I was sitting on my bed going through my new phone downloading apps and getting my contacts back.

My mom was furious about my old phone but she got me a new one because she didn't want me going around and not being able to get a hold of me. I put in Layne's number and put a picture of the Human Torch for his contact picture, I thought it'd be kind of cool.

My mom had come barging into my room and she was in her workout outfit and all stinky and sweaty, "Where's your phone!" she double screeched demanding. "I was trying to call and text you a million times, some hobo was following me by the school."

I felt my face as it began to heat up since there was a lot on my mind. I was sweating bullets from nervousness. "S-Sorry, It Uh-Uh is kinda... gone."

"Oh, stop stuttering like a broken record retard. I was lucky I had Rebel with me any ways. Now get into the stupid car, let's get you a new phone."

A few minutes later when I was done getting my things back I called Layne, it rang a few times before he picked up.

"Dude what happened last night you hung up on me?" I asked.

"Yeah my bad this weird kid with some big eyebrows named Berry with metal gloves-"

I cut him off, "...Wait metal gloves? Like Jane's glass ones?" I asked kind of weary about what he just said.

Layne's voice got quiet for a second, then, "Just like them but get this, he can make things out of metal with them."

"You mean like a Magneto from X-men can?" I asked

"Yeah but he's not that good," Layne laughed.

"Oh I see. He's the one who invented Transformers. Is it alright if I come over? I have a new trick I want to show you."

"No, it's almost like Avatar The Last Air Bender; you know how that one girl bends metal? Wait! A new trick what is it?!" Layne said kind of loud. Or at least it sounded like it.

"Yeah but I'm not gonna tell you, you've got to see it in person."

"When can you be here?" Layne asked

"I'll be there in like five minutes," I hung up putting my phone in my pocket.

Layne didn't live far from me less then a 10 minute walk but I knew with electric travel--that's what I was calling it--I could get there in at least 2/3 minutes.

I left a note on my door saying I went to Layne's house.

I walk over to my window, opened it and took off the screen. I stepped out onto our steep roof, and jump out toward the telephone wires pulsing my entire body. But it didn't work I suddenly started to fall face first into the grass.

I lay there for a few minutes but I get over the pain and push my body up spitting out the mouth full of grass I had left in my mouth. When I got fully back on my feet I look in the front window to make sure my mom didn't see, luckily she didn't.

My mom let off my punishment a bit she let me hang out with Layne but only on one condition, I had to rub her stinky feet for a whole week, sometimes they even smelled like stinky chicken, but I had to do what I had to do.

I walked off and tried again but it didn't work so I tried some other stuff to activate it. I tried just pulsing my hands but that didn't work and I should have known that but instead, a bolt of lightning shot out of my right hand right towards a cat's paw. The cat jumped probably about five feet high and its fur standing up all the way; when the cat hit the floor it took off running in the opposite direction yelping like I had tortured it with a butcher knife.

"Alright this is the last thing I'll try," I say to myself.

I began to sprint faster than I ever have before, but that's not what I was worried about. I then jump as high as I can and send a giant pulse throughout my whole entire body, and this time it worked, I was inside the telephone wires again, and I began going faster then I was before.

I hoped I wouldn't fry my new phone this time, I knew my mom wouldn't get me another one if I broke this one--melted it.

When I got to Layne's house I stopped and looked around to make sure no one was around to see me come out of the wires.

I had to wait for a bum that was walking down his street to pass but when he did, I jumped out of the wires. And when I hit the floor I stuck my hand in my pocket making sure my phone was still there. I pulled it out and this time it wasn't a pile of mush, it was perfectly fine. Maybe that's how Layne does it when he was flying; he was probably concentrating on his clothes so they wouldn't burn off.

I run over to Layne's house but before I could even knock on the door he opened it.

"That was quick," Layne said stepping out shutting the door behind him.

"Yeah that's because of my new ability."

"So are you gonna stand around or are you gonna show me...?" Layne said mouth full of pop tart.

"Yeah but let's go to a safe spot so no one can see."

"Alright just let me tell my mom I'm leaving."

We walked over to a near by store and went behind it to where no one could see us.

"Alright you ready for this?" I ask Layne.

"Oh I was born ready," he responded.

I jumped up and pulsed my body, I could feel my body changing and I was merging into the telephone wires.

Layne looked around in the air trying to find me. He looked more like an ant to me from here, but when I focused on him more, I could see his face clearly.

"That's cool in all but where did you go?" Layne looked up, down, and around.

"I'm right here!" I said chuckling to myself.

Then I maneuvered my body until I was in a wire right above him.

"No really Kaleb where are you?"

"I'm in the wires!" I yell.

"Dude, no way!" a huge smile came across Layne's face.

I jump out landing right next to him, and put my hands on my hips as the electricity slowly forms my body again.

"Cool isn't it?" I asked him.

"Dude that was so dope, what are you gonna call it?"

"I think I'm gonna go with electric travel."

"That's so cool. I wonder if I can travel in fire...?" Layne said wide eyed.

"You make no sense."

"Of course I do, if I concentrate hard enough, I might be able to send my body into a fire place or something."

"I doubt it buddy," I say plainly, but I wonder if that would be possible.

Layne looks at me and says, "We got to go show Jane, and I kind of got to apologize for how my mom acted towards her last night. She wasn't there when eyebrow boy showed up and killed that metal eagle."

"The what?!"

"Long story."

"Oh yeah I forget about that... Jane fighting with your mom I mean."

"Yeah but hopefully she's okay about it," Layne said.

"I doubt it."

He groaned, "Oh, shut up crack head!"

"Wouldn't want your girlfriend to be mad at yeah, would you Human Torch?" I laugh and hit his arm.

But he came back and punched me in the same place I did to him.

"You hit like a girl!" I said still laughing.

"Yeah whatever, let's just go to Jane's." he rolled his eyes and spun around.

"Alright," I said rubbing my arm. "A very strong girl," I say under my breath.

I jump pulsing my body merging into the wires once again and Layne runs and jumps into the air and yells, "PYRA!" And his body caught a flame.

Then we were off to Jane's.
