Chapter Fifty: Bookworm
Lucifer's continued attempts to defeat the rangers kept failing him, his henchmen did nothing but stand in his way and he couldn't take it anymore. He paced around the throne room deep in thought and trying his best to figure out the best way to lower their chances of defeating him. As he walked over to his ball, he moved his hand only to have something catch his eye. He looked at what seemed to be a novel and a person reading it when an idea struck him.
"Morgana!" he called out as she entered the throne room and bowed.
"Yes, my lord?" she asked. "How may I be of service?"
"I want you to use your magic and create a monster that can trap the rangers in different books," Answered Lucifer
"That's brilliant sir!" Morgana said. "What do you have in mind?"
"Look in the glass ball," he said, moving aside. Walking over to the ball, Morgana looked into it and saw the book that Lucifer was talking about. A smirk appeared on her face as she held her hands over the glass ball and concentrated on the book that was in the hands of an individual.
"Astige ðu wyrm fah ond geþéowe ðæt mod ðisse þeowes. Hine bind ond ða heold ond awendaþ he ealle,'' in the process of saying the spell, Morgana's eyes glowed a golden color. causing lightning to flow from the glass ball until it hit the book causing a young teenage girl to scream in fear. The girl dropped the book on the ground as a monster emerged from it, it was a hideous monster that looked like a large worm. The monster had glasses and was holding a book in his left hand. Laughing evilly, she looked at herself to see that she was physically there.
"Wow! This feels amazing!" yells the monster with a type of teacher voice. "Now I can finally send people into books I love!" the monster turned to see the teenage girl looking scared. The monster looked into the girls mind and picked out a few personality traits then started laughing. "I know exactly where to send you mortal!" holding the book to her chest the first thing that appeared was a cover that had the word Gone in the title. Opening the book, the young girl screamed as she was sucked into a world where children ran the world. Once she was done she slammed the book closed and looked at it. Lucifer laughed evilly congratulating Morgana for a job well done.
"Looks like you still have some of that Camelot magic left in you isn't that right Morgana?" Lucifer said with a smirk.
"It never left me," says Morgana as she turned her attention back to the monster. "Bookworm!" yells Morgana as the monster turned her attention away from the task to the sky where Morgana appeared.
"What are your commands master!" she called out to the witch.
"Your mission is to trap the rangers into different books and story lines, make sure that nothing escapes your grasp," Morgana explained. "Once all the rangers are trapped in the book worlds, you will need to break into the bunker and steal the colt," she continued. "The colt is well protected which is why you must deal with the rangers first!"
"Don't worry master! I won't fail you!"
"Good, make sure you don't!" waving her hand over the glass ball, Morgana hung up and turned toward Lucifer. "Don't worry sire, there's no way the rangers can escape from this problem,"
"Excellent," While the other rangers were off doing their own thing, Katrina and Tara were taking a walk in LA's park when they started to hear screams of terror. The girls looked at each other with a confused look on their face as they followed the source of the energy, the girls saw a monster that looked surprisingly like a giant worm. They shivered at the thought but pushed their disgust aside, summoning their guns they shot at the monster giving the citizens a chance to leave as fast as they could.
"Not so fast!" yells Katrina.
"What are you? Some sort of worm with a taste for knowledge?" exclaims Tara.
"Who dares disrupt my mission!" Bookworm looked over to see the two girls standing there with guns drawn. "Who do you think you are,"
"Why don't you wait and see?" twisting their rings the girls held it to the sky and shouted their morphing call. "Lightning Strike, Ranger up!" lightning struck their rings as they turned into the pink and silver rangers.
"Ah yes, you're the power rangers! But I would have thought there would be more of you!" says Bookworm. "doesn't matter because I've got special plans for you! Dark angels!" the dark angels rose from the ground making their normal noise, the dark angels ran at the two girls as they started attacking them. The girls fought back trying to defeat the dark angels so they could get to the monster.
"Guys!" yells Tara as she sent a distress call to the others "There's an attack at the park! We need assistance now!"
"We're on our way!" says Dean as the other men arrived just in time to help Kat and Tara. Unaware of the situation, Bookworm was about to attack the girls when the men arrived, striking at the monster, and destroying the dark angels. Once the foot soldiers were destroyed, all seven rangers stood next to each other with their weapons in their hands.
"Just where I need you rangers," says Bookworm. "You know the king has been very impatient," she continued. "He wants that colt and I'm afraid that with you rangers in the way, it's hard for them to get to it,"
"You see," says Mark. "That's the whole point, Lucifer won't get the colt not while we're around," he continued. "Thunder Mace!" yelled Mark as he ran at the monster and jumped into the air, as he was about to strike at Bookworm; she looked directly into Mark's mind until she pinpointed his personality. Strong, brave, a leader, and he never let anything get in his way.
"Time for you to go somewhere red ranger!" yells Bookworm as a book that eerily symbolized the fifth wave appeared in her hands. She opened the book as a vacuum-like vortex appeared, grabbing Mark by the ankles, and dragging him into the book until he was no longer visible and tossed it to the ground. "Enjoy an alien apocalypse Red ranger!" laughed Bookworm as the book shrunk to its regular size.
