Chapter Twenty-Five: The Mission
Tara bolted awake in the real world practically bumping her head with Sean's. Sean groaned as he rubbed his forehead and looked at Tara with a painful expression. Tara hadn't expected anyone to enter the room without someone knocking. Had she really fallen asleep? What had gone down while she was snoozing. Realization dawned on her as she was now beginning to wake up.
"Sean?! What are you doing in my room?!" she exclaimed.
"I came to check on you," says Sean stepping back startled by her outcry.
"Ever heard of knocking?" she questioned.
"Okay, okay, I'm sorry," responds Sean worried about where this was going to go, before she could say anything else a sudden thought occurred to her as she quickly got out of her bed and grabbed a paper from a sketchbook. "What are you doing?"
"Shh, shut up Sean," says Tara as she grabbed a pencil and started sketching on the paper. The image flickered into her mind as she continued to draw every inch of the design that she could remember, eventually, she completed it and gasped as she looked at Sean. "That's it,"
"What's it?" said Sean as Tara grabbed the sketch paper and raced downstairs with Sean following close behind. "Tara! Wait up!"
"I can't something occurred to me," says Tara as her bare feet slapped the wooden floor. She ran passed the rest of her friends as the watched Tara head over to Colby. "Colby," says Tara slamming the paper down making Colby jump and tear his eyes off the computer screen. "I know how we can find Dean and stop that mirror monster!"
"Whoa Tara, calm down," says Colby reassuringly. But the thought of finding Dean caught the rangers attention as they made their way over. Politely, Colby turned the paper and examined it ever so closely. The markings looked familiar and so did the glass, then it hit him like a rock as he realized what he was looking at. "This is the mirror of Destiny," spoke Colby nearly speechless. "It hasn't been seen since the first demon-hunter war," he continued as he looked at Tara. "How did you find out about this?" he questioned.
"I saw it in my dream," answers Tara as she began to explain what she saw to her friends, when she allowed the words to fall freely from her mouth; she felt that she could not stop herself from talking.
"What's the mirror of destiny?" asked Mark.
"Yeah, and how is it going to help us defeat this monster and save Dean?" questioned Sam. Colby picked the picture up and looked at it, he leaned against the wall as he started to go over what the mirror was and what it could do.
"I've only heard a little bit of the legend," he says. "But the story goes that the mirror of destiny is said to not only show you what your meant to be, it can show you the future and lead you to the place with the most magic," he continued. "Tara's right, we might be able to track Dean down with the mirror," Colby kept going. "I've tried everything to pinpoint his exact location, my guess is that Morgana and Azazel probably cloaked the place they're holding Dean prisoner,"
"That's great, but how do we get it?" questioned Katrina.
"Only the one who dreamnt about it can go get it," answers Colby. "Meaning, since Tara saw the mirror, she has to go on this quest alone,"
Lucifer watched as the rangers were talking about something that he couldn't understand. The glass ball was great to use as a watch glass, but it wasn't good for surround sound hearing. Though, he did see the drawing that Tara made. Something about that mirror seemed familiar to him and yet he couldn't put his finger on it. Suddenly a thought occurred to him as he figured out what the rangers were talking about. They're planning to go hunting for the mirror of destiny. He thought to himself. If they got their hands on that mirror, then the rangers could find a way to defeat him. Or worse, they could figure out every single move he planned to make. He watched as the pink ranger started to pack a bag with spare clothes and food, she was indeed planning to go after the mirror of destiny and with her going after it, that spelled trouble for Lucifer. Of course, if his henchmen could get their hands on the mirror then maybe he could find a way to defeat the power rangers.
"Azazel!" called Lucifer as he watched the glass ball. Azazel waltz in wondering what his king wanted.
"Yes sir?" he questioned.
