you have no idea how bad it gets
PUSHING ALL THE contents that was on a table, off of it, Hope helped Deaton and Scott set young Derek down onto it, her body drenched from how bad it was storming outside.
Hope stepped back to let Deaton check out what was going on. She watched as his expression went from confusion to wide in disbelief and worry. "Deaton?" She asked, rubbing her hands together. "Have you seen something like this before?"
"I think you're overestimating me, Hope," Deaton told her with a grimace. She tilted her head and rose an eyebrow.
"He's cold," Lydia stated and Hope looked over to see her holding Derek's hand. "Really cold."
Hope frowned before looking up at Deaton. "Do you think this is permanent?"
Deaton looked at her and sighed. "I'm not sure a medical diagnosis is even adequate. This is well beyond my experience."
"So, what do we do with him?" Stiles questioned, placing his hand on the lower part of Hope's back, trying to show her some comfort.
Even though Derek was a huge dick towards the start of things, he had really grown on Hope. He was there whenever she lost control of her powers, and helped her focus back onto reality when she triggered her werewolf curse rather than whatever was going through her head. If it wasn't for him, Hops probably would've blown up the whole town already because of one of her outbursts.
"Until he wakes up, probably not much," Deaton answered Stiles's question. "It might be best to leave him with me. He'll be safe here."
"You mean from Kate?" Hope asked but already knew the answer. She clenched her hands into fists as she thought about the bitch who burned Derek's family alive. "If she's actually, one hundred percent alive and she is what Scott says she is, whatever she needs Derek for is not good." She ran a hand through my blonde hair, frowning down at young Derek's unconscious body.
"You guys should probably go home," Deaton spoke up which made Hope turn to look at him. "He doesn't look to be in any danger. So maybe the rest of you should get some sleep? It is a school night... And you all need to start taking care of your own lives again."
Hope went to protest, but Scott spoke up before she could utter a word. "Someone should stay with you."
"I'll stay." They all turned to Lydia. "My grades are fine... Despite missing a few classes," she told them, more specifically, Hope.
"Be careful," The blonde told her after a hesitant silence, giving her a small smile, and the strawberry blonde nodded at her. "Call me if anything happens." Lydia nodded once again and Hope took that as her cue to leave.
Scott had already went outside with Kira trailing behind him, leaving Stiles and Hope behind.
Before Stiles could jump into his jeep, Hope called out to him, picking up her pace to catch up to him. He turned to her expectantly, his eyes wide. "Would your dad mind if I stayed the night?" She asked him, biting down on her bottom lip as she looked up at him with wide blue eyes.
"Is it because of your dad?" He questioned, sighing when he saw her face. "No, I don't think my dad would mind if you spent the night, I think he would actually understand why you're staying, though, he would tell you that you need to face your dad soon."
After finding out that her dad - Rafael - was back in town wanting to mend what he had broken, Hope has been wanting to stay as far away as she possibly could.
He left them. He had left their mom to fend for two children all on her own. He had left two children to grow up without their father.
Isn't a father suppose to be a girls first love?
But, for Hope, that wasn't true. Her first love was her mother. Melissa was always there for her no matter what. She was there the moment Hope was left on her front porch all the way leading up to now.
Sighing, Hope came out of her thoughts when Stiles wrapped his arms around her, pulling her in for a hug. She buried her head into his chest and wrapped her arms around his waist, relishing in the feeling of being in his arms. He made her feel as though she was at home.
"Hope," a distant voice called her name making her jerk away from Stiles. She looked around them with wide eyes, her heart beat accelerating.
"Cas?" She asked out loud, her voice wavering at the thought of her angelic best friend.
"Hope."
Hope yelped as the image of Cas' face popped right out in front of her. She jerked back so far that she ended up slipping on her own feet. Stiles reached out to stop her from falling which resulted in the both of them tumbling to the ground.
"Ow," Hope groaned, rubbing her head which Stiles had hit with his. "Stupid flippin' wet concrete," She complained under her breath before widening her eyes, looking around them, again. But nothing was there.
"Hope, are you okay?"
The blonde tribrid turned to Stiles who stared at her in concern. She numbly nodded her head as she continued to look around at their surroundings. "I thought I saw something..." She trailed off, her eyes narrowing at something in the woods before she was interrupted by her phone's shrill ring.
"Hello?" She tentatively answered as soon as she held her phone up to her ear.
"Hope!" Dean's voice filled her ears which made her smile. "You will not believe--"
"Let me--"
"No--"
"Give m--"
"He--"
"Hey, Hope, this is Sam," Sam's voice came through the phone and the blonde giggled as she realized that they literally had just fought over the phone to talk to her. "You will not believe who just showed up at our motel room."
"I was gonna tell her!" Dean's shouting voice came through, making her laugh out loud.
"Guys!" She shouted, shaking herbhead. "You guys act so much like children," She said, giggling. "What's going on? Something good must've happened if you guys are acting like this."
"Cas is alive!" They both shouted which made her cringe, her ear ringing, but she ignored the ringing as she realized what they had just said.
"What?" Hope whispered, her eyes wide as she recalled what just happened before Dean called.
"Cas is alive!"
"What?!" Her hand flung out, almost slapping Stiles in the face who quickly ducked, flailing as he almost fell face first.
"Okay, I am so not gonna say it a third time, kid," Dean grumbled, his happy mood disappeared. "What's wrong? You don't sound happy that he is alive."
"I am, it's just that..." The blonde tribrid trailed off before she realized that if she said anything, they would stop whatever they were doing and come to Beacon Hills. "I'm shocked. I thought we would never see him again." That was partly the truth, so good enough.
