As I was walking away from Layne I could still hear him yelling about the rings, I just didn't feel like it anymore. I noticed that he put the ring on during school.

I walked in my house at 3:35pm. I have 1 dog, a boxer named, Rebel, she's still a puppy but pretty big for a year old. As soon as she saw me come through the door she bolted for me jumping and licking at me.

When I stopped petting Rebel, I noticed the TV was on, it was the news.

The lady on the screen was in front of a hole in the middle of a field, then I noticed it was the crater, "...Today earlier this morning this crater was made without badly shaking the earth, a farmer was driving his truck looking over his crops and found this, we usually would find fire but it looked like it had went out while it hit on impact, scientist' have already investigated the scene and figured it was man made..." the reporter went on and on, but one thing was for certain, the rock was man made.

I went up to my room, Rebel following behind me. I was almost pale, nobody had seen us 'thank God!', but it was still odd how someone would just make a crater for some stupid rings.

But I had to shrug it off and think about it later, I sat on my bed hoping my mom wouldn't call me, I didn't want to tell her about the fight. Or hopefully she didn't hear the news, I don't know why but I have a feeling she might ask questions since it did happen on the way to school and we always passed by that field.

I began to think about the ring and how it made me feel. Could the ring have made me want to fight back today? I thought to myself.

Whatever it was it felt different, something wasn't the same.

I reached into my backpack pulling out the ring and putting it back on my right hand, on the middle finger.

The weird thing was it fit perfectly, as if it was made just for me.

As soon as I put it on I felt the same adrenaline rush, it felt amazing. Like nothing I've ever felt before. Almost the whole incident about the crater left my mind, almost.

I remember I had to study my Greek words for the day. Layne got me into studying Greek and so far it's pretty cool. I was looking through it looking for how to say words since I just started the other day.

I saw a word that caught my eye it was, Astrapes, it means lighting/electricity in Greek, I looked down at my ring, cool I thought, I wonder what fire means in Greek so I can tell Layne, but when I said the word out loud.

"Astrapes."

Something different happened, a snap of electricity went up from my right hand disintegrating the paper from my hands.

I jumped back not knowing what happened.

"How did that happened?" talking to my dog as if she knew what I meant.

Rebel scratched behind her ears with her paw, and tilted her head at me as if saying, what?

I wanted to do it again but I didn't know how, I might be hallucinating for all I knew, I mean I did have the ring on and I felt weird every time I put it on, was there tiny needles filled with drugs? No, it can't be, who would put something like that in a meteor, fill it with drugs and send it down to a field to get someone high? But again, I shrugged the thought from my mind, and focused on the impossible that just happened.

I thought of what had happened when I said, Astrapes.

I picked up another piece of paper and repeated the word.

"Astrapes," I said out loud, I first heard a loud crack that pierced my ears, making them pop, then the same thing happened before, the paper disintegrated into cinders and crumpled into ashes.

I looked down at my hand, it was blue and bright as the sky, and it was unbelievable! It didn't even hurt me.

I aimed for my water bottle on my desk. Pointing with my finger, I started to concentrate until, the same crack made my ears pop, my arm didn't even pop back like a gun does when a cartridge is shot, just a huge line of snaking electricity shot from my hand and at my water bottle, the water exploded going everywhere over my room. Some had gotten on my dog and she whined, it probably stung her, she leaped off the ground and ran to her kennel by my bed.

I smirked to myself.

That's when I knew I had to call Layne and see if this stuff was happening to him too.
