Chapter 3: The Keeper

(David's point of view)
All I wanted was a normal school day, but instead a battle happened right over our village. Typical...
Class was about to start, so I sat down. But, before the teacher could even say good morning, the earth below us began to tremble. There was panic and confusion as everyone tried to leave. I left, racing to my house, but a magic bolt struck a few feet away from me. I tripped, and skinned my knee. At least it was just my knee, I thought. I got up and continued running to my house. Once I got there my stuff was already packed. Mom I immediately thought. I wonder where she is. I picked up the bag and ran outside to the taiga where my friends should be waiting. But, once again, a second bolt of magic sent me into a world of darkness.
No, I didn't kill them, don't worry.
I woke up seeing my friends faces full of worry, but another familiar face looked at me, only not with worry, with disdain. The Keeper, I realized. "Your friend is going to be fine, err what's your name?" "David" I say.
"We thought you died! You were in a coma for a week." Said Sidney. Good, it's still November. "Why is the Keeper here?" I ask. "She came to check on the town, since the battle." Jessica replied. "She will be leaving now." Said Kalen. The Keeper gave her a glare and left. "Good, she's gone, she was the one who set that battle up." "What?!" I said, confused. "Yes, she did it because she wanted to see who was the bravest. She is looking for an apprentice." "Wow, she is horrible." I said. "She also killed the guy from the dark side." They all looked at my astonished face and nodded. "Nothing we can do now expect wait." Christina said. Then we all nodded. "But first, we need to come up with a plan."

Hello guys! Hope you liked this chapter. It looks like the Keeper is very mysterious. And aren't you wondering what started the war? :3