"Yeah, whatever," he grumbled.
"Assbutt," She grumbled and heard a laugh through the phone.
"You sure are right about that, kiddo," Sam's voice came through which made her smile in relief to hear someone that wasn't a mister grumpy gills. "How are you? We called your mother and she said that you were out camping with your friends."
"Yeah, I did," Hope told him, not completely lying. I mean, They did camp out a couple days ago, but what he was referring to was the past couple of days in which they were actually in Mexico trying to save Derek. "It was fun. We had a lot of Smores and hotdogs to last a lifetime."
"I bet." He chuckled but then cleared his throat. "I should let you go get some sleep because we both know that you have school tomorrow."
"Yeah, okay, well, I'll talk to you whenever. Bye, Sammy." Hope hung up the phone, placing it in her pocket before she turned to Stiles who looked at her with expectant eyes. "That was Dean and Sam calling to tell me that Cas is alive."
"Oh, wow," he mumbled before he furrowed his eyebrows. "Wait, I didn't even know that he was dead or whatever. You only mentioned that Bobby--"
"Yeah, I know," Hope interrupted him before he could say the dreaded sentence out loud. The blonde knew that Bobby died but it still hurts when hearing it come out of someone's mouth, because it just made it that much more real. "Technically, Cas didn't die, but we all thought he wouldn't be able to make it back to this reality," She explained before sighing, running a hand over her face. "I'll explain later, right now, I'm exhausted and need some actual sleep."
"Yeah, yeah, come on." He flailed, helping her into the jeep and even closed the door for her before he jumped into the drivers seat. He glanced over at her before taking her hand in his, sending her a small smile. "You know I'll always be here for you, right? No matter what happens, I will be here for you."
Hope couldn't help the smile that spread across her face as she looked at the boy she had a crush on. She tilted her head before she squeezed his hand, watching as his cheeks heated up. "I know, Stiles." She bit her lip as she looked into his whisky colored eyes that always seemed to hypnotize her everytime she stared into them. "I will always be here for you, too."
"I know." He smiled widely before starting the jeep. It took a few seconds for the jeep to actually start to work but Hope didn't mind because that meant more time with Stiles.
RUNNING INTO THE Sheriffs station, they slid to a stop once they saw Papa Stilinski looking at young Derek with narrowed eyes.
He turned to them and ushered them into his office which they quickly obliged to, knowing that they were about to get yelled out.
He closed the door behind him and turned to face the group before he started whisper shouting. "I want you to be honest with me. Absolutely and completely honest. Have you been time traveling?"
"Done that once, never again," Hope stated which made all male eyes turn to her in shock. Her blue eyes widened as she realized she said it out loud. "Uh, nevermind, continue..."
Papa Stilinski continued to look at her. though. "If time traveling is real, you know what? I'm done. I'm out. You're going to be driving me to Eichen House."
"We found him like that," Scott defended ourselves, giving him a sheepish smile.
"Where?" Papa Stilinski questioned with wide eyes. "Swimming in the fountain of youth?"
"No," Stiles stated. "We found him buried in a tomb of wolfsbane in an Aztec temple in Mexico underneath a church in the middle of a town that was destroyed by an earthquake."
"Stiles!" Hope shouted and slapped him upside the head before groaning into her hand.
"You told me you were camping!" Papa Stilinski bellowed which made them all shrink back.
"Yeah, we were... In Mexico," Answered Stiles who gave his father a weak smile.
"Derek's been aged backwards," Hope stated, getting back to the point. "He can't remember anything. We just need to talk to him."
"Yeah, well, so far he's not talking to anybody," Papa Stilinski stated, sighing.
Scott stepped forward, determined. "He'll talk to me."
AFTER GETTING YOUNG Derek to talk, Scott went off to talk to Peter with Malia, and Stiles and Hope went to her house with young Derek which resulted in them running into her dad.
He had asked them where they were and why he hasn't seen her since he got here. He had expected an answer but she didn't give him one. Instead, She pushed past him with Stiles' and young Derek's wrists in her hands.
They all ended up in Scott's room while her dad was downstairs.
The awkward silence had ended when Stiles' phone rung and he went downstairs to answer it. The next thing Hope knew, she was being knocked out while watching Kate escape with young Derek.
NOW, THEY WERE all at the school because that is where they tracked Kate to. Apparently, she didn't have control so she wanted the triskele which seems to have helped many uncontrolled betas in the past.
"Run!"
Hope turned to Peter who was running up the stairs, Malia and Scott following shortly after. She furrowed her eyebrows before following after them, her pace matching theirs.
When she got to where they were, they were being cornered by two bone like creatures, and Malia was hurt.
"No!" Hope shouted, throwing out her hands, yelling out an incantation before throwing the bone like creatures away from them. "No one hurts my friends!" The wind picked up and leaves went flying everywhere.
Young Derek came barreling around the corner, fighting off the bone like creatures as Hope ran towards Scott, Malia, and Kira who had decided to join in on the fight.
"Are you guys okay?" Hope asked as they turned to watch Derek who was starting to transform into his older self as he fought against the bone creatures.
Soon, he roared loudly, fully transformed into his older self and the bone creatures ran off.
"Derek?" The tribrid asked, worriedly.
He slowly turned around, his head tilted down. He hesitantly rose his head and flashed his eyes.
Hope gasped and held a hand to her mouth as his eyes flashed yellow instead of blue.
Something was very wrong with Derek and Hope was gonna get to the bottom of it, and fix it.
