"Hey dawg," I say walking into Layne's empty hospital room.
I had left to take a shower and get something to eat.
"Hey dude." Layne responded, his voice sounding kind of raspy like he's been screaming. Maybe that was it because I heard him screaming like a girl earlier.
I walked over and gave him his ring in which he put back on his finger.
"Where did everyone go?" I asked.
"Jane and my mom kind of went at it, but you already know that... So she left, and my mom, dad, and Red went to get some food. My mom probably thinks I dumped Jane or something and she asked someone to beat me up or whatever."
"Why would she think that?" I ask trying to hold back a laugh. "I mean, your mom can think of some weird things, but why would she think Jane was your girlfriend any ways?"
Layne just shrugs.
"So how you feeling... Human Torch?" I giggle making fun of him.
"Ha-Ha very funny but I actually feel pretty good," He said looking at Pyra.
"Wait dude do you hear that ?" Layne asked with a strange look on his face.
It sounded like someone stepping on a bunch of sticks.
I kind of step back, "Ewww that sounds weird."
"Well at least you don't feel it," Layne said wincing. It was his ribs healing back together again, that was so dope, but hearing it made me want to throw up.
"How are we going to keep this a secret?" Layne whispers to me.
Then the doctor comes in, "Okay Layne you're all good to go."
"B-But you said I had a couple broken ribs?!"
"Nope you're perfectly fine."
Layne and I look back and forth at each other in confusion.
Layne sits up. "Then why am I in the Hospital?"
The doctor didn't respond she just walked away like she didn't hear him.
"What was that all about?" I ask.
"I-I don't know," Layne responded.
I just stand there for a second then I break the awkward silence. "Um, I'm just going to head home now I'll see you later, alright?"
"Yeah, ok that's fine I should probably pack up my stuff and head home too."
We fist bumped and then I walked off.
I went down the hall and into the elevator. When I got inside I pushed the button for the first floor, but when I pushed it something different happened my thumb started to merge into it, it kind of looked like little blue lighting balls and pixels, and they were tiny!
I immediately pulled away kind of startled while shaking my hand and stuffing it in my pocket.
I waited for the doors to open and when they did I jumped out eager to get out and away from the elevator.
I had to walk home. It's probably about a twenty-five to thirty minute walk from the hospital to my house but I didn't mind it wasn't that bad, and it was a nice night anyways.
I was just about half way, going down a dark street, it was lonely no house lights on, or cars going up and down the street just the street lights and a cat I spotted.
Then something weird started to happen to my body, like I was starting to float. When I look down at my hands and feet they look like they were turning into the little blue lightning pixels again, like my body was pure electricity, and before I knew it I was inside the telephone pole wires.
I could still see everything around me. I still felt normal but with a little boost. Kind of like a giant adrenaline rush.
When I forced myself to run threw the wires I was going fast and I didn't know how to stop, but I can still guide my body on which way to go. It was almost like swimming under water without using your hands, except I don't use my feet or legs to keep pushing me on.
I was coming up on my street soon and I knew I didn't have much time before I was going to pass my house so I had to figure out how to stop.
I try telling my body to stop, but it wasn't working, I past my house and I knew I had to figure this out some how and quick!
I finally stopped kind of far from my house at least a five minute walk back. It was hard stopping, it was like trying to stop yourself from falling when you go skydiving.
I floated back down my body forming back to normal. "Cool," I say out loud. I then reach for my phone in my pocket I was going to call and tell Layne all about it.
But when I reached for my phone and start to pull my hands out and I felt something weird in my pocket, I had melted my phone!

I run home and slip around back to wash my hands with the hose quietly, and then I throw my pants away, stuffing them to the bottom of the trashcan so no one will find them.
When I creep open the door no one was up, my parents were asleep still.
I called Layne to tell him about what had happened on my house phone, he talked for a second, but he hung up on me before I could even tell him what I learned to do.
"Whatever," I whisper to myself, then I bolt up to my room and throw on a pair of basketball shorts and climb in bed, after all I was still grounded.
