Chapter 12: The Night Before
(Roree's point of view)
I wish my friends would involve me in the plans they make. When I found out of this plan, I flipped.
I was pacing around my house, worrying about my friends since there was quite a few bolts of magic hitting the ground causing miniature earthquakes. When I heard the knock on the door, I ran over and looked out of a nearby window. My friends were standing outside with nervous faces. But Kalen looked more disdain and serious. Then I realized there was another person with them, but I didn't know who they were. "Roree, we have something to explain." Jessica said, looking very tense and scared as she spoke. "Explain what exactly?" I said, knowing nothing of what she about to say. I just said it very forcefully to get the answer directly. "Oh um....Well you see we made a plan to maybe run away?" Her face turned pale with my reaction. "Are you all insane?! Why would we leave?! What could possibly be so important that it has to force us to abandon our homes and become fugitives?!" I screamed, not caring of her tears streaming down her face. This is what I hated after all. Stupid plans that I'm never involved in. "W-we w-were just t-trying to h-help a f-friend." She said, shivering with fear. That made me less angry, but only a little. "Alright, what is the plan?"
"I can't believe I'm doing this." I growled. It was such a stupid plan in my opinion. As we packed up, and noticed a bunch of light. That's not daylight, it's dark out, I thought, my body tensing up. As I looked outside the window, I saw a whole army of light casters surrounding the village. They know, and now they're going to keep us in the village until they find the one who can use shadow magic. "Where's Christina when you need her." Said Sidney while she looked outside. "Hello?! You have a magic person right here." I snapped at her. She gave me a confused look and walked away. "Guys, come here." Called Jessica. Went I went over in the other room, there was a picture of the village from birds eye view. "They block off most of the land but here-" she points to a part of the forest that came into the village. "They don't have anyone near it. Something about a magical creature that lurks within it." She said. "But what if the rumor is true?" Asked Kalen. "Don't worry, if it was, why would there be a village build right in it?" Answered Jessica. "Shouldn't someone stay behind to make sure nothing bad happens to the village?" I asked, looking at my friends. "I will stay behind, since you guys never involve me in anything anymore apparently." I turned around to see David frowning at us. "Well I'm sorry if you never show up!" Jessica snapped, glaring at David with a look of hatred. "Whatever, it's not like you guys care anyway." David said, returning the glare before walking off. "Ugh how stubborn and hotheaded he is!" Jessica said before returning to her plan. "And when do we carry out the plan?" I asked, ignoring the outbreak of anger. "Tonight, at midnight when they are asleep." Sidney replied. I checked my phone. 8:35 was the time. "So about four hours until we leave?" Asked Logan. "Yes, but until then, everyone get ready and packed, because after this, we won't ever come back to the village."