"Send the mirror monster down, and when Tara goes after the mirror of destiny," says Lucifer. "I want you to send the gray ranger to follow her,"
"The mirror of destiny?" gasps Azazel in shock. "But I thought that was only a legend,"
"Well as you can see," responds Lucifer slightly annoyed. "The rangers figured out its exact location,"
"Yes sire," spoke Azazel. "I will make sure that mirror lands in your hands,"
"Good, your dismissed," with Azazel leaving that had left Lucifer the gray ranger and Morgana to do his bidding. "Oh, and one other thing,"
"Yes Sire?"
"If either of you mess up then you will regret it," terrified of what Lucifer was capable of, Azazel quickly left and made sure to help let Lucifer's plan fall into place. At the bunker, Tara had finished packing her bag when Colby knocked on the door.
"Come in," called Tara as Colby entered the room. "What's wrong Colby?"
"Nothing, I came to wish you good luck," he said. "But also," Colby handed Tara an old parchment that he had found locked away in storage. He knew that at some point the mirror of destiny was going to be discovered, it took long because the right person hadn't arrived yet. That is until Tara.
"What's this?" asked Tara.
"It's a map," answers Colby. "This map should help you find the mirror,"
"Thanks," says Tara as she placed the map in one of the side pockets of her backpack. Before Tara could say anything else the alarm went off making them run out of her room and to the front of the bunker. Sitting in front of the bunker, Colby began to search for the area of the disturbance when he found the monsters location. It was located in Griffith Park a place that he remembered going to with Sam.
"Where's the attack?" Asked Sam.
"Sam," says Colby. "Remember that park we went to for exploration?"
"Yeah?" responds Sam. "Griffith Park?"
"That's where the monster's attacking!" exclaims Colby, he quickly turned to the rangers who were standing by the computer with worried expressions.
"Okay," says Mark. "This is what we're going to do. Four of us will take on the monster while Tara goes after the mirror of destiny," The rangers nodded their heads as Sean, Katrina, Mark and Sam were teleported to Griffith park, morphed. They were unsure of where the monster was and yet they had a feeling that something was bound to happen.
"Where is he?" questioned Sean.
"Keep your eyes peeled," says Mark who was trying to figure out where the monster was located. He hoped that it was here at the park and not somewhere else in Los Angeles. But the park was too quiet, suddenly out of nowhere the rangers were struck with a beam that made them fall onto the ground.
"Missed me rangers?!" said the mirror monster with a hyena laughter.
"Not in this lifetime," says Katrina. "Silver bow!" she called on her bow as she jumped into the air and shot the monster with her weapon, the monster quickly opened its chest as the arrows deflected harmlessly off. "What?"
"There's no way that was able to bounce off harmlessly," Says Sam as he tried to attack the monster using his own weapon, but nothing seemed to work. The rangers continuously fought as hard as they could meanwhile back at the old run-down house, Dean had just been tortured but still he would not budge. Morgana had been trying everything to get him to talk but nothing seemed to work.
"Why do you stay silent Dean Winchester?" asks Morgana. "Don't you know the torture won't stop?"
"I will never tell you where I keep the colt lady so you can waltz back to Lucifer and tell him that I won't budge,"
"Dean," says Sam trying to use his brotherly tune in his voice. "You should listen to her; I mean what's the point of fighting?" Before they could go any further to talk, Azazel barged into the room making everyone turn their attention to the door.
"What do you want?" questioned Morgana in annoyance. "Don't you know what we have to do?"
"Yes, I do understand what we have to do," says Azazel. "But you should also know that Lucifer has requested Sammy to follow the pink ranger who is searching for the mirror of destiny," Deans attention immediately leapt to the mirror that Azazel was talking about, the only time that the mirror was said to be found is when it's most needed. It would also pick the person that would be required to go and retrieve it.
"The mirror of destiny?!" exclaims Morgana. "That mustn't happen," she turned toward Sammy who was still under Lucifer's control. "Sammy, go and follow the pink ranger and if she finds the mirror, destroy her and take it,"
"Yes, Milady," with that being said Sammy quickly left the house as Dean struggled against the chains.
"Don't worry," says Morgana. "I'm sure that no harm will come to your little friend," she said, laughing evilly.
