LAYNES P.O.V.

I wake up to a cold chill up my spine.

I was lying down on cold dark gray cement, and when I dusted myself off and looked oddly to my surroundings, I didn't expect to be in jail.

But when I looked closer, the bars looked a little rusted and the ones that were painted were badly chipped.

I heard a moan in back of me.

I turn around and at the same time summoning Pyra. My hands blaze into flames, but when I saw who it was, she looked at my hands, then she slumped backwards hitting her head on a hard torn up stinky feet bed.

"Oops," I lightly chuckle and tell Pyra to leave one of my hands a flame for light as I run over to Jane's side, her whole shirt was covered in old and new blood, I almost threw up a couple times but I forced myself not to.

Then after a couple minutes I took my left hand and slightly smacked her cheek.

Jane's eyes immediately opened in shock, then out of nowhere one of her hands forms a fist, landing it on my nose.

"Aaaahh what the heck!" I yelled waving my hands up in front of my face protectively.

"Oh Sorry!" she holds my nose in her delicate glassed gloved hand. "I think I broke it."

I look up at her raising an eyebrow, "You think?"

But I was too soon to say more when she suddenly forced my nose back to where it belonged, my nose made a loud cracking noise.

"Aaaahh WATCH IT!" I yell again still waving my hands and pulling back, but when I felt my nose again, it started to feel hard a numb, a drop of blood rolled onto my lips from my nose but it didn't bleed any further. I wiped the blood with my leather coat sleeve.

"Fixed it?" She grins.

"You know... you could have waited till Pyra healed it first."

Her eyes open wide, "Your ring can do that?!"

I nod with an expressionless face.

She smiles again. "Cool!"

"Yep," I agree nodding my head again.

"HEY!" someone yells in back of us, I turn around, it was Berry.

He made a motion with his hands like he was splitting wood with an ax, the metal bars on the cell door started to make a CRRRRK! Sound then there were sounds of old clanking metal hitting the cement floor.

"Come on!" he yells louder.

Me and Jane both get back on our feet, but we don't walk out the door just yet.

"And why should we trust you," I cross my arms over my chest. I tried to sound bold but I knew it probably cracked.

He stopped in his tracks, his shoes squeaking on the floor.

"Because... because you need my help."

"HA! I don't think so," I shake my head.

"FINE! But we all have to work together to defeat the creator of the-" Berry never finished when something crashed out of a nearby wall next to him and landed on Berry.

"What in the world..." Berry staggered away as he pushed the body off of him, the something was a person, and the person was Kaleb. When Kaleb looked up at me, his face looked like it took a blood slide.

When Berry gets back up Kaleb says staggering back to his feet, "I think we should run."

But then the same wall he busted out of blew up and flung us out of the next wall behind us, since it was the last wall for the building every one fell down outside in the dark night somewhere, only the moon showing its own light

I quickly called on Pyra and my body burst a flame, keeping me from crashing to the ground like the others did.

I rushed towards the destroyed wall, I knew what was waiting there, it was Infinity and when I got there, he was holding my brother, John, in his meaty beast looking hands around his neck.

From the looks of John's body language, he was out cold.

"What did you do?!" I yell at him with determination in my voice, I was already sweating bullets.

"Nothing... yet!" he laughs, and then his hand starts to close tighter around John's neck and slowly John disappears in a flash before my eyes, turning into gold and dark tar black color dust.

I freeze in place; my face goes cold and starts to turn pale.

"What now Layne, the new commander of Pyra!" He cracks a big dark grin, and then lightning crack above them.

And before I knew it, and without concentrating on my powers, my body flames go out, and I fall towards the earth below me.
