Chapter Twenty-One: Enter, Platinum Ranger
Out of breath and thinking about what he had gone through, Dean got back to the bunker in time to see that Tara and Katrina were helping the rangers and each other heal their wounds.
"I can't believe it," says Tara. "Another ranger, and gray for that manner," she continued. "There's no way that's possible,"
"Don't forget," says Sean who winced slightly as Tara tended to Sean's cut using alcohol. "He's on Lucifer's side,"
"What do you think that means?" asks Sam who was still shocked about everything that happened. Mark stayed by the front of the bunker and waited for Dean to come back, when he did Dean walked over to check on his friends and rangers.
"Is everyone all right?" questioned Dean.
"Yes," says Katrina, "We're fine just a few cuts and bruises that's all,"
"Good," says Dean as he walked to the kitchen. Mark saw that Dean was puzzled by something and was determined to figure it out. When Dean entered the kitchen and got himself a cup of coffee, Mark followed him in and saw that Dean was zoned out.
"Dean?" asks Mark. "Are you okay?"
"What?" says Dean snapping out of his thoughts. "Oh, yeah, I'm fine,"
"Are you sure? Because you seem puzzled by something,"
"It's nothing Mark," says Dean as he drinks from his coffee cup. "I just need some space,"
"But that ranger, we've never fought another ranger before," spoke Mark trying to get Dean to tell him something but it did not seem to work. "How is it that he has ring?"
"I don't know Mark," says Dean trying to get rid of Mark and his prying questions. "Look man," continued Dean. "I need my space; besides, I'm going to head to the grocery store, we're practically out of a lot of food here," without another word, Dean poured his glass out and grabbed his car keys. Dean didn't look back as he got into the car and drove to the nearest grocery store. Morgana stood on the top floor of an abandoned building as the gray ranger dimorphed and approached her.
"What do you want," says the gray ranger.
"Did all go according to plan?" questioned Morgana.
"Yes milady," says the gray ranger. "But I believe that we have a situation, Dean fought against me, he defended those people,"
"Don't remind me," says Morgana. "But does he know it's you?"
"I don't think so," he responds.
"Then I feel we should start the next phase of Lucifer's plan," she continued. "Go find Dean and if you can, figure out what part of that disgusting bunker he's hiding the colt,"
"Yes, Milady," says the gray ranger as he left the building and went to search for Dean. He hoped that Dean didn't recognize who he was or his moves because that would have blown his cover. He arrived at the grocery store and watched as Dean was making his way back to his car. Seeing his chance, he stood from a picnic table in which he was sitting at and walked over to Dean.
"Hello big brother," says the gray ranger catching Dean's attention as he looked over at who was talking.
"Sammy?" says a stunned Dean. "What? How are you alive?"
"How am I alive?" responds Sammy. "I could ask you the same question,"
"But it's been five years, where have you been?"
"You know, the usual, finding paranormal crap and saving innocent lives," he continued. "You know, the lives that we were raised to help protect?"
"But five years ago, you had,"
"No big brother," says Sammy. "I didn't die, if that's what you're going on about," Sammy Continued. "But I do need your help," Sammy pulled his hands out of his pockets and sat them on the roof of Dean's car. Dean felt something was off as he carefully glanced at Sammy's right hand and saw the lightning strike ring. Putting things together he knew exactly what was going on, he looked back at his brother's eyes and saw that they seemed to be glazed over.
"So, what are you doing here?" Asks Sammy.
"Oh, you know the same thing you've been doing, how about we go somewhere else private to talk?" questions Dean.
"Like the bunker?" responds Sammy. "Isn't that where you hid the colt?"
"Hop in Sammy," says Dean as he finished putting the rest of the groceries in the back seat. Reluctantly, Sammy complied and got into the passenger's seat. Seeing his chance, Dean drove Sammy to a forest where Sammy was trying to speak to Dean. He knew that Sammy was trying to get his hands on the colt and was determined to bring it to Lucifer. When they were in the middle of the forest, Sammy pretended to grow confused and looked at Dean with suspicion as he climbed out.
"Dean? Why are we here? I thought we were going to talk in the bunker,"
"You see we were," says Dean as he grabbed his gun that he had been working with for a while. "But I have other thoughts," Dean pointed the gun at his brother where Sammy was stepping back, and a smirk appeared on his face.
"Well, you figured it out," says Sammy.
"It wasn't easy, but I did, you're not yourself Sammy, Lucifer has done something to you, and I intend to figure it out,"
"Oh, and what are you going to do about it? Kill me?" says Sammy as he stepped back. "I can't believe how weak you've gotten over the years," he continued. "Now as usual you hired people to do this stuff for you,"
"It was clear that I couldn't do it alone, but the fact that my only brother who is being controlled by Lucifer," says Dean. "It gets personal,"
"You won't do it," says Sammy, when Dean lowered his weapon briefly it left Sammy an opening to kick the gun out of his hand. The gun flew into the air and landed a few feet from the entrance. Seeing his chance, Sammy attacked his brother as the engaged in a full-on battle knocking the other down or dodging their attacks. Dean dodged as much as he could and was starting to overpower his brother. However, Sammy stepped back and laughed.
"Really? This is the best you can do. How about we take it up a notch?" Sammy pointed the ring into the air as he transformed into the gray ranger letting out an evil laugh.
"Oh, full of surprises aren't we?" says Dean as he reached into his pocket and got his hands on a coin pulling it out he placed it on his right hand. "Well, two can play at that game," Dean tossed the coin into the air and quickly held his left wrist in front of him. The coin grew and fell onto his wrist transforming into a morpher.
"Lightning Strike, Ranger up!" yelled Dean as he held his wrist into the air. Lightning struck it as a platinum color appeared over Dean's body and a sash appeared across his chest with a small lightning symbol in the center. Dean reached up and grabbed his helmet and placed it on his head. "Lightning Strike, Platinum ranger!" exclaimed Dean as lightning flashed around him.
