, I turn the pad over to her and she studies it. "Hmmm.....interesting." She says and then put the pad into her pocket. " I will look more into that and I will let you know what it means when I know."

"Thank you. Am I free to go now?" I ask.

"Yes sure. Come down at 2 though, so that we can see if you faint again." She tells me and I nod my head.

"See ya!"

Hello, my baby little fireballs! I have finished the chapter!

This chapter was mostly in May's POV! And can you guys guess what power she has?? As per usual, I didn't write as much as I was supposed to but I wrote around 1500 words so I wrote more than I usual do!

This weekend I have the Monday off as well so I'm going to try and do more things for writing! Maybe plan Miraculous Hedgila??

Well, I'll see you in two weeks for another chapter of Powers Colliding and in a week for a chapter of Vampire At Heart!
