The assignment wasn't hard and Yoongi found himself back at Hoseok's office within no time. The assignment was simple, and he was sure it was only meant to mock him.
He barely even looked at the files before realising how Hoseok had clowned him.
So at 10:50 he was seated on a chair next to the front desk by Hoseok's office. Leg bouncing as he wondered how the man was going to react to him coming here.
More than an hour later Hoseok steps out of the elevator, mango smoothie with ice in hand as his cold ones land on Yoongi.
The shorter finds himself fidgeting with the papers but he's not nervous, he's annoyed and trying to redirect his annoyance anywhere but Hoseok.
"What are you doing here?" The CEO asks walking past him and again the lady at the desk signs him to follow the man.
"I finished the assignment, sir." No matter how hard he tries, he can't get the word sir to roll over his tongue easily when it comes it Hoseok. It feels wrong.
"Your point?" The man asks as they walk inside the office.
"I'm here to tell you the results." Yoongi says as Hoseok sighs and sits down to open his laptop.
"I thought I was very clear, kid."
Yoongi's hands twitch at the word, it's quite clear why the man is a CEO. He knows what to say, when to say it to get the reaction he wants.
"I gave you the assignment and told you to come back at the end of the day so we could discuss it with Mr Kim, wasn't I very clear about that?" Hoseok asks and Yoongi grits his teeth, the man is straight up belittling him. Talking to him as if he's a child.
"Yes but I finished now."
Hoseok scoffs. "Very well, you'll remain seated right there the rest of the day until Mr Kim is ready."
Yoongi slowly gets up. "No Mr. Jung."
Hoseok looks up from his laptop, a little surprised by the sudden refusal.
"I will not let myself be mocked by you. I'm an excellent intern, unfortunately no longer for this company." He says throwing the files down on the man's desk. "I quit."
Yet he remains standing, awaiting the CEO's response to his words. Only to be disappointed when the man merely sighs.
"Fine, I'll be honest." Hoseok's eyes find his and Yoongi feels a shiver run down his spine at the man's cold gaze.
"I don't like you, I dislike your attitude and you in general. For no obvious reasons but a mere feeling. Though I'm cold and known to be cruel, I'm not about to ruin your future by ensuring you'll never be hired in any company that isn't rivalling with mine. Which is within my power, so yes, you are fired." Hoseok says slowly raising to his feet, but Yoongi doesn't back down. He is no coward and will stand up for what he thinks is right.
So he leans forward, just a centimetre but he can see it annoys the man.
"But, I talked to my friend at Kim's Enterprises and they're willing to offer you an internship." Hoseok says and now Yoongi is a bit taken a back.
"I might be cold Yoongi, but I'm a fair player as long as you are."
Yoongi slowly nods his head. "Thank you?"
"Mr Kim will send you an email with the details. You start tomorrow and I'm sure you like your job over there much better." Mr Jung says and despite this being very sudden and maybe even a little odd Yoongi seems happy.
Kim Enterprises could be a good thing, him being the first ever intern and the only one might even help him get to know people that he could learn thing from.
"So Yoongi, what was your answer to my assignment."
"Simple you'd have to let me go, I'm the least efficient worker around here. All I do I get coffee and the companies laundry. Who knew business like these had laundry. Besides that, you probably assumed that I wouldn't include myself with the other interns but I did and while they're delivering results I'm delivering coffee." Yoongi says and Hoseok chuckles.
"Wrong, you're efficient. You don't receive the salary of a normal employee. So instead of waisting money on an actual employee, I use you."
Yoongi scoffs. "Incorrect, you knew I'd walk out. Any intern would walk out."
Hoseok scoffs. "They won't. They care about the name they work for not the job they do. You on the other hand want to learn something, which is why I will give you a shot at my friend's company." The man says as he goes to sit back down.
"I'm sure you'll learn way more at his company." He says, something about his tone seems off to Yoongi but he decides to ignore it.
"Thank you?" He says hesitantly, unsure what exactly is going on, but at least the man isn't mocking him anymore.
"Good luck Min Yoongi, and don't thank me yet I'm sure I'll see you rather sooner than later."
