Hello everybody! Before I begin with the rest of this chapter, I'd like to make a small announcement! I'm going to start a new thing with this book called the Theme of the Day. You'll see how it works in this chapter. So, without further ado... 

Theme of the Day ~ Kindness 

It is nice to be important, but it is even more important to be nice. 

When you do the right thing in being kind to others, it not only helps them, but it also helps you. When you help someone and make them feel better about themselves, it can make you feel better about yourself. It raises yourself esteem and can make you a better person. Being kind to others is important because it brings light into a world that is otherwise dark. You don't have to like someone to be nice to them. You may have heard the phrase 'Kill them with kindness'. It may not sound like a very useful method of what to do in certain situations, but it is. Even if you're fighting with someone and they are being mean to you, you shouldn't retaliate by being mean to them as well. It will make you just as bad as them. Treat them like it doesn't bother you, keep being nice to them. Fighting back in a mean way only feeds into what they are doing and will make them want to keep doing what they are doing. However, if you treat them kindly they will stop eventually. It may take some time but they will stop.

So remember to be kind because it works a whole lot better than being mean does.
