Snape, Evans, Potter
Heather Potter's godfather, Severus Snape, loathed her almost as much as she did him now. When she was younger she liked Snape but did not love him. She was raised by Snape since she was one, but the main reasons he took her in was because she resembled Lily Potter (Evans), her mother, so much, and she was one of two of the last people (of witches and wizards) alive that were part of the Evans family. Snape originally wanted to take in both of Lily's children, however; he was told he could not because they would each be in more danger if they were together, than if they were apart.
Heather knew she had a twin, but did not know their name, gender, nor who took them in. She didn't even know if they knew there was such thing as magic! Even though Heather didn't really know anything about her twin Snape had told Heather pretty much everything that led up to her now living with her him and why she had the lightning bolt scar on her forehead.
Heather and Snape lived in a muggle house in a muggle village even though they were a witch and wizard. Her godfather, whom she called Sevy until the age of 7, but now called Sev; was almost never home. Narcissa Malfoy was more like family to Heather than Severus ever was because he wasn't home for about three quarters of every year, since he worked at Hogwarts. Heather pretty much lived with Narcissa throughout the school year and lived with Severus over the summer. Draco Malfoy has been Heather's best friend, almost like a brother, for as long as she could remember. Draco was just a few days short of being two months older than Heather.
Heather's POV
I woke up this morning and went downstairs and Sev said that my Hogwarts letter arrived yesterday, less than half an hour after I fell asleep. Sev said we'd go to Diagon Alley to get me a wand later this week and that he'd get everything else I needed right before he goes to Hogwarts.
This was the first time I was ever allowed to go to Diagon Alley , but I've heard Sev talk to Narcissa about it, many times before. I told Draco as soon as I could, which was three days after I found out I was going to Diagon Alley. Apparently Draco went to Diagon Alley for the first time, two days ago; with his mom.
I asked him what Diagon Alley looked like and a dozen other questions about Diagon Alley, but he refused to answer any one of them. He smirked and replied wait and see.
Sev had taught me how to use floo powder a few years ago when I was about 9. Since we both knew how to use floo powder and it was a quick and easy way to get there, Sev and I used floo powder and went to Diagon Alley.
When we arrived in Diagon Alley I was awestruck. Diagon Alley was amazing, there were tons of exuberant children right about my age and parents everywhere. They were dashing in and out of, what looked like, superannuated (abandoned) buildings; and flamboyant (bold and noticeable) buildings.
Then Sev and I walked into a building slightly larger than the rest, called Ollivander's Wand Shop. As we walked in an older man, who said his name is Mr.Ollivander, came out from behind a tower of boxes. This shop was more cluttered and disarrayed than anywhere I had ever seen before. Sev and Mr.Ollivander talked to each other quietly for a minute, before he walked back behind the counter and grabbed a small box. He set it on the counter, opened it, pulled out a wand, and handed it to me. He told me try it out so I flicked my wrist, but he snatched the wand out of my hand immediately, and then I realized the box the wand was in was now afire. He muttered a spell of sorts and the flames were put out, but the box was still burnt.
He went to hand me a different wand and told me to try it out. Before I even touched this wand I apologized for setting the other wand's box afire.
"Not to worry m'dear, that's happened so many times over the years I barely even notice that I'm putting out a fire," replied Mr.Ollivander with a sense of calmness that I didn't quite understand.
I now took the wand he went to hand me moments before. I flicked my wrist just like I did with the last one. Sev's wand flew out of his hand. I thought: was that suppos... "Great job! This is the right wand for you," shouted Mr.Ollivander, as he interrupted my thoughts.
"Wait so that was a good thing?" asked Heather. "Why yes," replied Mr.Ollivander, "Very, very few new witches and wizards can disarm people on the first try in class after learning how to do it, let alone without trying and before the've even gone to Hogwarts yet!"
After that Mr.Ollivander told me my wand was a pear wood wand, with a phoenix feather core, and it is a 13 inch, right-handed wand. Then after I was given the wand and the box Sev and I used floor powder to go back home.
Now Heather and Draco are both eleven and tomorrow Narcissa is taking both of them to the Hogwarts Express since Snape left a week prior to go to Hogwarts.
