Broken Arm (Kevike)

-Third Person POV-

"Mike, are you serious?! You can't just leave your trash on the floor!" Kevin scolds for the 5th time this week. Mike makes a mocking face and continues playing his video games. Kevin sighs and picks up the trash, walking next to Mike when he's done.
"Any particular reason you're in my room? I mean, other than to scold me." Mike says, eyes glued on the screen. "No, that was pretty much the sole purpose." Kevin says.

Mike pauses the game and looks at Kevin. "I mean, I'm flattered you care about me." Mike says, smirking at Kevin. Kevin rolls his eyes and says, "You're a Samurai Ranger. You need to start acting like it."
"Kevin, why do you hate me so much?" Mike asks, setting the controller down. Kevin is taken aback by the question and says, "I don't hate you. I just wish you'd stop some of your less than healthy habits."

"Could've fooled me. " Mike says. "Mike-" Kevin starts, but gets interrupted by the gap sensor. They exchanged a look before meeting up with the others.

-Mike's POV-

I knew from the moment I met him that I'd never have a chance with Kevin. Still, we became teammates, and we just got done fighting a Nighlock.
I wasn't going to say anything, but I think I broke my arm while fighting. I didn't want to look weak, especially not in front of Kevin.

"Mike, is everything alright?" Jayden asks once we get out of the Megazord. "Y-yeah." I say as we de-morph. "Lighten up, Mike! We just won a battle!" Emily says, playfully hitting my arm.
She just had to hit the bad one, didn't she?

It's worse than I cared to admit, because that simple action caused me to grab my arm and stop walking. "Mike?" She says in a worried way. That caused everyone to stop and look at me.
"I... I'm fine guys." I say, slowly taking my hand off my arm. Kevin frowns and walks over to me. I step back, knowing he wants to see my arm.

"Mike, stay still." he says. "What are you doing?!" I ask, even though I know the answer. "Will you just stay still and let me see your arm?!" he yells.

-Kevin's POV-

Mike reacted in a way that indicates he was in pain after Emily playfully hit him. Now he's backing away from me and bristling at me.
"Will you just stay still and let me see your arm?!" I say, getting impatient. Mike looks angry, but stands still. I sigh and gently grab his arm, making him jump and wince.

I look at it for a minute and then say, "Mike, your arm is broken. Why didn't you say anything?" He looks at me with a pained expression and says, "We... We were fighting..."
"Mike, if you get injured in battle, you tell your team so we can cover for you." Jayden says. "Sí. You don't keep that to yourself, Amigo." Antonio says.

"I didn't think it was a big deal." Mike says. "Not a big- Mike, your arm is broken!" I repeat, trying to emphasise the situation. "Yeah, I got that, Kev." he says with less spite than usual. I sigh and say, "Come on, let's get you back."

We walk back to the Shiba house and walk inside. "I'll go get Ji." Jayden says. I nod and walk Mike to his room. "Kevin, I'm fine. You don't have to stay here with me." Mike says, almost bashfully. "You're not fine, and I'm going to help fix that." I tell him.

-Mike's POV-

I'm not going to complain, but why does Kevin all of the sudden care so much about me?
Jayden comes into my room with Master Ji. Ji inspects my arm similarly to how Kevin did and says, "Mike, you need to tell your team when you're hurt."

"Yeah, I know. They told me." I say, deadpanning Kevin. "Ji, I'll take care of Mike. Make sure the others get food." Kevin says. Ji nods and exits my room, Jayden following after looking at me for a moment.

Once they're gone, Kevin huffs and draws a symbol, summoning a cloth. He wraps it around my arm and ties the cloth into a sling. The closeness was starting to embarrass me a bit, honestly.
"There. Now I'm serious, Mike, don't strain yourself." Kevin says after securing the knot.

"Okay..." I say, feeling embarrassingly bashful. Kevin frowns in a confused way and says, "You're being oddly obedient."
I couldn't think of what to say, so I just looked away. I wasn't expecting Kevin to talk again.

"You... You're blushing?" He says. With my good hand, I cover my blush and say, "No, I just... Got sunburned in battle."
"First of all, we wear helmets. Secondly, I'm pretty sure a sunburn doesn't just show up like that." Kevin says while smiling slightly.

-Kevin's POV-

Mike was definitely blushing, and it was admittedly adorable.

"Hey, Mike?" I ask. Mike looks at me so I continue, "This is... Probably a very bad idea, but..." I trail off. Mike tilts his head slightly. I sigh and just get to my point: I kiss him.
He gasps quietly but then kisses me back, using his free hand to hold onto me. We break apart a short while later, both panting slightly.

"Well, damn. And I thought I had no chance." Mike says, laughing a bit as he talked. "What? How long have you liked me, exactly?" I ask him. "How long ago did we all meet each other?" he asks me.
"Oh, about a year and a half ago. Why?" I answer. "Okay, then I've liked you for a year." Mike says.

"That's a long time; how did I not know?!" I say. Mike laughs and says, "Well, I was kinda hiding it from everyone."
"Yeah, I guess..." I say before hearing a knock on the door. "Kevin, Mike, dinner's ready!" Emily says through the door.

We both go eat and decide to stay quiet for a while about this.
